Wow, somebody record this stream paaaaleeaaase! The 08' show has still not surfaced to my knowledge. Love to hear high quality recordings of the shows I attend.

I'll be there. Keep those streams flowin'!
This is amazing. For someone who hates the interweb, we sure get a lot streams!
Im starting to feel spoiled with all these shows. If this keeps up, Im gonna have to hold out so my excitement of actually seeing them in August doesnt wane! :D
this is so awesome! lp if you read this please be sure and remind Tom and the boys how much we all appreciate this. (i'm pretty sure i can speak for everyone on here when i say that we appreciate it.) these streams and webcasts give me something to look forward to, especially when they are playing too far away for me to attend. can't wait until tonight!
these live internet streams are forcing me to up my percentage of posts made while buzzed/drunk.. i get off work early and pick up a bunch of beer & meat on the way home.. eat a nice dinner..wrestle with my dog around the house listening/watching the jacket.. pass out for a good 6 hour deep sleep.. wake up.. wash/rinse/repeat..
pretty good money saver which is what i need right now..
today was my last day working the 6:30am to 12:30 M-F gig.. next week i start 12:30 to 630pm hours so I guess I'll have later nights and great longer lazy mornings.. i think i'll be honing my breakfast cooking/light lunch cooking skillz as well
oh yeah.. TGIF ya'll
Listen for that one guy freaking out from the balcony. I'm goin

Hell yeah its friday...had no idea about this stream until around 3 today. Talk about nice surprises.
This is unheard of...right? :D
I mean, I've never heard of a band doing 4 webcasts in as many weeks...thus making it unheard of!

Hi kids. Just started drizzling here in nj so I'm waiting on the sun porch for bob who is outside smoking a stogey and setting up the feed/speakers etc. He is convinced that the rain will stop as soon as the boys take the stage. Me, I'd be happy to sit right here with my Sierra Nevada and while away the hours listening.
No sharts for me I hope. Bob? Perhaps.
Hey, Trish. Hey, Bob. Nice night for a Jacket show.
it's radiosure!!! sorry!!

i don't love Wordless Chorus. does that make me strange? :-\
They're playing with the placement of songs, early TM2, early Wordless.
oooooo worldless chorus sounds soooooo :ooo good
There was some badass guitar going on with Off The Record. I'll take a scratcy voice if they continue to shred like this.

seems like they are having more variety with setlists this tour.
i personally think that Jim has never sounded so un-restrained than how he has over the past year..
in years past you could tell when he'd be holding back to save his voice to keep it clear.. now i think he might just be embracing it
I like that. "tour shape" Gotta callous those vocal chords.

Anyone got the setlist?
Well that was a hoot, yes setlist anyone?
Thank god for Where to Begin! Glad you guys got to see that. some of my buddies made it down for both Milwaukee and then Chi.
In Regards to Jim's voice sounding off. I didn't hear the webcast, but i was at the show last night and they came off 6 days of rest from Bonnaroo and just laid into every song as hard as i've ever seen. I think you guys heard exactly that in Chi as well. They played such extended and improv versions of everything, and he was at an ear piercing volume. My ears rang all today as evidence. I remember saying to myself several times on songs i've heard a million times... Man Bo is really putting some style into his playing tonight, he even played a soothing instrumental inbetween one of the slow songs, maybe Old Sept Blues. and Patrick absolutely murdered the drums with vengeance and grace friday night. I made eye contact with him in the front row a few times and he was divinely inspired.
Could someone post the setlist please? :-* Went out last night, but totally regret not staying home and watching the webcast. My Morning Jacket is making me want to turn into a hermit.... ;D
Enjoyed a few text updates from twofingers and ALady. Sounds like the fundraiser was a HUGE success. Also received a pic of Crispy's beautiful dome...talk about sexting... ;)
WHERE TO BEGIN!? Really? oh I hope that becomes a regular this tour....
/blushing/ Holy Fuck, that show was incredible. I was about 10 rows from being as far as possible from the stage, but most of the time I felt like I was on it.
The show was absolutely incredible & moving. And it sounded better than any Jacket show I've ever been too. The sound in the Auditorium is flawless. Spinning Circuital now, can't get enough. 8)
And so it's a new chapter in MMJ history. Listened to Sweatbees yesterday, the musical progression of this band has been something to behold! Great to hear so many new songs and songs like Circuital, Victory Dance and Black Metal translate so well live, they hit you smack dab in between the eyes, lift you up and carry you with them. I missed hearing songs from At Dawn, but I am not complaining. Hell, I would quit my job and see every show on the tour if I could. The band has a growing catalog of fab songs. Steam Engine and WTB felt like, as Jim described the theater, "a gift from God." Blessed to have been there at all....
I agree with those who said it's amazing Jim doesn't pass out. (We were saying the same thing.) I didn't hear any scratchiness in his voice at all. I hope it's taped regardless. Being there was enough but that's like a little icing. Tommy took off his jacket I noticed later, not sure when though. He's such a dapper dude. Carl is just f*cking untouchable. He is the secret weapon (nicely put). Bo was more animated than I recall seeing him but maybe that was just a function of being ABLE to see him from the seats we had last night. And Patrick, sweet Patrick - a powerhouse on the skins also showing a swingy side last night.
Dear MMJ, don't ever leave us!!

