Title: The Masters
Post by: Bigsky on Apr 08, 2009, 04:06 PM
Is anyone else excited for this? I am and I can't wait to see Tiger kick some Augusta ass.

I was there I believe in 1988 for one day. A truly beautiful golf course. Not a real big golf fan myself...

I love playing golf when I rarely do, but I just cant watch golf on TV.

That said, if it's a major and Tiger is playing, its must see TV. Last years US Open may very well have been my favorite sporting event that I saw on TV last year (sunday + playoff)

I'm excited for the Master's.  Spring is officially here.  The azaleas will be in bloom.  Augusta is such a beautiful course.  Also looking forward to Tiger's return.

thats the great thing about sport; I could watch that shot from Tiger 100x and I still don't think it's possible.

I was literally 2 feet away from Tiger (and pretty much all of the big-namers) a few years back when the PGA Championship was at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin.  Great course, great time.  I remember thinking about how I could do something crazy and tackle Tiger or something (I had a few in me) and end up on Sportscenter...it was just one of those crazy thoughts that pop into your head that you'd never really do.  Also that was the tournament where spectators were dropping like flies.  There were lots of "moguls" (little hills) with trampled down grass, and people were literally breaking their legs.  I remember being there maybe 10 minutes and saying "yeah the grass is slick, but who breaks their leg at a golf tournament?"  Not more than a minute later I slid down the hill and rolled my ankle.  At any given time you could look around and see someone slipping or rolling down a hill...it was quite entertaining  ;D

You definitely are not!  I golf about 4 times every week when the weather is nice.

What a beautiful opening round. The course looks perfect, and Chad Campbell was on fire. Tiger started off cold but not too bad...only 5 strokes back. I have to admit that I recorded it and then when I watched it at home last night I fast forward it to only watch Tiger's shots. I just didn't have 4 hours last night to watch everyone. I must say that his swing has become very aggressive, and his follow through is quick. Man what power...

Perry and Cabrera walking to the 18th right now. Perry with a 1 shot lead. Hopefully this hole gets interesting.

If Perry ends up at -13, he probably wouldve still won, but damn did Lefty blow it down the stretch. On the back 9, he goes into the water, misses a 4 footer for an eagle, and missed like a 3 footer for birdie.

That was some final round. Watching Tiger and Lefty heat up was just great. But I must say I wish Perry had won that green jacket...he just gave it away at the end.
