Who's watching?

Any ideas for some kind of chat room? If not off-site, maybe this thread?
Also...
Forgive the multiple posts. This picture, found on The Steam Engine, of promo posters for Ciruital Unstaged says Tuesday's show will also be available ON DEMAND. Don't know if that's live as well as archived, but let's look into it.
CC, any insight?

I came here to post this, but was beaten to it. I stumbed upon this- if you are interested, see: http://www.pabsttheater.org/events (http://www.pabsttheater.org/events) under 5/31. I wonder if other places will do this - I'd love to see this at a local bar with a good sound system and a few beers.
otherwise, add me to the roll call!

Here's the latest info on the webcast. I doubt you'll be able to get the stream to work on any TV or BluRay device, except with a direct feed from a laptop to TV monitor.
http://www.mymorningjacket.com/circuital/unstaged/faq.html (http://www.mymorningjacket.com/circuital/unstaged/faq.html)
Catch the event here:
www.youtube.com/mymorningjacketVEVO (http://www.youtube.com/mymorningjacketVEVO)
as it happens live at 9:00pm EST / 6:00pm PST
on Tuesday, May 31st.
HOW TO VIEW MY MORNING JACKET'S "UNSTAGED" EVENT
For the first time in American Express "Unstaged" history, you will be able to live-stream the My Morning Jacket event through your mobile device. Using the VEVO or YouTube apps for iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and Android you can stream through the mobile device of your choice.
Here are some end user guidelines to follow for viewing on your home computer:
What are the system requirements to view the live stream?
PC Requirements:
• Intel® Pentium® 4 2.4GHz or Intel Core 1.6GHz (SSE2-enabled processor required for AMD systems) or higher
• Microsoft Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 or newer
• 512MB of RAM
• Graphics card with 28MB of RAM.
• 50MB of available hard-disk space for installation
• Microsoft DirectX-compatible sound card and display adapter
• Adobe Flash Player 10.1 or newer
Mac Requirements:
• Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or higher
• Safari 4 or Firefox 3 browser or higher
• Any Mac with Intel CPU
• 512MB of RAM (recommended but not required)
• Flash Player 10.1 or higher
What are the minimum bandwidth requirements for the viewer?
You will need a broadband connection such as DSL or cable with at least 500Kbps download bandwidth.
What software do I need to view a live stream?
You only need an Adobe Flash video player available at www.adobe.com (http://www.adobe.com). If you have Flash 10.1 installed but are unable to see a stream, try turning off video hardware acceleration: right-click on the video window and select "settings," then un-check "enable hardware acceleration" in the Settings tab. Close the settings window and re-load the web page.
How do I get the live stream and video to play?
The live stream will load automatically and deliver the video to you much like watching television.
How do I know which stream option to select?
The live stream is "encoded" in different sizes to accommodate all users and remove any guesswork on your end. The AEG Digital Media video player will automatically detect your connection speed and deliver to your PC or Mac the most appropriate stream to optimize your viewing experience.
Can I stream at full screen?
Yes simply click the TV icon to render a full screen stream and click the Esc key to return to standard viewing.
Is the live stream in HD?
Yes if you have an adequate internet connection you will automatically be streaming in HD. Sit back and enjoy.
Nothing happens when I click on an event.
Your browser may be blocking pop-ups. Be sure you allow pop-up windows to be opened from your domain.
I can't watch any live video. What should I do?
Ensure that you have a broadband Internet connection (cable modem or DSL). You will not be able to watch the video without a broadband connection. If you have Flash 10.1 installed but you only see black where the video should be, try turning off video hardware acceleration: right-click on the video window and select "settings," then un-check "enable hardware acceleration" in the Settings tab. Close the settings window and re-load the web page.
What if my stream disconnects?
Try closing your browser and reloading the stream. For best experience limit any additional web traffic while watching live events – downloading a large file can cause problems with the live video feed.
Why hasn't the event started yet?
Double check the start time and ensure you are adjusting for different time-zones correctly. If an event starts at 9pm in New York (ET) it will be online at 6pm Local Time in California (PT)

i'll def be here...and there
I work at a music venue in Durango Colorado where we have a pull down screen. We'll be streaming this event LIVE for the whole town to come watch. I only expect at least 20 - 30 people to show up. I mean, if it were Phish or Umphrey's McGee...that would be different.
At our event, we're teaming up with Southwest Sound (local record store) where they'll be selling the new album in both vinyl and cd format. We'll also be giving away Red Rocks tickets and other prizes.
All night long we'll have Kentucky Whiskey on special!!!
I'm really honored to be able to be apart of this event and help promote a band and a group of artist who have given me so much in my life. I just hope people pop their head in and see the magic.
Hey guys, there will be a special chat room on the YouTube page during the webcast.