This show was a last minute decision and I was on the 2nd balcony toward the back, but it was still in my top handful of memorable jacket shows
The pre show gathering/auction, the awesome setlist, the amazing venue, the performance, Jims rants, my hotel being literally across the street, running into the band more than once outside the venue, and the excitement of waking up and deciding to to come the day of made yesterday such a great fucking day.
Carl I think might be my favorite person on Earth out of all people I don't know.
Great great show. First show of the tour with a real mixed up setlist. Touch me pt. 2 was played early and they never looked back. Honest man had such a great a jam. Where to begin reminded me of night one, Chicago theatre in 2008. As for the classics, dancefloors really soared tonight, but so did everything. Extended outro to OBH killed.
Re: Jim sounding off, couldnt tell at the show. What did people think of the mix? I thoght it was overwhelmingly loud. Been to 7 jacket shows and seen several shows at the aud. Theatre before and this was far and away the loudest.

It was louder than any show I've ever seen there. Wicked loud, but great.
Well last night was everything I could of dreamed of in my first mmj show. I met some cool ass people at the fundraiser. I hope it raised a ton of money. Awesome setlist. I would have loved a Dancefloors in Milwaukee. Glad I got a Dondante, Lay Low, and Heartbreakin Man. This band is going through the stratosphere.
touch me pt 2 early = mind blowing.

It worked really well, coming out of the first 3 tracks of Circuital. Early Wordless is a nice change, too. And I am loving the guitar intro into Slow Slow Tune.

"Though their fans were happy to sing along and fist-pump to earlier anthems ("I'm Amazed") the new tracks had the drunk, bearded audience screaming like Bieber girls and air-drumming en masse."
I love the above quote from the article.
from what i've seen in the photostream from this set.. is alot of really quality camera angles and effects which leads me to believe this might have been professionally video shot by someone.. maybe for a later release.. i mean look at all those perfectly timed shots
Anybody record the Chicago live stream???
Thanks!
WHERE TO BEGIN................FINALLY!!!!!!FINALLY!!!!!!!
hope someone ripped this from the stream, I need some high quality recording of this show. WOW.

Now I can relive one of the best nights of my life!

Honest Man!!! One of my favorite MMJ songs. Great version.
This was a phenomenal show. MMJ just keep getting better. I've started this habit of recording songs on my Flip camera as the ultimate souvenir from my MMJ shows and I just uploaded 9 songs to Youtube (Honest Man, Where to Begin, The Day Is Coming, First Light, Wonderful, Holdin On To Black Metal and 3 by Daniel Martin Moore) from Friday night. Amateur videography but worth it to see the best band to grace the land.

Nice! This appears to be the same version as the torrent downloads found here: http://www.mymorningjacket.com/forum/index.php?topic=14892.0 (http://www.mymorningjacket.com/forum/index.php?topic=14892.0)
The difference is that the torrent downloads are in lossless flac format (which I converted to Apple Lossless for use in iTunes - I used the free XLD app for Mac to do the conversion).
The download from the Steam Engine site has already been converted to lossy mp3 files.
So, to take an example, Magheeta from the torrent flac is 1020 kbps, while the Steam Engine mp3 is only 256 kbps.
Wanting to squeeze every bit of sound quality I can from the recordings, I am opting for the higher kbps flac files. I have burned them to CD and listened in my car and it sounds awesome. I have also listened on my laptop using a DAC (with powered speakers and/or headphones) and they sound even better.
If you just want to have smaller files to save space, or will be listening only on your iPod, or just don't care that much, you might want to opt for the mp3s.
I'm thinking this is one of the best shows so far in 2011, tied with Unstaged (or better?). The "taping" is awesome. Any chance we saw some pro video equipment at this show? 'Twould make for a lovely DVD, I should think. Wishful thinking...

I did not see pro video going on, but I wasn't looking for it either. I certainly don't recall anyone with video cameras roaming the stage.
The still shots with the really nice angles that surfaced earlier were taken, I believe, by someone on behalf of WXRT, the radio station that streamed the concert - these photos were also streamed live as the show progressed. You can still grab them here, if you want to (I have grabbed them all and used the one of Jim getting some serious air for my iTunes "album" image of the music stream): http://wxrt.radio.com/my-morning-jacket-live-from-chicago/ (http://wxrt.radio.com/my-morning-jacket-live-from-chicago/)
(As each of the photos appear, just click on them and drag them to a folder on your desktop. That's how I did it on my Mac anyway. LOTS of clicking and dragging, but someday I will appreciate having the images from the concert I attended.)
LOVING Bo's barrelhousy runs on Honest Man...this band is hawt right now :D :D :D
so excited to see how this tour evolves...
Hey All! - Absolutely great time Friday night. I can't say I've seen a better show. Do you all just think it was a coincidence that Outta My System was the only new song that didn't get played?
I was flying solo as the wife was at home prepping for the birth of our second son (due in 10 days). The only downer is that this is the only MMJ show I've seen that I wasn't able to snag a poster for. If anyone happens to have an extra they need to get rid of, I'd love to take it off your hands, of course after a nominal fee!

I'd highly recommend the FLAC unless you are only ever going to listen to it from an iPod. Lossless is pretty important when you're already working with fairly low fidelity, and if HD space is an issue whatsoever for you then you need to catch up. Hard drives are CHEAP.
Thanks, this show is legendary. I HIGHLY recommend the flac version. "The Radar Watches Me From Above, Shouting Down - I Hope You Make It On This Earth."
