hmmmm. In no particular order.
Harrison Ford
Gary Oldman
Alan Rickman
Johnny Depp
Can't think of a 5th one right now. Not a huge Deniro or Pacino fan, other then in Godfather 1 & 2.
I'm not much for absolutes. These are the first top five that I came up with, right now... I did not include actresses...

... and Steve McQueen, John Wayne and Jackie Gleason.
True, 2 of your fav actors are Robert De Niro & Al Pacino yet you haven't seen Heat?!! & John Goodman is on your list too but you haven't seen Sea Of Love? (Al Pacino & John Goodman)
2 must-see-movies for you right there :)
QuoteNot a huge Deniro or Pacino fan, other then in Godfather 1 & 2.
Really?!! :o
Which of their films have you seen/are you rating them on?
Have you seen Goodfellas? Casino?!! Taxi Driver? Raging Bull? Heat? The Deer Hunter? King Of Comedy? Once Upon A Time In America? The Untouchables? Cape Fear etc etc etc
Heat (again for Al Pacino)? The Insider? Serpico? Dog Day Afternoon? Scarface? Carlito's Way? Donnie Brasco etc etc etc

I've relatively recently gotten into Pacino, but he already easily makes the list. I do plan to see Heat soon, definitely on my next DVD to-buy list. Its not like I don't watch a lot of movies, I do. There's just so many and not enough free time.
Since my Top 5 probably includes guys already listed (De Niro, Pacino, Nicholson, Freeman, Newman, etc.) Ill list some of my favorites that are usually regarded as great actors but can, at times, be overlooked or overshadowed by the De Niro's and Freeman's and Nicholson's
BUT - Tracy I think Edward Norton is still in my Top 5 but Im somewhat disappointment with his movies/movie choices. After 4 simply GREAT movies and performances by him in the 90's (Primal Fear, American History X, Fight Club, and Rounders), he has yet to impress me as much as he did in those movies. I thoroughly enjoyed The Score, Red Dragon, and Illusionist, but come on, after those 4 classics?!?! He can do better than he has recently (and like I said, some of this may be due to role choices).
Anyway, here it goes:
Sean Penn (State of Grace, CARLITOS WAY, Mystic River, At Close Range, Fast Times @ Ridgemont High, Sweet&Lowdown, U Turn, 21 Grams, Dead Man Walking, Colors, Hurlyburly)
Kevin Spacey(AMERICAN BEAUTY, Usual Suspects, LA Confidential, United States of Leland, Life of David Gale, Pay It Forward, Glengarry Glenross, Se7en, Hurlyburly, The Negotiator, Consenting Adults, The Ref, 12AM Garden of Good&Evil, 21)
Christopher Walken(KING OF NEW YORK, Deer Hunter, Dead Zone, Pulp Fiction, True Romance, Batman Returns, At Close Range, Last Man Standing, The Funeral, Waynes World 2, Sleepy Hollow, Suicide Kings, Poolhall Junkies, Catch Me If You Can, Man On Fire, View to A Kill, Wedding Crashers)
Don Cheadle(Rosewood, TALK TO ME, Traffic, Oceans 11, Devil in a Blue Dress, Crash, Boogie Nights, Out of Sight, Reign Over Me, United States of Leland, Bulworth, Hotel Rwanda, After the Sunset ---I really hope those rumors of him plaing Miles Davis in a biopic are true)
Christian Bale(Batman Begins, AMERICAN PSYCHO, The Machinist, Im Not There, Harsh Times, 3:10 To Yuma, The Prestige, Vlevet Goldmine, Laurel Canyon, Swing Kids, Empire of the Sun, Shaft, Rescue Dawn - I absolutely know that The Dark Knight will be great, but Im really hoping Terminator Salvation with him as John Connor is bad ass)
And just to change it up - - - -
Favorite Up and Coming Actors:
Ryan Gosling
Emile Hirsch
Joseph Gordon Levitt
Ben Foster
Shia LeBeaouf or Jake Gyllenhaal - hard to choose bc each were great in 2 of my favorite movies, Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and Donnie Darko, respectively, but each has more recently settled for dumbed down blockbuster roles...well see

I love Goodfellas but not because of Deniro. Taxi Drive and Ragin Bull are ok. I do admit Untouchables is great, but with the cast they had it was destined to be great.
I used to like Pacino. However, he seems to have become a cartoon of himself. I think it started with Scent Of A Woman. Maybe it's just me. But since then, I've soured on him.
1. Harrison Ford
2. Edward Norton
3. Matt Damon
4.Joaquin Phoenix
5. Paul Giamatti
No real order, just my favorite 5 I could think of off the top of my head.
Morgan Freeman
Edward Norton
Tom Hanks
Paul Giamatti
Philip Seymour Hoffman
Denzel Washington, brilliant actor.
He's not my favorite actor of all time by the way, my favorite actor of all time is Mr. Sidney Poitier.

I usually prefer my "B's":

I think it is a bit ironic I like the last three in "straight" roles rather than comedy.
Daniel Day Lewis anyone?
