Title: A Letter From BluntMaster
Post by: OnePoppedCherry on Jun 23, 2008, 10:33 PM
I am only a messenger. A middle man if you will.

Here is a letter from my friend BluntMaster.

"Hello Everyone,
I would just like to let you all know that bluntmaster is alright so far here on the outside. did you know once you get banned you don't get guest privileges anymore? it's fucked I know. as a fan how am I suppose to know what's going on with the band if I can't even access the forum. luckily I have these magic internet spells...well that and spirit friends to help me spread the word and message of the blunt.
Tracy you were pwn'd but somehow still got me banned,I applaud you're power on this board, you basically own my morning jackets fanbase right now, you and baxter that is. scary. Hope the fans like Shadow, J rud, Goat Boy, and all the other outspoken people in this community remain to continue the fight for freedom and equality. New Members you are the future of the band not this tight knit group of 20 vikings, so speak up, inspire the band, and rock out at shows. I'll surely be there rocking with you. every time you're at a show and see a ploom of smoke just think "hey that might be bluntmaster", if you smell some of that skunky funky think "hey I remember when bluntmaster totally pwn'd tracy's soul and continues to do so while he's banned". I want you to think of every possibility you can to take the forum to the most far out crazy places possible. all while being your own considerate, respectful self. take the power back n00bs, don't let this old fart tracy fuck the future up for us all.

Love and always watching,
BluntMaster"

I like to imagine a haunted Scrabble set coming to life and pulling phrases together. The freaky scuttling noise of the tiles moving all by themselves would freak me the hell out.

Kinda spooky, kinda sad...

i missed the whole problem with him which is for the best, i'm sure.

I am a fan of Vikings and Icelandic Metal so hopefully his poltergiest will continue to haunt us.  I like treats from the afterworld.

Donny was a good bowler, and a good man. He was one of us. He was a man who loved the outdoors... and bowling, and as a surfer he explored the beaches of Southern California, from La Jolla to Leo Carrillo and... up to... Pismo. He died, like so many young men of his generation, he died before his time. In your wisdom, Lord, you took him, as you took so many bright flowering young men at Khe Sanh, at Langdok, at Hill 364. These young men gave their lives. And so would Donny. Donny, who loved bowling. And so, Theodore Donald Karabotsos, in accordance with what we think your dying wishes might well have been, we commit your final mortal remains to the bosom of the Pacific Ocean, which you loved so well. Good night, sweet prince.

Ive never really heard of actual fans getting banned from message boards. He never bothered me, so I dont get it, but I guess if enough people were bothered, Im okay with it.

Shouldnt this Jacket democracy have had a vote or something though? Seems more sensible

Thank you Shock Adow.

The Bluntmeister has spoken again. Please, take a seat and listen to these soothing words...

"Hello again,
It has dawned on me that some of you may not know the actual events that took place to get me banned, nor the chronological order of them. so I'll write out what happened and who was involved. no matter how I go about this it'll be hard for me not to be bias and think I shouldn't have been banned. I'll tell my side and then let the others come in and twist it up, distort the facts, etc. here's basically what happened as simply as I can put it.

1.) Tracy starts "for the 50billionth time" thread about new fans and how he was upset about the new fans, their opinions of the new album, the future of the fanbase, the board itself, etc. it went on for 10pages or more, I do not remember exactly.

2.) I begin talking in the "50billionth time" thread about how it's a stupid thread and disrespectful to have on the bands main forum page. if this board is a business model and you all want to help the band grow, why on earth would you post negative stuff about people you haven't even met yet?

3.) Next, I start up the "How Did My Morning Jacket Inspire you" thread.

4.) Tracy's thread eventually gets erased and he takes his anger out on me because I was one of the big opposing opinions to him.

5.) Tracy and Co. Start pissing in my Inspiring My Morning Jacket Thread.

6.) Tracy Starts thread "Innocent Threads Deleted"
and commands that I be banned. of course I can't deal with people talking down to me so I stand up for myself.