this way you can all talk and keep your eyes on the webcast at all times.
brilliant! thanks CC!
See you all there - here - out there somewhere...this will be amazing!

Having a bitch of a time getting our Macbook linked up to our HDTV. We have tried so many configurations using a DVI to HDMI cable. We have been doing dry runs all weekend with other Youtube live events and all is well for about 5 minutes. Then our laptop screen (and subsequently our tv screen) goes blue. Sound still streams fine through our stereo. Just a glitch with the video. We have hooked this macbook up to a monitor in the past with no issues (I think we used a DVI to VGA cable though). Any suggestions?

Guess I'll be recording the NBA Finals to watch later!
That chat room will be in front of everyone in the world who watches, right? If so chat could be pretty cluttered tomorrow. Will going full screen on the video feed eliminate it?
I guess if I can't stream this on the TV through my blu ray player, a laptop with headphones will be OK.

Will be hooking the laptop up to the big screen and inviting friends family over for the show. Was planning on doing a Louisville inspired dinner for the group until two things occurred to me: 1) what the hell would be on the menu (hot browns and mint juleps?) and 2) I'll be in the kitchen instead of rocking the fuck out.
The group will be getting KFC and Maker's Mark!

I know its a rough process. I have similar trouble, but in the past I did have a bitchin set up that worked perfectly. I'm going to text my brother. What kind of TV will you be using, that will effect the answer... also you might try posting something on the mac forums

macbook pro with a mini dv to HDMI converter to my 46 inch sharp LCD.. easy as that..
i am expecting 2 friends over and maybe my neighbors.. but they don't really know anything about MMJ but wouldnt miss out on some good BBQ and some hooch..
will have my imac desktop on the other side of the living room to monitor the youtube chat room and skype with kydiddle.. we should set up a tinychat.com chat room so we can all do webcam video conferencing or something
I also have an HDMI question. I'm just using a straight from laptop HDMI to tv HDMI and it works alright but the sound gets all scratchy and nasty randomly. any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I know its a rough process. I have similar trouble, but in the past I did have a bitchin set up that worked perfectly. I'm going to text my brother. What kind of TV will you be using, that will effect the answer... also you might try posting something on the mac forums
Oh man, any help would be greatly appreciated! We have a MacBook (vs. MacBook Pro) and we are using this to connect to our Panasonic 46" Plasma. We are using one cable (mini dvi on one end plugged into the MacBook running to the TV and plugging into a HDMI port on the tv) and a wireless connection.....
I'll jump in this chat if can't stream the entire show using a PS3 on my Big Screen.
Woohooooooo! Got a MacBook>TV configuration to finally work!
Turns out that the DVI>HDMI cable is a piece of crap. I got a VGA cable and used a DVI adapter and all is looking good! Got through a whole video without the blue screen 8)
Now to work on the sound levels. Right now the laptop is hooked up through the headphone's jack to the back of our stereo. It is quiet. Any advice?

Woohooooooo!
Do you have the link to the chat if my TV/PS3 Combo wont stream the Webcast?
If not I can setup a tinychat room right now for it in a matter of minutes.
Set up the chat, man! That would be awesome.
Make sure you are using a stereo jack first off - two rings around the end rather than one. Make sure the out volume is all the way up on yr computer. If you are connected to yr tv but use a receiver your tv volume is prob down so turn up tv volume. If yr connecting yr laptop to a receiver make sure that volume is up.

