According to possibly the most fruitful source Inforoo has ever had Bonnaroo is happening!!!!!!!

better not be giving me a boner for nothing!! :D
Jacket is "pre-headling" before Arcade Fire? I can gladly miss that for Wakarusa.
Actually thats not what insider said
She said she isnt sure of the order
Inforoo is guessing AF headline into MMJ late-nite on the What
I could get behind that if thats what it means.
I read in a different thread on inforoo that this is what this insider character means as far as scheduling is that Primetime and Late night are not the same. Prime time is pre headliner followed by headliner Friday and Saturday. Late night is differnt and Closer is different. HOW EVER I only creep on inforoo about once a week for a few minutes so Im not a reputable source for bonnaroo information.
The moderator for InfoRoo just posted on facebook
"Yes..they are co-headlining with Arcade Fire on friday..just found out a few minutes ago"
(for whatever that's worth)
insider (who hasn't been wrong the past two years) said this:
Let's finish off Friday's lineup - I think I will make a lot of people happy when I reveal......
My Morning Jacket (can't recall which act is first - but there are your 2 for Friday)
If AF and MMJ are indeed playing back to back on Friday nite, it will probably look something like this:
Arcade Fire: 8:30 PM - 11:00 PM
MMJ: 12:00 AM - Whenever they decide our brains are entirely melted
when is the actual line-up announcement? i can't find anything on the b'roo website.

I'm so glad I'm not into this Bonaroo lineup clue-guessing Insider inforoo mystery whatnot nonsense. When I get yanked around like the way Bonaroo seems to release their lineup info, I go limp. :P
I thought this year I would see what all the excitement is about. The more I hear, though, the less interested I've become. I'd love to spend a long weekend with forum peeps, would LOVE to see a MMJ set at Bonaroo (has there ever been a "bad" Jacket show at this fest?), but I'm thinking I'd be putting up with a lot of bullshit much of the rest of the time, spend a lot of $$$, and would rather spread it around to 3 or 4 regional shows in New England, NY, etc. this summer/fall.
Fortunately, Mountain Jam solved my problem. Good luck to you 'rooheads. I'm not peeing on your parade, just an outside observation from an ignorant slob.

i personally think that this year The Hangout Festival might trump Bonnaroo as far as the "less-bullshit" factor. 'Roo might have gotten too big, too expensive, and lost it's intimacy and this lineup announcement delay due to the Stones is just one of the many signs it's not really an every-man's festival anymore. We can't all wait around for last minute planning and skyrocketing prices on everything available at the festival. And I'm not even mentioning the muggy heat in the middle of a mud bowl.
They better have a good god damn lineup this year. I'll keep some money on the reserves just in case some epic shit might go down, but I don't expect to do it next year if this Hangout Festival pans out like I think it will.
My problem with 'Roo is that as it has expanded its sounds (good) it has expanded the crowd (bad) many of them are just there for the music (good) but certain bands draw certain douchebags (bad). And while Bisco has always produced its share of shady mofos (bad), the inclusion of bands that appeal more to the "me" generation or just a lot of bored fratboys spending dad's money can ruin an experience (worst).
All in all, whether or not I go to ANY festival depends on whether I have to retake the bar. If I don't, Hangout has the more solid lineup, Mountain Jam is the closest, but 'Roo is 'Roo and it's the 10th year and if MMJ has an open-ended time slot that will trump ANYTHING and justify the price for me.
It should be said that what I like the most about a festie atmosphere is being a dirty derelict "camping" with a bunch of other friendly festie types. Lack of showers doesn't bother me and I'm fine surviving on clif bars and sweet tea for a few days. I just don't like when you have a bunch of spoiled popped collars trying to act like the farm is Theta Chi running around raping and pillaging other people's tents (happened to friends before)
I'd also like to say that if U2 headlines, it will put me in a moral dilemma. Here's why:
1) They suck, lets just make that plain and clear. NO talent, derivative, boring, every song sounds the same
2) Bono
3) Bono with an audience
4) Bono with an extremely large audience
5) I'd have to admit that I was technically at a U2 concert
6) They have awfully lame fans
7) I can't imagine them being any more riveting live than they are on silicon or digital bits
8) Believe it or not, I have standards
9) IT'S GODDAMN U2