7.) More of the Vikings start appearing in thread(ItStillJaimoe, rccola71, face, Tom, etc). Fran's first response to the thread pretty much says it all. then I got banned for responding "negatively" or something who fucking knows.

how would you react if those people did that to you? these specific people are the same people who destroyed the positive thread I made on the front page of the forum.

my last post I believe was in the "RIP George Carlin" Thread. then I woke up I was banned. for what exact reason? who knows, you tell me.

it's not the carrot thread because that had been deleted a few days before. other than that I'm not really sure what I've done that is so offensive.

what will the response be from the other people? probably something like "all he did was use 4 letter words blah blah", stupid stuff that everyone else on here does.

I remember people posting pics of nut sacks in that leak thread and all sorts of other questionable things these so called fans have done. If I was banned, tracy should be banned as well.

-BluntMaster

ps. CC Baxter is friends with Tracy in real-life."

I do agree that Tracy's "for the 50 billionth time" thread was stupid. If you openly admit that a thought is merely your opinion, do you really need to state it "50 billion" times.

Sorry, cant help myself.

I agree with Bluntmaster.  If he's going to be banned, then Tracy should be and Tom as well.  Tom is guilty of personal attacks and offensive language. Tracy is guilty of egging people on, starting stupid threads, and some say a lot more.  In other words, what has Bluntmaster done that Tom or Tracy has not?

The only difference I see is that Tom and Tracy are friends with Riny. So Bluntmaster gets banned for going after Tracy.  Just like Goatboy was banned for upsetting EC (another friend 0f Riny) and Dylan was "shamed" and once banned for attacks on John Conaway (another friend of Riny).  I see a pattern here.  You can say what you want as long as you don't piss off one of Riny's friends.  Is that the rule?  Because its never been explained why these people were banned or what exactly IS out-of-bounds now.

I was hoping having a new mod would add some objectivity to the "moderating" that takes place here.  Maybe Fran can turn this place around and it can be a welcome place for EVERYONE as so many claim it already is.

Sorry to keep harping on this stuff but if people are going to be banned we should at least know why.  If personal attacks and offensive language are not allowed they should not be allowed for ANYONE!

Dude, you have no validity if you don't say who you are/were. Seriously. In however much time you spent here, you never once took any of your problems up with the people you had trouble with. Unless you actually did. However, because of your anonymity, we can't know if you did or not. Uncool. We're taking all this shit up as ourselves. You've seen all the flack I've taken in the last few days. I'm still on my username taking it all on myself. I didn't quit and start a new name and then take up the same case under the guise of an "anonymous older member". Seriously, if you want to talk, tell us who you are and we'll talk. Otherwise, you've got nothing to say. You aren't objective. I'm not objective. No one's objective. What is objective is understanding that your opinion is subjective. If we know who you are, we can understand your claims, take it up with you and work on something. Seriously, I'd love to do that if you'd go ahead and tell us who you are.

I guess i should litter this with safe language. In my opinion, I think you have to establish yourself. Also, another difference that I observe is that they are not only full of crude and racy language, they've got things to say and (i think) legitimate responses to internetters that may or may not crave attention.
just sayin'.

Oh, and if Tracy and Tom're out me too, please.

i said i'd stop this. sorry. it's just silly, in my opinion. what is with this anonymity? it's hard for me to take this seriously.

QuoteWhat does it matter?

Oh, I thought the point of the internet was to connect with people all over the world, making friends and connections far beyond the way that any previous generation has ever been able to, having an effect on people globally, even. I've gotten birthday gifts from Japan and Bowling Green, KY on this board. I've driven two states away with some ridiculous old dude I met here and then randomly at a show and he didn't try to grab my ass along the way. I've sold tickets to someone on here to a show in Chicago, and when he paid me for them, something about the way the band works and the way this board works had him feeling generous enough to throw in about $30 extra to help me out as kid in college. I sold the tickets back to get the money back that I'd paid for them so that I could do okay with money in school, never asked for a handout. This dude just wanted to give back part of the experience. Was very cool about it, and didn't make a big deal. He wasn't trying to be the world's greatest thing, just wanted to give some of that mutual love for the Jacket back.

