Title: A few new dates up on TM
Post by: ericm on Mar 22, 2011, 12:22 PM
Was checking TM for Lexington tix and saw some new dates were up

Pantages Theatre - LA - 6/22/11
Red Rocks - Co - 8/4/11
Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver - 6/29/11
Kool Haus - Toronto - 7/11/11
Metropolis - Montreal - 7/12/11

Hopefully this is just the begining and a lot more to come.

MMJ @ Red Rocks sounds like one hell of a great road trip. 8)

never heard of Pantages theatre, in L.A.....but I'll be there.  Sweeeeeet!

damn....
US $42.50 Ticket + US $14.85 Fees =
US $57.35

$15 in fees should be a crime.  Got to pay to play I guess.

Make sure you send them back East when you're done. ;)

Internet presale is Friday 3/25 @ 10:00 am pdt. General sale Sat. 3/26 @ 10:00 am  Pdt.

Always wanted to see a show at Red Rocks, and who better to see there than MMJ?

I think this just might be my Summer Vacation/road trip this year.

Hoping to see some more dates up before the end of the week ,so I can decide or sure.

I'm going to be selfish and say I don't want any more tour dates, because I'm broke. If I suffer, so must you all.

Roundtrip- Newark-Denver inc. taxes is $375.00. Not that bad.

A gathering at your cabin sounds great as well.

Now that I calm down and look at these dates they actually have left room to go from Vancouver through Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and then to the big smoke and Montreal. That would be a great way to start summer for me.

Thanks for the use of my name as a verb, again, Crispy!

Looks like at least Montreal for me!  4 hours from my house.  Any others heading to Canada?

Would love to road trip or fly to Red Rocks or other sites, but need to wait and see what else materializes closer to home.

Looks like I got some work to do on the forum calendar.

Just a heads up, if you haven't tried Kayak I highly recommend it as a travel search engine.  It searches a large number of sites plus most airline sites(except some like southwest).  Great mobile version as well.

For those lucky enough to be going to Edgefield ( A venue very dear to my heart) there is a travelodge or something just on the other side of the interstate from Edgefield. It is actually walkable, especially after several mcmenamins beer/whiskys!! We stayed there for the 2008 show and enjoyed it.

Anybody have any red rocks info they'd like to share? I think we are going to make the drive down for that in August.

Ps I can tell shows were announced today cause this forum is loading ve---r----y S---L---OO----WW

I immediately priced airline txts for Red Rocks and it's outrageous. That would be a phenomenal show. Plan to keep my eyes peeled and my spending at a minimum. It's going to be a great summer.

I immediately priced airline txts for Red Rocks and it's outrageous. That would be a phenomenal show. Plan to keep my eyes peeled and my spending at a minimum. It's going to be a great summer.

Hey now, there are enough of you east coast peeps to rent a 15-passenger van and road trip it out to Colorado, picking up stragglers along the way and rocking out at JacketFestWest! I expect to see all of you there.  :D

Red Rocks is right smack dab in the middle of my summer break, but might be a hard sell to the Mrs.  She loves MMJ but my rapid obsession is taking its toll.  Still, I'm thinking I fly somewhere "nearby" and catch a ride in from there.  Where'd you be coming from, BH?  What about you, Crispy?  How long from yer neck o' woods?  I've never been to Red Rocks; as a Deadhead, its hallowed ground.

wowowoowowowowowow! red rocks!  wowowowowoowowoow birthday time! wowowowowoowowoow!

I hear you Trish

Red Rocks has been on my "Bucket List" for years....

great find eric! yes....we must consider this.....

Red Rocks==JacketFestWest (+ tbd's bday party)
i hope air fares come down

this leaves JULY for some EAST COAST DATES!! (and for god's sakes, weekend shows!!)  :) :) :)

JacketFestWest! I like it. + Trish's bday = a plan must be put in the works.

I hope you're right about air fares. The $375.00 roundtrips I saw were on Expedia. The Airline's own sites are higher.  >:(

Just a heads up, if you haven't tried Kayak I highly recommend it as a travel search engine.  It searches a large number of sites plus most airline sites(except some like southwest).  Great mobile version as well.

Thank for the heads up. I checked it out and it came back with the same $375.00 roundtrip.

I was able to sign up for a price alert while on their site.I think it was a Priceline link, where they'll let me know if there's a price drop.

It'd be great to find a cheaper fare, but $375.00 is still not too bad, imo.

It's a short 10-hour drive for me from OK, and as mentioned above, I have a place to stay in the form of my family's cabin in Boulder County, where other interested peeps are also invited to camp out (I'll start a Roll Call thread tomorrow when I buy my ticket). I'll be taking that entire week off, and now I see that the Flaming Lips will be playing at Red Rocks the night before the Jacket!

You must see a show there at some point in your lifetime, and your wife will surely recognize that fact.  ;)

What the WHAT?! New tour dates, but they're not on the main page? Soon to be, I'm sure.

Anywho, Red Rocks!!! JacketFestWest at my place in August!  :D

Always wanted to see a show at Red Rocks, and who better to see there than MMJ?

I think this just might be my Summer Vacation/road trip this year.

Hoping to see some more dates up before the end of the week ,so I can decide or sure.

Flying into Denver tomorrow for a few weeks of snowboarding in Summit County :D. Hope I'll score my tickets to Red Rocks before the flight. Less than a hour trip from my condo to Red Rocks, looking forward to seeing MMJ there again

So I'm a big dork and in my ticket anticipation googled Pantages Theater and found this...

"The theatre has also occasionally hosted rock concerts, for such bands as Dream Theater and Foo Fighters. Talking Heads' 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense was shot there. "

Was Patrick telling us something in LA with his post yesterday... I think so :dankk2:

like many others - red rocks is on my bucket list.

road rules ;D totally forgot about that show!  i did a search on travelmath.com & it's approx 1620 miles from near me (east rutherford) to denver.  @ avg speed of 60 mph = about 27 hrs.  (and @ avg speed of 70 mph for lead-footers/crazy nj drivers like me = about 23.1 hrs.)

in other words TOTALLY DO-ABLE :D

Same here Penny.

I plan on getting out there Wednesday also. I want to make sure I get used to the altitude. Literally coming from sea level, so I don't want any surprises.

Good luck with the tix.

Well I convinced the wife yesterday that our week long summer vacation "up north" would need to change dates and locations and run through Toronto on July 12.
I snagged two tix to the Kool Haus right after they went on sale and saw that just a few minutes later the presale was sold out.
Anyone know anything about this venue (like the people who bought all those other tix)?
It looks to be relatively small.

Liz- I'm flying.

When my daughter drove out for Phish a couple of years ago, RR as the 1st stop on her West Coast trip, and she said the drive was a long one. I believe it was well over 30 hrs.

After driving to L'ville last year and making a quick turn around back to Jersey,I decided my next long trip will be by air if possible. I want to be well rested and raring to go. ;)

I'll fly Newark - Denver and rent a car.Probably Wed - Sat.

Once I get tix, I'll post in Crispy's thread, and we can come up with a plan from there.

I already tried to see if i could afford the London show too.... 1200$ plane tickets. I have a place to stay fo free in London and I can't afford it
