Our ticket stubs from concerts we went to:SF(all 3 nights),San Diego,Anaheim,Los Angeles
Z Electronic Press Kit
Cd's and vinyls(too many to list)
I'm sure people have better swag to list so c'mon an make us covet, covet, covet! Ahhhhh, love them evil urges!
I have a promo cd from when they came to Australia in 2004 and a couple of cool Evil Urges posters.
memories.
Slight ringing in left ear from the last MMJ show and a small blind spot in my right eye from the Floydian light show at that same concert. :D
Elizanne33 sent me a MMJ Dollar Bill from New Years, and it might seem like a small thing but it just represents everything I love about the band and the good people I've met on this forum who go out of there way to share the joy. I wasn't even at the show! But everytime I look at that thing it just makes me smile. Since then, I've gotten other cool shit from many, many other members. Some of the time even as surprises! :) I think we got something special here.
(Yes, I've been drinkin' buddum serrrruss.) ;)
I still think whoever got the jim james hair got the best mmj prize of all-time. just my .02cents
Some damn good memories...
Conan O'Brien 2003?- One Big Holiday- First MMJ experience...The energy..The Hair...Conan's enthusiastic endorsement of the band..."Yeah, I am definately buying that album!"
Local music store-sampling ISM for an hour with headphones...then the big purchase.
Work- Listening to ISM for 2 weeks straight...more mesmerized with every listen.
Berbati's in Portland, OR- First show...Maybe 300 people...Drowned in reverb...Amazed and Appreciative...Thinking the next time I see these guy it will be in a much bigger venue because they are sure to blow up.
Buying TF and AD- Finding joy in the first half of AD then utter epiphany with Strangulation .
Crystal Ballroom in PDX- about 3K in attendance- revelation realized.
Z- Poppier but more epic at times- First favorite song from the album- LayLow.
Aladdin Theater in PDX- return to intimate but with the explosiveness of Z songs...Driving by Pat in the back alley but too shy to roll down my window to give a shout out.
Missing NYE at Fillmore...arrrrrgh!
Coachella 2008- hearing new songs live first time- Highly Suspicious and Touch Me pt 2...wow!
Daily anticipation for Edgefield show!!!

My singular, torn up, trod upon Fillmore Dollar is my fave thing, too!! I have it at my desk at work. People think I'm strange. :-?
This baby signed by the entire band:

And every single minute of that, my so far only MMJ show.
My 10 MMJ videos I shot from the front row of 'Roo '06.
The people from here that I've met because of this band, and all of the experiences we've had collectively. Shit, I got a phone call from Brad today because he was at Bonnaroo and didn't know if I were there or not (sadly, no). Seriously, he called me on Christmas a year and a half ago just to wish me Merry Christmas. It's sort of crazy, but the fact that we all care so much about each other is really cool. That and finding out that Pat and Tom read the message boards enough that Pat knew who I was when I mentioned the mulletman when I finally met him.
Honestly, the only signature I have from these guys is from Bonnaroo 2005 when I tracked down Tommy at M. Ward's set and "thanked him for the music" about 20 times and got him to sign my plain white T-Shirt. I then labeled the front something like "My Morning Jacket Bonnaroo 2005" or something too obvious like that and filled in the set-list writing upside down on my own chest as they played their ridiculous set with the puppets.
That one's special as my first show of theirs, but the show they played in Nashville supporting Z was huge because I actually got to meet and hang out with the band for a bit afterward along with Tracy, Brian, Corey and their wives.
And then the memory of a road trip from Nashville to Cincy and back to see 'em play on my 18th birthday with Tracy later on that tour.
And then the joy of getting our giant crew together for the Rites of Spring show in March 2006.
Lord, and then the Ryman. I don't have much swag, but I've got these memories of shit. The Ryman show was so great that I was sort of fist-drumming on my thigh the whole time, got home and then realized what exactly Run Thru, Lay Low, One Big Holiday and Off The Record do to me--I had a bruise about the size of a catcher's mitt beaten into my right front thigh, and it was about as purple as a handful of scuppernongs. Good lord.
Also can't forget, at Bonnaroo '05 I met my first fellow forum-ite when I found the lovely Meg from Toronto there. She gave me one of her first cd's, and it was wonderful.
My Most Prized MMJ Item is really the love that's grown out of this board between strangers all over the world. You really just can't beat that.
Tom, you don't know me but I think I love you (in a completely heterosexual way). Nearly every single one of your posts has me spellbound.
My Radio City tickets! Less than a week to go :D
1. show memories
2. picture with jim doing a thumbs up
3. handwritten setlist from the sxsw solo church show
4. autographed ISM book
--autographed "It Still Moves" vinyl by the current lineup, just a few shows into the new regime...
--used to have one of the PeanutButter & Jelly sandwiches they passed out at the 4th & B in San Diego. Should've frozen it, but didn't. it got gross and i had to toss it!
--set list from Philly show (from Patricks drums) during Z tour in which they played the whole album front to back. On the encore, Patrick (or someone) crossed out "Hell" and wrote "Twilight."
--so many memories.................