Isn't that what all this is about? Forging relationships based around our love for this band, connecting with people, and having a really cool time because we know each other well enough to be able to?

You can't even begin to convince me that the internet is about anonymity. How selfish of a concept is that? I've had so much fun and done a lot of cool stuff with people and for people because I've been myself here and worked with people as myself. Problems I've had I've taken up with people as myself. I've never been one to join under a pen name and work under anonymous invincibility.

So who are you? That's sort of a yellow-bellied move to come in here anonymously making attacks and allowing us no way to connect with you. Seriously, what have you got to hide if you're on the way out?

I'm with everyone else. You seem to think this is a totally public place. Now if you were some guy on the street that walked up to me and gave me several debatable points about George W Bush being a great president, does that mean that I'm going to listen to you? And this forum isn't a totally random collection of people who don't actually know each other; we're a bunch of friends. If you're new and acting like you love the band and want to have a good time, we'll all get along. If you come in here and insist that the new album is the worst thing you've ever heard, you really should take that elsewhere. Start your own forum or something, but we're all trying to be friends here, not great debaters.

If every post was made by a random anonymous person, I wouldn't be here.

The point is, I don't want to be on my way out.  I want this place to change for the better so that I can feel at home here as you obviously do with the protection of Riny.  I was being sarcastic when I said this is the internet because that is what everyone says around here when things get heated.  Just like Jenny said to me not 10 posts ago in this very thread.  I don't feel great about having to put on a mask, but as Tracy would say, it is what it is.

Seriously. Like I offered:

Let's talk it out. No reason for you to be anonymous, man. If I offended you personally, send me a PM and tell me how and why and where and more importantly who you are so I can make an apology to you and figure out how best to coexist. I'm not an asshole, I swear. And I'd really love if you gave me the chance to actually make things right with you, rather than some mask. And hell, it'll probably turn out that I'll be a lot more moved if you were to send me a PM letting me know who you are. Chances are I haven't realized I've offended you, and, believe it or not, it matters a lot to me when I do that by accident. I', getting the feeling that I probably didn't know that I'd said something to offend you. Either that or this is still hanging over from me sort of freaking out about the leak. Either way, let's talk this out man to man (or hell, woman, if it turns out to be so) so that we can both kiss, make up and get cool with each other. I'm not digging this hostile mask garbage too much, and I'm going to stop taking it seriously if you keep it up for too long.

So i'm the bad guy now? You shouldn't assume all this stuff, it's ridiculous. Really, nobody is getting special protection around here. I'm friends with Tracy now? I never met the guy man, only 'know' him from this board, like I 'know' all of you. Yes, Conaway is a friend but come on man, I didn't ban Dylan because of that. He started making really offensive remarks about his wife, who isn't even a member of this forum. If you do that shit I have no problems with shaming and banning you. No matter how big a fan you are. I even was so nice to let him back after a few weeks. I'm such a bad guy.

Threads or reactions from other members don't influence the decision to ban someone. We decide and nobody else. You may look around his postings and see nothing that warrants a ban but that's because the worst shit gets deleted asap. As most of you know, it takes a lot to actually get banned around here. Always give people the benefit of the doubt and plenty of time to change their act but if you decide to purposely stir shit up again and again you leave me no choice. I think I can count the people I banned in the last 5 years on one hand, it's not something i do easily so you really don't have to worry. You'll have to trust my judgment and if you still think i'm making a mistake send me an e-mail or something cause i don't even know who i'm talking to right now.

