Hope he's ok
i think he got upset when no one would respond to his threads. I've tried to explain to him that he doesn't need to start duplicate threads or threads that could easily go in another, already established. Like how this should have probably just been a response to the "Post a random image" thread. Or the "Megan Hamiliton" thread that he started despite the fact that there was already a thread by the exact same name with over 50 responses.
But apparently responding to other people's threads was not good enough. He wanted to start superfluous threads anyway and still have the whole board respond as if we hadn't already discuss the topic.
I'm not trying to play forum cop again, I'm just pointing out what I think happened with rc. I've decided not to point out duplicate threads just not respond to them, but that apparently pisses some people off too.
I posted a smart-ass comment in response to him earlier but I doubt that did him; I'm mainly just a measly lurker.

Nah, I reckon is was definitely you. There's nothing worse than a smartass lurker. ;)

ok, well, let me stand corrected:
I used to be a measley lurker, but now I hate everyone on an equal basis
I'd be sad if we've upset him.
I don't respond to as many posts as I used to. I liked the picture. I wish I'd said so.

With 250+ posts and the regular season championship of our fantasy football league I think you're more than a measly lurker.
Good job on running rccola off! ;)
;D
I missed this thread, I guess it explains a little.
Rccola was a dude with good music taste, shame if he's gone for good. True, he did have a strange desire to start threads that were already there (use the search engine people!) but I also hear where he's coming from...I sometimes feel like I'm talking to myself here... I don't know, people used to 'chat' a lot more than they do now.
That said I'm well aware of the fact that I waste way too much time here & should fuck off & get a real life...
You know, sometimes I read a post, and I'm like, "Wow, that's really cool", but I don't really have anything worhtwhile to add, and I don't want to over do it by just saying. "Cool Pic!" to everything. I guess my point is, I wouldn't get offended just because you are not getting a lot of response to something.
It sounds to me like maybe rc was having a rough week and his anger was a bit misdirected. I hope he comes to his sences and returns.

& I hope
you come to your sences & learn how to spell ;)

Yes you should db, and I also think you need to go cold turkey on your music addiction. Please box up all of your cd's, and when you are in Memphis, I will take them from you while you find yourself. They will be in a good home, where they will be loved equally and nourished.
(Except maybe the hip-hop, which will be sold to the highest bidder ;))

Damn, I knew that looked bad when I saw my post, but I'm too lazy. And now I can't fix it because you called me out! What time is there? Go to bed, you need your beauty sleep.

From what I understand Angry is a big fan of Hip-Hop & RnB, maybe he should get those? ;)
So does that mean you're coming to Graceland BH?!!! Seriously my friend, I'll pay for your petrol, a VIP ticket to Graceland + I'll let you watch a couple of Elvis movies in my suite AND I'll throw in a couple of CDs to beef up your collection...can't say fairer than that, can I? :)

That's a tough deal to pass up my friend! However, it would not be about the $, but only about getting another couple days away from the wife and kids so close to my NYC trip. However, I would not totally rule it out. I can get there in about 4.5 hours......
Bring the kids!!!
How old are they? I'm a nursery school teacher by profession & have 40 + students here in Japan. Give me a day & I'll send them back home to St. Charles singing Suspicious Minds & wanting to know why they can't grow side-burns ;)

You bring up a very good point my friend. I've been wanting to get back to Memphis with at least the wife, anyway. Are your dates in stone yet?
Yeah unfortunately so. I just know that MMJ or DBT will be in Memphis the day after I leave :-/
One night in SF by myself, 3 nights in Memphis (do you get many hookers on EPB?) & then it's off to meet the wife in Vegas...
He's not said anything yet but I'm pretty sure Tracy's thinking of coming out to see me ;)

Hey, if you're 3 nights in Memphis, I am tempted to drive on over and take you to the best barbecue in Memphis ( http://www.cbqmemphis.com/ ) and then over to Graceland Too in Holly Springs, Miss.
Holy crap, now I'm hungry.

Damn! Is there a more noble creature then the tasty hog? He giveth us soooo much and asks for very little in return. Other then to be dry rubbed, smoked, dipped, then consumed. OK this really makes me want to take a road trip.
Ribs will be had tonight!
I once got drunk and posted a seven page account of my trip home from my Father's house with my kids and not a sole responded. I cried, I cursed, and then came to the conclusion that this is an INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD. And I was drunk.
I love all of you deeply in an electronic way (Tracy, I love you in a way that only we will ever know), but for the most part this is a cool place to waste time with people who are generally very cool and usually have an interesting taste in music. It keeps my old ass somewhat up to date with new music.
I may never meet any of you in person (allthough Bonarroo with my brother is becoming a possibility), but I enjoy your company.
The west coast of Florida can really destroy your mind - don't let it happen to you RC.

I would honestly love that Tracy & would happily pay for your gas & BBQ :)
I arrive in Memphis on the 25th (about 6pm I think) & then have 2 full days before I fly to Vegas on the 28th.
Damn, too bad you are not hitting Memphis on the weekend.
Need me to phone Mr. Nestle himself, try & get you the day off ;)

hey, what month is this we're talking about?
I've got grandparents in Memphis that would love to see me, and I'd love to go see Graceland for the first time--I spent the first five years of my life in the Memphis suburbs and then my dad lived there til i was at least 11 or 13 and still haven't made it to Graceland!

June :)
Wouldn't that be amazing?!!
If we were to go to Graceland together Tom you'd have to promise not to laugh when I break down & cry @ Elvis's grave ;)
dude--if you cry, there's a strong chance I'll cry, too.

Suspicious Minds is my one and only song that I've ever sung and had properly recorded. Let me back up...I'm not a singer, musician, anything really. In college I was drinking with some friends who are legitimate musicians, and who had access to a school recording studio. After a few hours of sucking off a Sierra Nevada keg and listening to some Elvis compilation, we got the great idea to drop into the studio to record Suspicious Minds. They had keys, and were pretty sure that it was available, since it was after midnight. I mostly hung around and drank while they set up drums, worked out the microphones, and on the spot learned how to play and then record the song. Then when it was my turn, I sang, throwing in all the "hunka-hunka"s and karate kicks I could (the kicks, unfortunately, didn't show up so well on the audio recording). By sunrise we had a finished copy; it actually wasn't completely horrible, but more hilarious than anything.
I used to have a copy, still probably do, though I haven't been able to find it for several years. Suspicious Minds really is a great song though. It's also the only song I've ever sang karaoke to.
What a great story! Thanks so much for posting Bbill ;D [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

It's funny, I hadn't thought about that for years, not until I saw this thread.
