Just read in the Fav Movies Of All Time thread that Jaimoe is getting married next week!!!
Congratulations friend, here's wishing you & your bride-to-be a very happy life together!
My first beer of the evening shall be in your honour - cheers! :)
All good wishes to you both :)
Congratulations!
congratulations!
congrats jaimoe!
will you be wearing a cowboy hat?
congrats!
Thanks everyone! This topic certainly is a pleasant surprise. No CC, I probably won't be wearing a cowboy hat, although I am getting married in an abandoned country church. Maybe after a few beers...
Hey Dragonboy, how about making the first beer a Canadian one like Moosehead or Canadian? I'll try to dip into a Sapporo or two.
The wedding is almost ready, except for our wedding dance song. I'm leaning towards "I Will Be There When You Die", although my future wife wants "Passing Afternoon" by Iron & Wine. Both songs are great choices for different reasons.
Congratulations & just play both songs.....It's YOUR wedding YOU make the rules.

Both songs will be played, but I don't know the order just yet.
d00d, c'mon. naked as we came isn't in there somewhere?

Unfortunately I haven't seen any Canadian beers here. There are a couple of good international stores that sell world beers but most of the stock is European. This said, every year it gets easier to find stuff so I'll keep a look out. Thinking about it as I write we can get Labbat Blue - that's Canadian, no?
Great choice of Wedding Dance songs...
Hey Dragonboy, Labatt's is very Canadian, although I personally don't care for Canada's #2 brew, Blue. Anything Molson would fit the Canadian beer quota.
Jaimoe!!!!!!!!
congratulations, duderino!
i thought you were like, 17, or something.
bruce and i are fast approaching our 1-year anniversary and marriage, for the most part, is awesome. it's like always having a backup, like a cheech to your chong, a messier to your gretzky... it's weird how the relationship changes once you get married, i didn't think it would, but everything becomes more intense, more important, but you also feel safer, calmer.
have a great day, make YOURSELVES happy, don't let it go by too fast, savour it, and get your life together started off right...

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm actually one of the older members of this board, although my future wife would fall into the average age category. Do my posts resemble someone in their late teens? I hope not! Congrats to you on your 1 year anniversary.

Awe, how sweet. I was recently at a wedding where the couple's first dance was to "Golden." It was pretty moving.
Congrats to you!!!
After much deliberation, Iron & Wine's "Passing Afternoon" will be our wedding song. It's more uplifting and wedding approproiate, although we both agree that "I Will Be There When You Die" is a masterpiece - but the chorus' lyrics may confuse some if not many that don't analyze messages in songs.
Congrats man! I love being married. I think your plans sound fantastic.
This should be your vows......
"Whatever lurks ahead of grievous abominations and disorder, you and me walk into it together like always."

:) okay then. clearly you're on the ball!
Just saw you online...are you married yet? When's the big day?
Not married yet. The big day is this Saturday. We're getting the run-around with our photographer. She's an ex-punk band manager, so why I am surprised. I'll attempt to post a picture of the two of us sometime today.
We decided to skip on a photographer & got really lucky with a Japanese friend who took some great pics. Turned out he's a bit of an amateur photographer, he came with all the gear & we got the lot for free!
EC - get your bags packed ;)
Looking forward to seeing a pic Jaimoe, best of luck for Sat.
Here's a fairly recent picture of Victoria and I (David). Sorry about the size:

Beautiful couple! :)
Thank you sooo much BH!!!
Cheers for the pic Jaimoe, you look great together!
I have to be a honest though, I'm a little disappointed that you haven't got your
Ian McShane/Al Swearengen facial hair down yet :-/ ;)
I think if I tried having "Swearengen facial hair", people would think I was copying Frank Zappa.

Nothing wrong with that ;)

Very true. Maybe I'll request Muffin Man or My Guitar Wants To Kill Your Mamma at the reception as a warped FZ tribute.