C'mon now, this is all so retarded. The mods are doing their level best to keep this place nice.  Is that really so bad? To keep people chatting and exchanging knowledge?  Really?!? Blunt was ocassionally entertaining, but mostly he was just pushing buttons.  Whatever, that may be cool to some of you but I don't miss that shite one bit.  I don't know Tracy, nor do I know Tom Eisenbraun, nor Conaway, EC, etc.  But I can say I did enjoy this Board a whole lot more when there was peace love and understanding. If I want to smoke a bowl, I'll smoke a bowl.  I don't need some nudge to tell me when to do it.

In other news: "Gonzo" will be playing on a big screen near me soon.  I can't wait. 8-)

So am I right to understand that an opinion that the majority of this board doesn't agree with (people keep talking about people not liking the new album. I thought it was meh, but not terrible in the least. Just not their best work) is grounds for being banned and bitched at by old time board members?

How many times do we have to tell you... this place isn't a democracy. We didn't elect the people who govern over us.

I understand what you're saying, but you can still nip truly offensive stuff while still allowing debate of ideas and opinions. I'm not saying everything should go, but it seems as if much of the bad blood here stems from established members hearing things they don't want to hear, no matter how trivial those things are.

QuoteSorry, cant help myself.

I don't think you're a bad guy, I just don't think you're the fairest moderator in the world.  I think you do your best, but you make decisions based on who you like and don't like.  You said Dylan was banned for saying offensive things about someone who wasn't a member here.  Tom did the same thing when he called Dylan a motherfucker and attacked his character when he's no longer a member. This was around the same time you banned goatboy for attacking EC who WAS a member at the time.  Tom didn't get shamed or banned like Dylan or Goatboy, though. So that argument doesn't really hold water. You implied that Bluntmaster was banned because he "purposely stirred shit up again and again".  That's Tracy's mantra on this board, right?  What's he on now the 50,000,005th time?  Why is that okay?

I know people would really like me to drop it and move on.  I believe a month ago I would have had a lot of people agreeing with me but most of those people have already moved on (as in off the boards).  I just want a reasoned explanation (not an emotional response) for why some people have been banned while Tom and Tracy get to put their feet up and stay awhile.

P.S. Thanks for not deleting my previous post and leaving my criticisms of you for all to read.  That's how I know you're not a bad guy.  So please do the right thing and either ban Tom and Tracy, bring back goatboy and bluntmaster, or give us some guidelines to follow that show tom and tracy's actions as being okay and goat's and BM's actions as being over-the-line.  If one of these things happen I will most certainly drop it!

anonymous sr poster, seriously, you're beating a dead horse.

You got a handful of people who hate me and others here, you don't like how CC does things, MMJ is blowing up, so go start your new board.  :o  It's the perfect time, people can leave here and go join yours, you can moderate it (anonymously) and you don't have to put up with me and others, and everyone is happy!

Seriously, you can set up your own forum, the band is big enough and it's time to branch out, have an alternative forum where people can be more of the ways you think are acceptable. Seriously, I think it's time and you have enough people, someone has to know how to set one of those things up, right? Can I help you set up an alternative forum?

You're going to have to get over all this (and this is a suggestion from me, not an invitation for discussion. If you honestly don't see the difference in me telling people they're being uncool to blunt telling people to suck his dick, the I don't think you're capable of seeing the bigger picture on anything).

hey everybody, first time poster, long time lurker.  I have been reading the boards for quite sometime and as a "new member" who has been a fan for years it seems closed-minded to automatically assume other my morning jacket fans who come here are stupid just because they have a low post count.  not to beat a dead horse.

bluntmaster has evidence and facts he's presenting.  why don't you just explain the reasoning behind exactly what it was?  everyone is avoiding answering any actual questions.  it seems like your only answer is "all the evidence is deleted".  I read through some of his posts, they're really not that bad.  plus, he's uploaded on a couple different occasions shows in mp3 for people to download who needed them still.  that inspiration post seems completely harmless and actually is exactly what this board needs.  so I guess CC I'm confused why some people get to slide on by time after time and others always have to walk on eggshells?

