I was watching Vicky Cristina Barcelona (Woody Allen)
I was blown away by Antoni Gaudí....

Every single one of those is amazing.
:-*
Those make me feel like I unknowingly ingested some LSD about 47 minutes ago.
Very cool though. No idea how someone even begins to design that.

I really like this one. But I have to look at it on an angle...

This one is pretty awesome. It's the same guy. I'd never heard of him before I saw this thread.

It looks like it's the same building from the first picture, but it still looks really cool.
Back in 2004 I was backpacking and spent an entire day just going around Barcelona looking at all of the things in the city that he designed. Really is spectacular. Park Guell was my favorite. He even designed smaller things like lamp posts in a plaza off of Las Ramblas.
it was a good day
Those are amazing Brian! We had an architecture thread going for awhile but I think you outdid all of them! Wow, I need to go to Spain.
Yeah, not only was the other Architecture thread on page 2, but it's AMAZING :o: http://www.mymorningjacket.com/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1201812439
;D
Gaudi is one of my favorites, FO SHO (I think there may be some of him in the other one too). Barcelona is one of my favorite cities, in large part because of his buildings. Park Guell is this crazy, trippy park, all curves and stone and colorful tile and outrageous sculptures, all on a hill above the city.
Yeah, check out the other thread Brian, there's a lot of stuff in there that's pretty cool.

I spent about 4 days in Barcelona 2 years back, and even though there were so many interesting things like various exhibitions, buildings and stuff, I didn't really like it there. Maybe that's the result of some dude trying to rob me three times in like 15 minutes. (some people just never learn)
But those Gaudi buildings look way better in reality, and they do look fantastic on fotos already, Park Guell was my favourite place too.
how do i insert a picture? my apologies.

It has to be hosted somewhere. A website picture, or something personal that you have uploaded to flickr or photobucket or something like that. Then you just need to paste the link (http://example.jpg), highlight it, and then click the "insert image" button above. (http://140.174.96.14/yabbfiles/Templates/Forum/default/img.gif)
If you want to link a website picture, right click on it, hit properties, and it will give you the http that I mentioned above under "Location"

THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! :)
Look at ME! I are smart... :)
I backpacked Europe back in 2004 and saw more amazing architecture than I have space to talk about here. This is a monster of a building in Rome. I walked thru the entire thing and sat out in front of it in the grass for quite some time just staring at it. It was ginormous and it was beautiful.

I totally dig this house. If my math is right, it cost 960,000$$ though :o
Its cool, but I didnt think it would cost that much!!