I love every memory that I have of them performing live, and all of the cds. My most prized item though, is the autographed guitar I won at one of the Okonokos screenings. That is a darn cool piece of memorabilia!

I have a few on youtube. Also, they are 2-3 minute clips, not full ones, because sometimes the camera gets in the way of the experience. I will try to remember to bring them with me when I meet you on 8-16 so you can ck em out if you like. Just search on realteo. There are also clips of My Brother Benjamin as well as the world famous Your Evening Windbreaker. The Brother's have been able to lift them out of there to put on their myspace page.
cool thanks, going to youtube now.

To make a long story short...
My wife to be gave me a poster to a show I didn't even attend but written along the top was:
Dear Mike, Congrats On Gettin Hitched -MMJ Signed by the whole band! Given to me on the morning of my wedding day summer of '06. I was pretty psyched.
I'm sure it was just a stock poster signed by the band and then the manager or somebody wrote that along the top but I like to imagine they were on their tour bus like "Oh man too bad we can't make it to Mike's wedding b/c we're rocking so hard...lets send him a little something..."
Speaking of which... What's the story w/ Jim's signature? Same thing on the poster...

I snatched Jim's guitar strings after his tech changed 'em out and dropped them on the floor! Setlist from the same show - Knoxville, Blue Cats.
"Oh what a night under the sea" prom cup from the Athens, ga show, and a setlist from the Athens show the year prior.
I am such a nerd!

Not really my most prized item, but I thought I would put this in here. The blue pirate MMJ shirt was my favorite shirt ever. I bought it at the first show I went to. Unfortunately the shirt was worn out from wearing/washing it too much. The picture part was still in good condition and I couldn't part with it. So after letting it sit in my closet for a couple of years I finally dragged my sewing machine out and changed it from a shirt to a bag. Now it is my favorite bag!

Being a relative newbie to the band, my most prized possessions are the set list from the 12/29/06 Fillmore show(my first MMJ show, and certainly not the last) and the autographed Evil Urges booklet I just got from FYE.
mine is coming in seattle i can feel it

I'll never sell them though... to be honest, it's kind of embarassing looking at that. I have like an OCD collector thing in my brain.
I'm sure your not the only one with MMJ OCD. I think most of us have it in some form or another. It's better than collecting unicorns.
Sweet picture Kory! That's is impressive.
I just added the Off The Record single vinyl to my collection, but I still have a long way to go.
Do you ever still see the Run Thru single anywhere? I want that one.

it's kinda funny looking at them behind some glass. My bonnaroo one has a bunch of water marks and my NYE one is kinda scartched up and bent (NYE is one hell of a night). But then again, that is part of the beauty of both the posters....

Beautiful.
yes! Very awesome indeed!
somewhere i've got a xeroxed copy of a letter that jim james sent to a fourth-grade student that my friend jennifer was teaching at the time. i gotta find that thing. it was in response to the letter that the kid had written knowing that she was going to the show. i posted about it a long time ago, but it was incredible. it talked about what kind of music jim liked (roy orbison, outkast, elvis - which he explained would always be "the king.") if i find it, i'll post it verbatim.
My signed poster from the It Still Moves tour. I ripped off the record store wall and asked them to sign it for me. They were so nice. I realized that I had been talking to Patrick but thought he was Jim. That was back in the days when they all had long, curly hair. Jim was right next to him and he knew the mistake I was making but was nice enough not to point it out. He had a great "knowing" smile on his face too. I only realized that after I looked at the signature. I looked back at him and he was still smiling. D'oh!
Here is the poster:

