Title: Cereal Appreciation Thread
Post by: dragonboy on Oct 02, 2005, 07:08 PM
I love me a bowl of cereal first thing in the morning!

I'm always amazed by the selection of weird & wonderful (& potentially teeth destroying!) cereals in the US.
Some are just cookies, right? I love that!

Right now I'm still enjoying some Cinamon Toast & Reeses's Puffs from our last trip to Hawaii. Hmm Hmm!!!  :D

What are your favourites? What should I pick up next time I'm state-side?

I usually eat this blend of organic grains and seeds and nuts and dried fruit with rice milk.

But I really love me a bowl of frosted mini wheats.  mmm.

I find a nice bowl of earth and organic milk very refreshing in the a.m. and sometimes I eat Kashi Go Lean Crunch.

It's all about the frosted mini wheats.  But be careful!  They get soggy quick. :'(

I like them in the medium stage..  Still a bit of crunch, but not so crackly that they cut up your mouth.

Not really cereal, but breakfast related, I had black pudding last year for the first time.  Now, I can eat just about anything, but that stuff is sick.

Cereal through the straw is alright, but I've gotta have the crunch. Gimme that crunch!

I have to disagree with that.  I definitely think you can have enough pigs blood.  I wasn't very fond of the white pudding, either...

(do you really like it?)

Yeh I do.
I'll agree - it's very much an aquired taste & not very nice to look at.
Hated it when I was a kid but Love it now.
I always look forward to an English breakfast when I go home...

See, I enjoy everything under the black pudding.

But the black pudding makes me want to blow chunks.  Also, it might be the barley in it that does it.

I was in Ireland when I had it, and it was called a "fry up". :)

That's it, that's an English Breakfast!
Everything fried, fried-bread, fried-sausages, fried-mushrooms, fried-tomatoes, fried-bacon (you get the idea)!
How did you like it? How was your heart afterwards?  ;)

You guys are way to healthy. I never buy cereal but if I did I'd  its gonna be cornpops. capn crunchberry, or cocoa or fruity pebbles. I used to eat cereal for desert in college cause as a kid I never could get the sweet stuff. Damn I want some sugary sweetness right now.

That's what I'm talking about!
I can buy healthy cereal here, I need some frosty-covered chocolate-chip-cookies with a soft peanut-butter-filling to put my milk on!

See, I hated Sugar Crisp.  blech.  The spongey texture just made me feel gross.

Maybe it was because it wasn't actually Sugar Crisp, but puffed rice that we had...  ;)

Golden Grahams...although I don't really eat them so much anymore.  My breakfast nowadays is mostly coffee, maybe a biscuit, and egg, or a bowl of Raisin Bran.

I drink 8th Continent.  I get the original Light, although I do like the vanilla too.  The original is sweet enough that I don't really need the vanilla.  What kind do you use friend?

I've been purchasign Silk: Vanilla flavored lately, but I actually like just plain old Soy Milk with no additives because I like the feeling of drinking a plant.

My sexual partner recently purchased Silk: Chocolate Soy Milk. It makes a good cup of Mexican Hot Cocoa if you know what your doing.

I'm not familiar with Mexican Hot Cocoa.  is there some sort of alcoholic beverage involved?

Silk was the first brand I ever tried simply because they have brand recognition.  I found this 8th Continent stuff and liked it just a little more than Silk.  I also like that it comes in a jug rather than a cardboard carton.

Tequilla, pal

I would perfer a jug to a cardboard carton because I find the cardboard carton hard to recycle. THe jug on the other hand only needs to be rinsed adn put in a blue recycling bag. I'm going to try 8th continent based on your suggestion. Thank you.

Sure thing.  They certainly have Chocolate soy as well as a light version if your sexual partner would prefer that.  I have never tried it, but I bet it's delicious.