I've been test driving some video capture software, but they all suck or expect to pay for them. I will give a go on an audio capture. Mostly, I just want to enjoy the show. I'm hoping someone better than me will record it. Hopefully, a DVD will be in our future.
I'll more than likely sort out recording the whole thing tomorrow. I have tried before recording shit from the UK and something always fucked up audio wise.
I just want to say once more - if ANYONE else wants to record this online give a shout otherwise I'm gona try to find the right program make the dream come alive!
This time tomorrow...oh my
I managed to capture the Mile High Festival last year. I can't find the software anymore, it was a pain in the ass, and this is a sample of the result.

*sigh* I'll be camping in northern california in the rain. :'( And my package is due to arrive tomorrow afternoon - but we leave early in the morning. I really hope it's still on youtube when we get back!

During the webcast, there will be a chatroom at
http://www.youtube.com/mymorningjacketVEVO (http://www.youtube.com/mymorningjacketVEVO)
the day has come.
Is anyone planning on recording the webcast? Like audio and video?
I have an external panasonic dvd recorder so I'm going to connect my computer to the tv and see if I can get it to record straight to dvd. I downloaded some trial software to record it streaming but who knows if it will work. If I succeed I will share with everyone as long as there are no copyright issues.

I'm really nervous abou this. Did anyone see this? My home computer is a Pentium but I don't think its a pentium 4. Also, I don't know the answers to the graphics card and the adobe requirements. unless they have some wild internet games or side shit going on it probably has to do with the HD bs. I'm curious if they'll be able prepared for a seriously intense amount of traffic. a lot of times people underestimate how instantly popular these events can become when a couple people post it on their facebook or twitter. they're flaunting that it's going to be top of the line, I like that but I'm more worried about connection speed than the bells and whistles hahaha

I might be over-confident but it should be fine. After streaming festivals online without problem for a couple years now I think "they've" got the live stream thing figured out... finally. The chat on the other hand, probably going to be glitchy as fuck.
*fingers crossed*
it says you can adjust settings involving HD if you have speed issues, etc. so who knows. it probably automatically adjusts anyway.
I set my bar low for webcasts. buffering, drop outs, sound issues, video sync problems, video feed problems, etc. it's a hard thing to get right. I hope they're ready for the intense traffic that's all.

Will be watching provided a) it works on my ipad and b) lil Dylan is reasonably cooperative.
Broken Social Scene and Arcade Fire both did live webcasts and I watched both live they both worked out awesome.
In addition, to those asking to record. The site actually posted the full length videos up to be watched on YouTube after those shows occurred. What I did was take a YouTube video ripper site (type that into google) then I ripped both off, put them into iDVD and have both of them on DVD now. I plan on doing the same for this barring they post the full show after today, which I am sure they will.
So pumped to have another MMJ live DVD
So I can't stream this on my iPhone? Anyone know?
In the apple tv thread they mentioned the VEVO app - try that on your iPhone

Can they stream something before the show so we can all test out our setup. I don't want to be scrabling at 9 to try and make sure it's working.

From the MMJ Unstaged FAQ page (http://www.mymorningjacket.com/circuital/unstaged/faq.html)
HOW TO VIEW MY MORNING JACKET'S "UNSTAGED" EVENT
For the first time in American Express "Unstaged" history, you will be able to live-stream the My Morning Jacket event through your mobile device. Using the VEVO or YouTube apps for
iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and Android you can stream through the mobile device of your choice.
so the preshow at 8?est
Well I was wondering if the screen would just automatically change at 9pm, but its already changed to something different so at least that is good news. 3 camera angles! :D
I still have the same worries as you BH with the streaming capacity, but they seem to have gotten better with it the last couple years.
How bout the vote for a song deal? I couldnt vote for Steam Engine in hopes that means they play a couple extra cuts off Circuital. Went with IWBTWYDie.
you sluts better pick either steam engine or I will be there when you die
this is so fun! love the different camera angles.
i voted Bermuda Highway :) just for BH

Im guessing BH and IWBTWYD are going to split a lot of votes (which is likely since theyre both at 28% right now) and Steam will run away with it.
Wouldve been cool if they had 3 "lesser" regarded songs off Circuital to choose from. I think they said from the get go it would be 3 oldies though.

gotcha...that poll never had a chance with Steam Engine in the mix...thats like putting prime Mike Tyson in there against Michael Spinks and Larry Holmes
I voted for "I Will Be THere When You Die" Will this clicking noise like it's refreshing go away once the show comes on.

try a different browser maybe. chrome or firefox.
I have a brand new computer just months old and this is just not watchable.Hopefully someone can record it and we can get it later.