Not my most prized items, but I just got the top secret Nashville 2008 poster by Hatch Show Print framed to match their Nashville 2006 poster. Significant because I met Meg at the first show and the second show was our first real concert attended as an engaged couple.
The '06 is autographed, while the '08 is actually one of the few prints that wasn't autographed (it's a Printer's Proof, never left the shop). So that's kinda nifty.
I got a setlist from their November 06 show in Chicago during which the band surprised everyone during the encore by having the Chicago Youth Symphony join them for a few songs.
I just have a lot of good memories. In no particular order.
1. Listening to Roo '04 and '08 in my car over and over again and never getting tired of it.
2. Getting the feeling at Roo '08 that MMJ controls the weather, when the harder they play, the harder it rains.
3. Leaving Mstrkrft to head to MMJ and hearing the beginning of "Golden" and sprinting through the crowd to get to Which Stage.
4. Realizing that the Dallas show sold out, but that night getting the last 3 tickets on StubHub.
5. Erekah Badu singing "Tyrone" with MMJ. I nearly creamed my pants.
6. The video I took at Dallas of "Golden". I love that song.
There are bunches more, but those are the best ones.
I have an autographed poster from the Louisville show this year. I won it through the radio station.
My first concert was the live in store at Ear- Xtacy for the Evil Urges release, gfollowed by Bonnaroo three days later. I have pics from all four shows thgis year that, some at my desk at work.
I saw where a while back people were talking about the number on the autograph. There was an article in a Louisville magazine about the bands early years. When they first started, they made posters for friends and signed them. Jim signed as Felton Spencer #34. For those who do not know, he was a U of L basketball player in the 80's that played some years in the pros.

Yeah that's definitely them. They are so cool, wish I could get my hands on a set of those. I image they aren't cheap when/if they surface on ebay.
I hear you Eric, the number of memories I have with you fine folks are small but oh so sweet. Hopefully the amount of memories don't remain small for long

I actually just got a set of the heavy stock paper prints. They look awesome. I had been talking with Guy for a few weeks before he gave them up. He still has a few sets of them. He also has some of the wood figures left, just not a matching numbered set.
He was really chill and easy to work with. Plus, because it took him awhile to get the prints out, he sent me a free drawing he did. Really solid dude! I haven't posted a picture yet because I want to get them framed right first. Will post when I do.

If you are going to make me start doing math, I'm at a loss. :undecided:
From the best MMJ show I have seen (Portland, ME 10/15/10), the morning after... I met Bo at Starbucks, then he and I walked back to the hotel. He told me to hang around in the lobby, as they were coming down. I spent about 20 minutes with the whole band and got them to sign this poster before climbing in the van to head to Levon's barn for the Ramble...

From Newport Folk Festival 2010, after Jim's solo acoustic set, I stood to the side of the backstage area and coaxed Jim over with my OM-84... the same model he played on "Sooner" from Acoustic Chorale/Okonokos.
(http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4079/4850731160_51bd0d900b_n.jpg) He signed it...

And took a picture with my daughter and niece.

The poster is awesome, the pics are awesome, your t shirt is awesome and the story is awesome. Love it all!!
I don't have many items, but my most prized would have to be this pic of me and what appears to be my boyfriend basking in the sunny glow of Red Rocks. It doesn't get much better than that!

Oh yeah, and the peeps are rad, too.
John I remember watching you take the photos of the girls at Newport. Didn't know you at the time and thought it was sweet. I love that poster from Maine!!! What a great one to have signed.
JohnnYY , Nice collection of items and memories. The Jim pic with your girls is awesome.

Thanks, Tater. Maddie, in the floral dress, damn near knocked Jim over hugging him when he first came over... pretty funny.
Katherine got Brittany Howard.