Hello TJ, I never said he was stupid, did I? Just saying that people don't know everything we had to delete because it was rude, offensive, etc... since you're a long time lurker i'm sure you must have seen at least some of it. Ofcourse there's nothing wrong with the posts that are still up.

The so called evidence and (skewed) facts have nothing to do with his banning. When you're consistently rude and offensive and are not willing to change that you eventually run out of credit. I know he had some cool posts too but that doesn't give you a pass to stir shit on the side.

n00bitron5000 deleted his own account. wasn't me  :-/

Honestly, never in a million years did I expect to hear criticisms on Riny's performance as a moderator. I'm having a hard time taking all of this seriously because of that.

Regarding bluntmaster... I wonder if his IP is banned, or just the account? I happen to know that on a couple of occasions, Riny has turned a blind eye to people with banned accounts opening up new accounts under the same IP. He's always been cool with giving people chances to redeem themselves, and I'm the same.

Maybe bluntmaster can return as bluntcommander? New name, new bowl, new beginning?

Yikes!

What the devil has been going on around here recently?

PapaJoeBear loves ya, Riny.

Someone needs to spike the metaphorical punch bowl around here and get everyone to lighten up a bit.

BTW, how is everyone?  :-*

a new low.

we took some hits, lost some old members, new members got banned. Lots of brand new members with way too much board info to be new members.

a lose lose situation for all
trying to mend fences, stay focused

I should apologize to you too, but I'm not sure why; just sort of the mode I'm in. (unless you told me to suck your dick and lick your balls, then you don't qualify for an apology, you're in a different category, I think; I'll have to refer to my flow chart).

vomit

however, we're trying to remain positive. But who knows, you could have been the one causing all the trouble in the first place. We don't know.

the boys have officially blown up, so, I blame Jim and the boys for being too popular.

PS- I don't work for the band.

I feel older and crustier than normal. My brain needs a shower and my soul needs a smoke

thanks, hope you're well.

my cannon is at rest

I have been learning a lot about Gold Bond body powder, so, I got that going for me, plus, 9 weeks to college football...

Well I never told you to suck my dick and lick my balls, but if your offering.... ;)

I hope you really dont feel any need to apologize to me, sir Tracy. And I myself do apologize if I started the ball on this thing with that post several weeks ago.  I totally did not want to begin some civil war, or whatever.

Peep this epic scripting from Bdawg

"Dear All,
I've been doing some thinking in this outer world and have come to many realizations. I had an epiphany if you will. I will seriously apologize to all I have offended I wasn't trolling looking to start a fight if that's how it came off. with that said I would like the chance to be able to re-register under a different name. I am completely blocked from the site pretty much, it is impossible for me to personally post a message. or even view the forum at all it just says this when I go to view as a guest:

An Error Has Occurred!

Error: Banning Notification. Sorry, you are banned from using this forum!

so nah brad they locked me completely out basically. Tracy I will apologize for calling you old that was below the belt. but other than that when I said "fuck you", it was like I was talking to one of my friends. that's how I treat everyone on here. you told me we were cool in that one thread way way back when I first signed up so I thought we were cool and I could mess with you. that's all it was. I don't want you fucking having a heart attack or anything.

I have been extremely on edge because of a recently suicide attempt in the family and just haven't given a fuck because so many hate living and it bums me fucking out and it's been pissing me fucking off. some of my logic is off a lot of the time but what can you do everybody is wrong occasionally. I just like sparking up fresh ideas thats all, this place is way more sensitive than other messages boards I've been posting on for years.

I don't have much more to say, all of my problems with this place are out on the table so therefore I have no reason to talk about them anymore. I just hope this can remain unlocked so people who might have left can read it. change is inevitable but everyone needs be a part of building this up. I've turned on a lot of people to my morning jacket and feel I would be a good asset to the band as a fan who is trying to promote them because I am diggin the way they are handling themselves. I really am all about peace and equality, I'm not about holding grudges.

the most chronic blunt you've ever seen,
bluntmaster"
