Todd Haynes! Kick ass. What a band.
(Anybody see Mildred Pierce? Fantastic. Watch it if you have HBO. Kate Winslet was spectacular. Carry On.)

Hopefully Todd is there to make a movie, not just to stream a live show. I really do feel for those that got f'd by TM. The upcoming announcements will make for some bad days for those affected by the " glitch"
anybody got some good screen capturing software to record this thing?! :bath: :bath:
pinch me ;D ;D
This is so fucking awesome!!!! And Todd Haynes, a great director.

I tried and got a half-assed capture of Mile High last year, and it was a bitch. I'm hesitant to pay for software and the free stuff is shit. Hell, I used to be able to download YouTube vids no problem with Real Player but can't seem to, anymore. I'm just going to enjoy watching it without minding a recording. Someone will pull through. This one is epic!
oooooooo my this is gonna be nice...meeting up here before the show?

Yea, I hope someone does. But I'll just plug my laptop in to my HDTV and enjoy it. I wish I could be there tho.

I've used lots of different programs, but my current favorite is Streamtransport, it works well most of the time. It's free and can be found here: http://www.streamtransport.com/ (http://www.streamtransport.com/) I'd very much appreciate if someone could record it, since I work and have to sleep. Please? June 1 will be a very, very rough day of work
Of course the first music film he likes is "Journey through the Past"
as some of you may or may not know.. youtube is now a streaming online service as well as archiving.. i believe companies like VEVO have an affiliation set with youtube to allow live HD streaming and youtube will allow the stream to be recorded to something that can be played back later on MMJ's Vevo page.
I'm just speculating that this will happen due to the recent fad with musicians doing live stream webcast events and how they were always available after for viewing. i think MMJ's vevo had a trial run with the letterman webcast.. if you look on their page they've uploaded some of the songs' video from CBS webcast
perhaps we'll get more details as the event gets near.. I'd hate to think that some of us die hards might go through the fruitless labor of capturing the stream when we could be just rockin' the fuck out at home which could be the 2nd best thing to actually being there.
This is going to be awesome. I just recently hooked up my new PC to my 32" HDTV. Much better than hunched over a laptop screen. :D

Ah yes, forgive me for being worried. Bright Eyes performance at Coachella was streamed live on their YouTube channel, but as far as I can tell it hasn't been archived on the official channel yet. Though it seems other Unstaged shows are available, so there's probably no need to worry. Either way I definitely wouldn't want to distract from anyone's viewing pleasure in any way! :)

I apparently have the only recording from that show up...
However, I hope this is archived, as it is also one of my good friends' birthday thingies, and I must attend that!
help for the technologically challenged - anyone know if apple TV or roku will help me get this on my TV? I too would love to watch on TV, not a laptop... but don't think I can hook up my laptop straight to the TV.
you can watch youtube videos on apple TV, OR you can hook your TV up to your computer. Just get a mini-dvi to HDMI cable. monoprice.com and partsexpress.com are both really good and really cheap ways to get all your electronic hardware needs.
Now that I type this though, I'm not sure about live streams on youtube on Apple TV

i was wondering the same thing about the roku.. i will try and set up a private channel for viewing if it's possible or try to investigate into the possibility of something similiar.
i think it would be cool if somehow we had a "live MMJ" roku channel.. i've just recently delved into the Roku world and it's leaps and bounds better than cable.. i have Hulu Plus, Netflix, and MLB.TV set up on it among all the other channels and I no longer have a need for a cable provider.

Yes, please do try whatever you can and let me know. I tried to watch coachella via roku and apple tv but could not figure it out. I can watch youtube videos but no apparent way to get to "channels" on youtube. Thanks!

I didn't make that connection! Interesting. Does anyone else see a resemblance between A. Man from Okonokos and the guy in the Louisville promo vids? Remember, its been 6 years. And does anyone in L'ville know Brandon Jones? Hmmm.
it's definitely the same guy...i noticed that right away and thought the same thing

I hope someone does record this or it comes out on DVD or something in case I can't be at my computer at the time. So it says that it was the same people who put together the Arcade Fire concert with Terry Gilliam and I can't find that entire performance anymore (would love to have this on DVD too), but there's still several videos of songs from that performance still up on their vevo page. Also I remember them replaying the stream after it ended, in case anyone is late to the MMJ stream.

Even though I'll be at the show, I'll set my PC up to grab it. I sure do hope there will be a DVD release of this. It looks like it's going to be AMAZING!
In case you guys didn't catch the second part of the Todd Haynes interview. This is going to be soooo good.

I can't imagine that they would have 9 cameras, plus many additional extremeley talented people and all the gear required to pull this off and NOT eventually release this as a DVD. Is the Arcade Fire/Duran Duran videos available? That would be a good guide I guess. Searching now......
Ok, I guess they have not been out that long. You can still find individual songs on youtube though like this great AF performance.