If you are on a wireless connection try directly connecing your computer to the modem/router. Make sure nothing else is streaming/uploading/downloading.
Victory Dance > Circuital is the perfect and expected opener!
I find if you keep clicking on the different cameras when it freezes up it seems to help.

mine is stopping/stalling every 30-60 seconds...having to switch cameras every time
sucks
i'm trying to enjoy it as much as I can...hope all of you are enjoying it, and hopefully someone records this so I can see it the way it was meant to be seen at a later time
had to settle for my 20 inch Dell and comcast's lowest package and it's fantastic

I tried it too... I think we need the updated Adobe software 10.1, but I don't feel like waiting for it to download... just watching it on my pc.
streams never work well for me, no matter how new my computer is.
I can't view it either thru ps3, Watching on my computer... kinda, my connection is sucking right now.

It really is too bad that this is unwatchable. It seems like it would have been a great show.
shitty shit shit i love this song

Had issues at first but now running much smoother. Don't give up.
Every time Jim talks or a part of a song I want to hear is about to come up, it freezes for 30 seconds.
Have my iPod hooked up to my plasma tv and it's working beautifully.
What just happened there............ that can't be summed up in any language.
I went to the light version and clicked on the faqs tab to block out the annoying comments... seems to be working better... could be a coincidence though.
I'm going to have to go to more than just the 1 show at Red Rocks. Hoping they head to Florida for the fall. Will definitely head back home to NY again too .

This whole thing has been ridiculously and utterly amazing. I wasn't sure what this whole Unstaged thing was even going to be, but this was incredible. I didn't think they would ever have it go on this long. I didn't realize I was getting to sit down to a free legit MMJ show. I just sorta pulled up an uncomfortable stool – and my ass has been planted on it for three epic and awesome hours!
This has to be arguably their best encore to date

This whole thing has been ridiculously and utterly amazing. I wasn't sure what this whole Unstaged thing was even going to be, but this was incredible. I didn't think they would ever have it go on this long. I didn't realize I was getting to sit down to a free legit MMJ show. I just sorta pulled up an uncomfortable stool – and my ass has been planted on it for three epic and awesome hours!
Seriously...this is way more than most bands ever give their fans. Bravo, MMJ!

The four song Badu set was so great! That's the segment of the night!
Couldn't get on the board cause I didnt want to tax my computer but wow! That was shot so great too and I love the new set.
I think that was Wax Fang's Kevin Ratterman on rhythm all night but I can't say for sure.

the video feed on my end was great. I ran off wifi and it only stopped a handful of times but only for a few seconds then was find. It looked amazing on my 32 inch HDTV. 8)

I'm using chrome and on wireless and had no problem streaming it on the computer and streaming on the iPad at the same time sending it to AppleTV through airplay.
got it, video is pixelated and not looking sharp. i'll have to definitely rewatch this on demand. i had no problems with the unstaged arcade fire concert.
Damn that's awesome that I was on there. I either looked really fucked up rocking out or it was the moment when I looked right in the camera and smiled. Either one scares me.
What was the second Badu song?

Ya, i got a 12 mb line and it still kept cutting out. unfortunately/fortunately i was at phish tonight and couldn't watch the stream. i hope someone recorded it, looks pretty incredible. in other news i was one of the people who got the upgrade to front row for the show. the tickets went to a good friend who lives in louisville and had never seen mmj. they have thanked me probably 1000 times now, there's at least 2 new fans tonight. i am super jealous that they had this as their first show sitting front row.
I missed it live but it's still up now so watching! And for some reason it's crap on my computer but perfectly fine on my i pod!

