Man, that's just uncool. Not very cool on Pearl Jam's part, either, though, for taking their set an hour over limit when they've got someone with an elaborate stage set-up going after them. In a festival environment, you have GOT to respect everyone else's time constraints.
What would've been cool of Kanye would have been to work hard to get everything set up ASAP, come on and apologize so hard for everything taking a little longer than it should have, and then totally show up Pearl Jam in energy and fun, and really make it worth waiting a little longer. What he did was take the brunt of the disappointment on himself, where it could've been primarily on PJ for giving them little time to set up the stage.
If his lateness was a reaction to PJ, I can understand frustration there, too. But taking it out on fans isn't cool.
Of course, if Eddie didn't run his fucking mouth about politics... then they wouldn't have been so late playing.

THey would have played late anyways. Everyone knew they were gonna go over their time, they never play a 2 hour set. Kanye is a douche though, those people waiting for him could have done other things with their time, like watch the kickass Ghostland Observatory set.

i'm soooo glad i decided to go to bed. i couldn't even hang to see phil lesh :-( that was ridiculous----i really wanted to see his show, though.

my friend stood next to jim james during kanye---they actually got denied coming in the guest/artist entrance w/their beer and had to stand there and drink it. my friend was laughing. he said JJ was TRASHED and swaying back and forth. wish i could have stayed up!!!

i couldn't believe how many jim lookalikes were at the bonnaroo show..i looked back into the crowd and it was a swirl of jim james clones. i think everyone w/red curly hair decided to grow a beard and a fro....i love it

It was Kanye's choice to play that late. He was scheduled for an earlier slot and asked to go on later. The only time left was after Pearl Jam, who was supposed to be the last act of the day. Im sure PJ wanted that slot so they could play longer. They should change their plans because someone else didnt like the slot they were given?

The thing that pisses me off the most about Kanye is he could of almost single handedly brought mainstream hip hop back to when it was great in the early-mid 90's. He could have been doing more collabos with popular MC's like common, nas, kweli, the roots, and even more underground rappers, but I think his ego and greed have certainly got in the way. He could of sampled some old school souls of mischief or something and made a song with Del tha Funkee Homosapien which would've likely killed, but instead he's almost as bad as all the soulja boy's and flo rida's these days

How did Pearl Jam do anything wrong? They wanted the late slot so they could be free to play longer. THey're known for playing longer sets on ther regular tours. Why should they have to change their plans because some ego-maniac rapper with a fucking spaceship stage prop had his feelings hurt because he got bumped to the smaller stage by Jack Johnson? I also have a hard time believing that a production team and festival organizers who orchestrate literally hundreds of acts on multiple stages over 4 days "didnt have the capacity" to handle his stage set. Get over yourself douchenozzle.