I agree 100%. Im 99% sure I'm not returning to Roo, but there's always the chance. I'm actually hoping Jacket doesn't get an open ended set because that will make my decision perfectly easy

is U2 seriously being considered to headline? I suppose anything is better than kings of leon. At least U2 has hits, they'll be as boring as the Police set was.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Radiohead headline or play a late night this year. New Album, 10th anniversary at Bonnaroo, it's possible. I think a majority of the acts that are playing hangout will play roo. especially MMW, Ween, Primus, etc all the big names that are staples of bonnaroo. Anybody with a new record that has come out recently or that is coming out plus old favorites is my guess for this year.
yac, you're right about roo being a pain in the ass but I think everyone should go once just for the experience of it. If I went again I'd try and rent an RV or something, or build a hippy cooling tent. One thing roo sucks at is band placement. they always put at least two of the sets I want to see up against each other.
the fans have always been shady their, shakedown has expanded tho. tons of fake drugs, tons of random drugs. the most random thing I've heard there drug wise was "Roids, got your roids here!", who the fuck needs steroids at bonnaroo?
I have a friend that goes on Inforoo. I joined a few years ago and got trolled off there after complaining about the change in styles getting a bit too poppy for a festie. I don't mind Death Cab for Cutie, but if you said "hey, want to go stand in [a sweltering field with no shade/the pouring rain in a puddle of mudd] and listen to mid-tempo music trying to make you think" I'd politely decline.
Anyway, point is, my Inforoo buddy says Radiohead is OUT. It's supposedly WSP and Robert Plant closing out. As far as I know, the Saturday headliner is still the big mystery.
Don't know if the U2 rumors are serious, speculation, or designed to just piss people off. But if you're gonna have such mediocrity as your big name, then I'd prefer KOL because at least they have 3 albums that will rock your shit when played live. Otherwise, it's like having Ke$ha, Bieber, and the Jonas Bros headline with Miley as an Undercard. The names might be huge and carry weight, but no one wants to put up with the side effects.

It's worse than that: "Uno, dos, tres, catorce!" (english translation: 1, 2, 3, 14)
catorce may ring better than cuatro, but how does that make U2's Central/South American and Spanish fans feel?? :-\
I knew there was something wrong in the counting but I didn't want to expend the energy to just anger myself further by looking them up
We do not know when the actual lineup is going to be dropped nor does it seem that they themselves know because word is that the Saturday lineup is still in the process of being booked.
We do however know that Arcade Fire and My Morning Jacket are playing Friday the Black Keys are playing Saturday and Robert Plant and Widespread Panic are playing Sunday.
Who else is going to do Mountain Jam and Bonnaroo with hopefully at least another show or two in between. That's my plan ;D :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D
My Morning Jacket friday is as perfect as it gets energy wise. how long is an arcade fire show anyway? an hour and a half? arcade fire blows like no other. hipster central. Widespread Panic is a boring headliner too. the 05 dual WSP headliner thing was painful. hopefully Saturdays headliner is bad ass. They should put on a Talking Heads Reunion show for Saturday night.

Between all the bands that have been rumoured so far I'll have to say I'm not too excited with the "Roo 10th Anniversary holy shit its gonna be amazing" line up.

most definitely. bonnaroo aint like it used to be, it's all about squeezing the most money out of people you can.
have you seen this total access shit they have now? it's a level above VIP, like super VIP. Total Access (http://vimeo.com/9236532)
ridiculous shit, and I assume this is a starting price:
"Each TOTAL ACCESS bus is priced at $18,500 all inclusive of taxes and fees and can accommodate a maximum of 8 people. That's 8 people at $2350 per person which includes everything you see on our website. Each bus must be paid in full upon reservation. We accept most major credit card's and the charges may be split between multiple credit cards."
yeah I saw that one day on their website. face meet palm. absolutely ridiculous.
How exclusive... cause that's what Roo is all about, catering to the privileged and setting yourself apart from the other 75K people!??
I completely agree with all of the above. Still laughing at the Rodis comment... Frat boys need roids! The droves of carbon-copy douchebags completely put me off my last Roo. Now I rage at the sight of white bandanas and neon wayfarers. Springsteen headlined on Saturday while the entire farm shut down in honor if The Boss. In my opinion it was a disgrace and adding on headliners U2 or like bands will only solidify the unfortunate trends.
i've had a terrific time each trip i've made to bonnaroo: for every giant act you get gems like john prine, dave rawlings machine, big sam's funky nation, and FUCKING AMAZING mid-size sets from black keys, thievery corp, david byrne, mavis staples...
and i've met lovely people there. there are creeps, but there are creeps at every show.
for the record: bought my tix the day they went on sale. i'm a fan! :coffee:
Ya the presence of what I call the Bonnaroo Bourgeoisie has never effected my experience. For every person not worth having a conversation with there at least another 10 awesome people.
Wow, that bus deal is crazy. And crazy expensive.
In 2004 I was given all access passes by a buddy of mine who was working the Roo, and was able to go back stage at all of the stages, including be able to go up to those standing areas above the stage, and it was truly amazing. They only let a certain # of people up there though, and it's usually full, so sometimes you've got a wait a while, but holy cow...the view from up there is just insane...and you're in the shade. I can't imagine paying that kind of money for that access though.
I dont mean to sound so hateful towards Roo, I've had fun. I'm just confident that there are more festivals that I will have more fun at. Price/heat/crowd-wise Roo sucks though.

Nice!! Looking forward to the entire reveal on Tuesday. Now that Forecastle is postponed this leaked lineup is tempting... esp if MMJ headlines! $#*! do I luv Gogol Bordello for supporting my infatuation with gypsy culture. So much music so little time!!
