Title: Halloween Costumes
Post by: AMightyCaporal on Oct 17, 2009, 12:31 PM
Now halloween is rapidly approaching- I knew this  for a while and thought- well I'm not going anywhere, I don't need a costume.

Turns out that my fiancee's younger brother is putting on a halloween party/concert at his place up in vermont... now I need a costume

I've been trying to think of something fun/cool... not gory/scary

but I can't think of anything in this short amount of time and my mind has been distracted by other stuff.

I come here asking for some ideas- I know ya'll are a creative bunch so I think we might be able to come up with something awesome.

ready...... GO!

I struggle with this every year, and usually just end up throwing on a tie dye and saying im a hippie.

A couple of the last legit costumes I used were Ali G and the Crocodile Hunter.

I was actually thinking of The Dude this year to since all I would need is a dirty robe and a wig  ;D

I was The Dude for Halloween last year. The most comfortable costume I ever wore. However I felt like ass the next day from all the White Russians I drank.

Since my best friend and I will be at the Pearl Jam show in Philly, we're going with a theme: we're dressing up as two of the Founding Fathers (tricorn hats, buckles on our shoes, quill pens) and wearing shirts that say "keep on rockin' in the free world" in an antiquey, Ben-Franklin-y font.

So dorky and I don't even care   ;D

SO AWESOME!! Please get pics!  :)

My friend is going as "the walk of shame" and her friend is going as her "pride." "Walk of shame" will be looking for her "pride" all night long. This chick is a riot so I have a feeling this will be good.

its hard to make a costume on a budget and have it not look like a costume on a budget  ;)
Title: Re: Halloween Costumes

also may be hard on a budget but I'm thinking luke wilson from the royal tennanbaums

tobias from arrested development

or (this one may be lame) a "girls with low self esteem" cameraman from arrested development... the only way I'd do it is if I rocked the never nude look- but then I'd have to have someone always pulling my pants down

I know it's been done and done but hey, it's cheap!  I just threw on a garbage bag with douche ads taped all over it.  Topped it off with a a toilet paper roll on top of my head with a piece of string.

The best part of the night was I would just walk up to strangers and make fun of them.  They'd give me the stink eye and I'd just apologize and tell 'em I can't help it.  I'm a douchebag.

Lame I know but when everyone else is a little loopy, it goes over pretty well.

so I'm being a greaser... bought the PF Flyers yesterday, which I am very excited to wear always..  I want to be able to run faster and jump higher.
the most expensive part of my costume will be the cigarettes to roll in my sleeve or tuck behind me ear  ;)  I guess I could just bum one off of someone

I'm either going as a Toronto Maple Leafs fan wearing a jersey with a paper bag over my head or I'll go as a Boston Bruins fan wearing a jersey with Hall 2010 on the back (Taylor Hall is a junior hockey sensation and will go #1 in the 2010 draft; Toronto traded their 2010 first-round pick to Boston, and the Leafs will probably finish last overall in the league). Yes, I'm a diehard Bruins fan.

My wife is going as the Bride of Frankenstein.

It would require a great deal of makeup since I couldn't find a monster mask at our nearby costume/party store (which is fucking excellent, but it didn't have a Karloff monster mask). I'd also need platform boots. Anyway, the Leafs are far more terrifying than any monster.

This year I am going as Lorena from True Blood (20's era).  Wig...check.  Fangs...check.  Shoes...check.  Dress...not so stoked on but have something that will work.  Just not as bad ass as her dress in the show:

I still think that someone here should go as The Most Interesting Man in the World.  I think it would be easy, show friendly, and fun as hell:
