Forgive me if I'm totally wrong about this... but aren't Paterno and Carroll sort of flip flopping on this issue now that they aren't the ones benefiting from the BCS system? I seem to remember there were only two conferences this past year that were really trying to talk the NCAA into developing a +1 or some sort of tournament system - the SEC and the ACC.

I'm almost positive I remember Carroll being very much in favor of the BCS the way it stands - but then again, he's gotten a couple of National Titles thanks to it. 2004, anyone?

Yeah you are right about this. Yesterday he was on Jim Rome and backed off his comments after he got blasted the other day for only saying something when it affects his team. I mean why is he not coming out against the BCS in the off season? Yesterday on Rome he almost pretended like he never made the comments he made just a day before.