Yeah same here, switching camera angles helped a little. The replay played perfectly back at my home, but I missed the first few songs.
I streamed this live at our theatre in Durango Colorado www.abbeytheatre.com (http://www.abbeytheatre.com) - the connection was so bad in the beginning people were straight up booing me. But there was a good 40 min with no interruption and people got drunk, so by the time the feed started cutting out again, people were cool with it.
We had about 70 people watching in out theatre here in Durango. Great turn out. Great energy. People were dancing, singing along, laughing and just having a blast. Some people even donated some backpacks.
I am so honored to be apart of this event, even if it was in the smallest of ways. As a long time Jacket fan, this was a true true pleasure. I'll say we made about 20 new life long fans tonight -and probably about 40 of the people in here tonight will be joining us at Red Rocks. Colorado Jacket fans rule by the way.
The best part was when they re aired the whole concert..everyone left and I was left along in the theatre, able to watch MMJ on the big screen, private, HUGE speakers, some weeds, some Ska Beer and a clear and uninterrupted set. It's 1am now and I have to clean the whole venue...great night everyone!!

I'm still stuck on wow.
Wow is right.
Ain't too many bands that you give you the bang for the buck that the jacket does and this show was special. Paragraphs, pages and books can be written but at the end of the day/night it is all just simply
wow!
After watching it buffer for the first 45 minutes
I turning it off it was just too hard to watch.
The stream was not that good. I hope they post
a version that you can watch. Should have used
Fanthom events an simulcast to movie houses.
Yea, the quality was horrible, and I know it was my loss! I am sure it was a fantastic evening, and I am sure the folks in attendance were blessed. Hopefully it will be reposted, and not just the highlights to make me feel really guilty for cutting it off!
So sorry about that guys, not sure what happened in the process. Everything sounded fine while I was cutting it up. I've never had this problem before. Sorry again everyone.
Honest Abe, not sure who you are or what your association with the band is...I did not mean any disrespect, although my post was out of line. It was a rough evening, and I guess trying to watch that did not help. I am glad for all this band does and makes available. Live streaming in itself I would think would be a chore w/o buffering, etc. I am glad to have what is available. I apologize for my posting.
that was just so damn incredible. and i cant get over i saw it on my couch. highlights for me were circuital, i'm amazed (quickly becoming my fav live song), magheeta, smokin, the day is coming
Dancefloors was the tits!
My live stream was HD the whole time and didn't stop to buffer at all. Sounds like I'm in the minority. Never said it before but thanks Cox Cable
Maybe someone got an HD capture and will post it to Dime (or somewhere else)?? ???
I know I'll be on the lookout.....
About half way through the show, just after dondante, I switched over to my ipod.
The picture was perfect and the connection was great. wish I had've did that from the start...
Seriously, the band never stops giving to the fans. I would have ordered that on PPV and to get 3 hrs of greatness for free - WOW is right.
Everything exceeded expectations - no technological difficulties - looked and sounded great - new songs were great - setlist was great - encore was great.

No apology necessary (and no affiliation w/the band either, I'm just a fan), my recording sucks butt. Still trying to figure out what happened. Hopefully someone got a glitch-free recording or they'll rebroadcast it (like Arcade Fire's MSG show was) and we can get a pristine copy of it that way.

I'm really lovin how they blend there back catalog into there setlists and the new stuff fits right in with the old.
Mind blowing...as always...
Sat in the backyard, laptop, speakers, perfect picture, amazing sound, amazing virtual music experience.

there were a few issues with skips here and there for me, but otherwise i was HD almost the whole show. I didn't switch cameras and was on Hayne's shoot the whole time for fear that i'd muck something up.
The audio mix was really werid, though...Jim's vocals weren't loud enough. Although I was using my new tv which is without proper stereo/surround system at the moment so it was just coming through the speakers of the tv via the computer....
Quote from: firesofcanning

I had the same issues at times. I could barely hear Erykah Badu until Tyrone. And other times it seemed like someone kept fucking with the volume. But I can't complain, as my video stream was HD and near perfect the entire show.
I watched it with a group of about 75 people at a venue in Milwaukee. There were two periods where everything froze. One time during Off the Record and then again during Golden. After that it was great. They had concert speakers set up and it was as loud as if the band was live. The video was near flawless after Golden.
What a show! Can't wait for Bonnaroo and Milwaukee.

watched the songs they have posted on the vevo page today and the audio mix was the same...still amazing that i was able to witness/participate in that event to spite not being anywhere near KY.
Yeah, my video feed was perfect the whole show barring a second blip or two.
I did notice the audio was a little odd at some points. In particular Jims guitar was much lower than Carls in the mix. That's to be expected from live streams though, i suppose.
fyi i am using this site keepvid.com and it let's me download the videos they posted today in hd, they look and sound really good on my tv, hopefully they put up the rest.