Always impressed by that photo, Jenny! And jealous, as Red Rocks still eludes me.
My most prized MMJ item is the memories of hearing and seeing them for the first time. Its made me the diehard fan I am today. I may not have any special items or autographs, like some do here, but just knowing that there is something out there that makes me truly happy and content is more than enough for me!
Wow.. Great to see people still checking on this topic!
Definitely the people we've met at all the MMJ concerts have been amazing and it always feels like it's MMJ-stock.
The last concerts me and the missus attended were all the Terminal 5 shows plus Carl's in NYC. We met the photographer that took our pic way back in 2006 at the Fillmore in SF during New Year's and she sent us the pic. It's one of our many cherished items!
Will be heading to One Big Holiday and hope you all make it!
If not, then enjoy all the concerts you're heading to and feel free and share!
Best,
Gundy
other than my posters (favs being all 5 T5, and Spusta Gold owl for LA Greek show, #8/8)...
...hands down my favorite MMJ item I own is a black hoodie that were given by the band to the staff of the Fillmore as a gift for the NYE 2006 show, and were not sold to the public at all. A Fillmore staffer put theirs up for sale on Ebay the week after the show and I stumbled upon the listing and knew right away that it would be mine! Says 'Jacket' in red letters across the chest, and has the date and 'The Fillmore' going down the sleeve. I rarely wear it, it's slightly too big for me and I'm also afraid of losing it or it getting f'd up.
Probably my bonnaroo burwell.
My favorite show and favorite poster.
Mines definitely my hotel Roy lp I found laying on the ground under a bunch of opera records at a flea market. I still have no idea why or how it got there.....
Definitely the setlist from the Pantages show that Jim signed for me (it's part of my avatar). The Burwell poster from that show is one of my favorites. Also, Jim's pick that I got at another LA show.
Probably my most prized possession ever, along with the setlist from Pearl Jam's PJ20 show...I got the setlist from Yim's solo show at Johnny Brenda's earlier this year. Front row and snagged it right after. Freakin awesome.
This is not an easy one to pick but my most prized MMJ item would have to be the framed photo I won in a drawing at the T5 shows. It was a drawing for fund raising efforts to benefit Sweet Home New Orleans & Gulf Restoration Network. I would have to thank the fellow MMJ fan(female women with a camera) that spoke so highly of Danny Clinch's work and coaxed me into buying a packet(packet of 5 for $20, $5 each single).
Thing is she gave me one of the few packets she purchased and I asked her what her name was so I could write it on the tickets cause I didn't feel right putting my name on a packet of tickets she had payed for. The merch person noticed I had a packet of tickets and asked for the $20 so I payed for them. The women I met was given another packet, so I owe this fellow fan a big thank you for talking me into buying the raffle tickets!
There were two winners picked and two framed photos given to the winners, one being a picture of the band at Preservation Jazz Hall by Danny Clinch from an over head shot of the band sitting at a table and another one by Sam Erickson of the band's sound check for Okonokos. As much as I love the Clinch photo of the band at Preservation Jazz Hall and would have love to won that one, I was very exited to have won the Erickson framed photo!
Best thing about me winning this photo was that following Christmas my brother and I exchanged gifts and he had given me the Ba-Ba-Bananas t-shirt that a fellow forum member had made to commemorate T5 Z night and SF NYE shows. I had given my brother the framed Erickson photo as a Christmas/late wedding present and he loved it. It currently hangs in his office with his Burwell NYE show at the Garhden! Thank you My Morning Jacket and the lovely people you attract with your music!!!
My first show was Radio City Music Hall in 08'. That show made me fall in love with the band. Didn't pick up a poster that night, but my brother bought me one for my birthday a few years back. HANDS DOWN my favorite poster in my collection, not to mention the most beautiful. The gold finish makes it very unique and special.
gotta be Okonokos vinyl. its so awesome
other than that probaly MSG NYE poster
The Port Chester shows back in 2012....utterly unbelievable. The first shows where they played song after song that I had not seen before live..... :cheesy: :cheesy:
Also, the fans are something extraordinary. I don't post here often, but I can still say that you MMJ fans are something special, and so down to Earth. It's one thing to follow an amazing band, but to also go to a concert and realize the fans are very good-willed is something else
Just completed this. Pretty pleased with how it came out. Kinda wish I did a double matte with some green though...

I have to agree with you, LB.
I've got some beatiful posters, pics, autographed stuff, rare vinyl, etc., but seeing, and being at the portchester run is one of my most prized possessions.
Those shows were like a big, warm hug from the band.
Thank you MMJ & crew and everyone who was there.
A mismatched pair of tube socks Pat left at my apt in Paris back about 10 years ago.

Thank you. It just kinda came together the way these things do! Great tour and a special time for the wife and I
I got this recently. It is Guy Burwell's first MMJ print, signed by the band pre-Carl and Bo (so, Jim, Tommy, Patrick, Danny Cash and Johnny Quaid). Its a little worse for wear, due to having been mounted on foamcore, but it cost me $10!

Nice one John! I have some prized stuff myself and surprisingly one of my favs isn't even signed. I've got the Guy Burwell marooned spaceman poster set which always haunts me when I look at it--I think because I can imagine Jim's voice and the band filling the universe