Dancefloors was a big highlight for me. I've seen them 5 times and no Dancefloors ever. But man they rocked it hard last night.
I haven't posted on here since Evil Urges came out, but I used to be a daily reader and poster and overall die hard MMJ fan. Age and the direction of the band with Evil Urges killed some of my spark, but last night brought it all back home (no pun intended).
This was my 15th MMJ show since 2005 and I'll have to say it was by far the best since Bonnaroo 2006 (still think that is the greatest MMJ show ever, even though 'Roo 2008 gets all the hype). I saw them at The Tabernacle in Atlanta in 2008 and that show almost brought that old church to its knees. I also saw Jim's epic first Rudyard Kipling solo show. This show topped almost all of them.
I noticed some commented the crowd was "lame," but this was just not true. This truly felt like a celebration of Louisville, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and everything MMJ. The Palace was alive last night and it was one of those moments at a show where the energy and the vibe were palpable. This band almost lost me with the show in Louisville at the Yum! Center in October last year (terrible sound, bad setlist, terrible crowed), but by God they made me believe again with this show!!! Hope has been restored.
Get your tickets for this tour because it's going to be great!!!
On regular non-festival summer tour shows, do you think 3 hours in length will be the norm?

ok, who is the dude on tambourine?
dude on the tambourine is kevin ratterman. sound engineer on circuital, a good friend, and probably the finest drummer this city has ever produced... sorry patrick.
check out wax fang and if you like ambient yet screamy music, elliot.
Okay....
1.) The thing around Jim's neck is a sampler.
2.) Kevin Ratterman from 2 amazing Lousiville bands (Elliott in the 90's/early '00s and currently Wax Fang...AND co-engineer on Circuital) was the auxiliary percussionist.
3.) I dare whoever said the crowd up front was lame to have been in that hot box. I thought everybody was into it, but the Palace was HOT HOT HOT with NO air circulation whatsoever. Everyone around me (at the front) had shirts completely soaked with sweat. I thought we rocked it, but whatever.
4.) When the mayor announced Steam Engine, I had to say "Nice fucking choice" to those of you who voted for it. My favorite MMJ song. Always a treat. A little extended action at the beginning too.
AND
5.).....Was that the first performance of The Day is Coming? If so, very interesting to have a live debut with someone else singing along.
I want to see the whole show on my computer now. I hope they'll post the entire shebang and not just a few songs.

Well, you got your reply in before me haha. I was a fan of Elliott before I ever heard of My Morning Jacket. I used to come from Nashville to Lousiville just to see them, (my screen name is the same as my email and it's based on the Elliott 7" elliottintransit. It's been pretty amazing to watch one of my favorite drummers ever become part of such an awesome band in Wax Fang, and then also have a part in my favorite band's albums.
So many highlights from that show....it really sparked my excitement for Boston this summer. Circuital really came alive, esp. the songs I was on the fence on (e.g. Outta My System, Moving Away) were both amazing live. Daniel Martin Moore/Ben Sollee, Erykah Badu was amazing, loved Twinkle, great underrated track....How bout carl on that horn!!

ok, who is the dude on tambourine?
dude on the tambourine is kevin ratterman. sound engineer on circuital, a good friend, and probably the finest drummer this city has ever produced... sorry patrick.
check out wax fang and if you like ambient yet screamy music, elliot.
Well, you got your reply in before me haha. I was a fan of Elliott before I ever heard of My Morning Jacket. I used to come from Nashville to Lousiville just to see them, (my screen name is the same as my email and it's based on the Elliott 7" elliottintransit. It's been pretty amazing to watch one of my favorite drummers ever become part of such an awesome band in Wax Fang, and then also have a part in my favorite band's albums.
ive known kevin for years. his cousin is one of my best friends and they lived together for most of the elliot years. it was in that place that kevin built his first studio. actually chris higdon (singer) lived in the same repurposed warehouse for part of that time and i know him as well. we had some crazy times in that warehouse...
in fact, chris and his wife shot our wedding. they are both amazing photographers.
thats funny, i havnt talked to anyone about elliot in years, they really were a great band. the funny thing is that if you put kevin on the kit with you on lead and my singing, it would be still be a great band. im sure even patrick would say hes the best this towns ever produced.
edit:
and youre spot on about the crowd. everyone i could see was bouncing and sweating like crazy. ive probably seen 50 shows (i know im blessed) at the palace and it is always hot, but its never been even close to that hot. it felt like a sauna in hell in there. i shed my fancy about one bar into circuital and rolled my sleeves up by off the record. about 15 minutes later i was wondering if i could take my pants off.

I haven't posted on here since Evil Urges came out, but I used to be a daily reader and poster and overall die hard MMJ fan. Age and the direction of the band with Evil Urges killed some of my spark, but last night brought it all back home (no pun intended).
Good to see you back, McC. Glad you enjoyed the show!
All I have to say is, that show last night would land solidly in the top 5 concerts I have had the pleasure of attending and would probably make a strong case for #1! I always fear whenever I hype something up in my mind as much as I was hyping this show, that when it actually happens, it doesn't live up to my lofty expectations. Well, that certainly was not the case last night! There was a lot of face melting moments in the show and it wasn't because of the heat in the Palace!
BTW, Slow Slow Tune is fast becoming my favorite tune on the new record. It makes me think of my 3 girls growing up and last night's performance of this song moved me to tears as they sang it!
I had never been to the Palace before last night, so I wasn't sure on how strict security would be as far as burning a joint. I brought one to the show with me, and although I caught a couple of whiffs during the show, it wasn't enough for me to take the chance of getting kicked out of such and amazing show so the joint stayed in my pocket. I did burn one right before the show as I was staying just down the street at the Brown so that did the trick pretty good for the most part! 8)

Agreed. No way was that crowd lame last night! I wasn't down close by any means, but I didn't let that stop me from working up a nice shirt soaking sweat. That was my first time to the Palace, so I can't go by comparison, but damn it was freaking hot in that place and if you say it's never even been close to that hot, I can believe it. Personally, I think the energy from the crowd contributed to the heat as well!
Lastly, I fucking love this band in case anyone was wondering!
This show made me feel like a "noob" again and I freaking love it. Really hoping they'll announce a NOLA date. But so far I'm planning on the "unconfirmed" but confirmed T'loosa date. Looking forward to checking out the new amphitheater.

This is gonna be great...good for the area too. tuscaloosa needs all the help it can get and i'm sure people will turn out. 4/20 at the bama theatre was sold out i'm pretty sure...on a sidenote, they have added a bunch more videos from the show on the youtube channel. hopefully they will just go ahead and add all of them
I think moving away was the highlight of the main set.
I can't comment on the show because I literally saw one song as I briefly turned on my computer at 7.30am UK time.
Maybe I was unlucky because it was a rather uninspiring version of Highly Suspicious. Most perturbing was the sight of the band in those horrid white suits, but worst of all was Jim James in furry moon boots! Now if this outfit was worn purely for this song I can see the irony.
But if he wore that combo for any longer than the duration of Highly Suspicious......well then he was in danger of crossing into "knob" territory!
Someone please tell me the furry boots were for one song only.....?
I think this explains it (from another thread):
If you watched the webcast, you know that the encore break is where things started to get really interesting. Rachel Dratch was in the pre-recorded video; she introduced My Morning Jacket to a Elton John'ed-up version of themselves who would play while the original band took a rest. In all the excitement of the show, never once did I wonder if there would be any crazy costumes. As the photos show, it's sort of an Aztec formal wedding look from the next down and all Elton from the neck up. All it made me think was how glad I was to be catching this band in their prime, when things like this aren't weird. I'll definitely go see My Morning Jacket thirty years from now, but nobody wants to see 60-year-olds dressed like KISS.

Paulie you had to see the 4 song section with Erykah. If you saw Jim singing Twinkle and The Day Is Coming, it would have all made sense.

Have you seen the new amphitheater yet? Any idea how big it is? I know Band of Horses and Avett Bros played there recently, wondering what kind of turn out that got?
From Amex:
Please enjoy these two unreleased tracks from My Morning Jacket's live UNSTAGED show, and remember to stay tuned for upcoming UNSTAGED performances from more breakthrough artists.
Slow Slow Tune & Smokin From Shootin are the tracks.
"Unreleased" - Either way, that's that.

i personally haven't seen it yet...one of my friends sent me a picture of the boh and avetts show and it looked pretty big...seats a little under 7500...perfect place to see the jacket as it is right beside the black warrior river...not sure if you can actually see the river from the venue though. i just hope this thing gets confirmed, my roommate's girlfriend still goes to school there and she said they took a student poll as it was being constructed on what acts they would like to see come and mmj was at the top of the list (not sure if they were number one but i know they were at the top)...i am really wanting to pull three in a row that weekend. atlanta and charlotte are gonna be great but u can't beat seeing the boys in your backyard.
the avetts and boh show was packed out from what i hear

7500 :o I had no idea it was that big. That seems very large to be in such close proximity to B'ham. My wife got her undergrad there and we are considering going up for this show (if confirmed). Just holding out for a better weekend destination. Didn't have the greatest time in ATL last time they toured so we're hoping for NO this year.
I got excited when I just checked Piratebay.org for and someone had a MP4 of the performance but then I checked the files and it's only the songs archived on youtube.
If anyone wants to download the songs from Youtube you can try www.keepvid.com (http://www.keepvid.com) works really well, and you can d/l high def MP4s
Fingers crossed someone ripped the stream!
hey now!
We were given a small amount of posters we designed from the band to sell. We only have 10, they are signed so if you want one get in on it fast! We're also doing a buy-one-get-one free sale right now, so you can pick up an extra print while you're at it. Sorry but you can't get 2 copies of the same print.

funny thing.. i have an apple tv that has a youtube search feature.. and no results ever come up for MMJ's Vevo account.. it doesn't make sense that this would be so considering you can stream the content via Airplay on Vevo's iphone app..
i've waited for a bit because i knew the rebroadcast would become an actual youtube vid that can be viewed "on demand" but WTF apple TV?
had 2.4 outta 3.3 gb but got "interrupted" somehow. redownloading. going faster seeing as i dled most of it. we will see.
on a totally separate note if someone has a second copy of neil young's massey hall reissue on lp i really really want to buy it from someone .....not for 60bucks tho :)
Didn't even see the rebroadcast was up, used one of those firefox download tools to download the 3.1gb 720p video file... got it without having to reload. AWESOME!

Nice! I'm not having any luck getting the 720 -- any chance you could start a torrent of this?
I spoke too soon... looks like mine cuts out during black metal, will try again tonight.
Don't mind getting it up somewhere thought if anyone needs help.
Keepvid.com is your friend...
Yep...keepvid worked perfectly for me. Should be 3.4 gb for high-res mp4 video.
this is so awesome...never heard of keepvid. glad i have now though...now all i need is a site that can take my bonnaroo 2006 video and give it a quality boost. sounds pretty good it's just really blurry on full screen mode. i'm sure it's the same one that most folks on here have from the at&t blueroom webcast that night
Can someone email me a link or copy, i'd love to have this forever!!!
Also, am I the only one that got turned on when Erica Badu was standing over Jim during the Tyrone guitar solo? That was pretty hot.

Thanks a bunch!!
Could somebody please send me links to the 720 HD full video I've been trying to download it from the road but hotel and airport WIFI sucks. Now I get home and they took down the full 3 hour video and replaced with a 30 min version. Please someone I need to see this video. Hell if uploading it is a problem because of size I will send somebody a USB drive and a return envelope. I need to get this video.
Thanks!
You might be out of luck to get the 720. I seemed to remember when I was downloading it last night that the highest rate was at 480. I am sure some kind soul will be able to help you get it. It might be me...I just need to make sure I have it.
just set my new klipsch audio system up in my living room that i got the other day for my laptop...thank God for keepvid.com! about to re-live this thing again

I figured it would not take long. I did check my copy last night, and it is 720. It is gorgeous. Still working on getting it to dvd. Tried to burn it to an AVI using Windows DVD Maker and got the dreaded "SID" error.
Can someone let me know what the songs were that we coulda voted for? The one that ended up being steam engine?
I will be there when you die and bermuda highway I think
