Just posted this on http://mysummerjacket.wordpress.com/ (http://mysummerjacket.wordpress.com/).

The nerd in me is pleased by your color-coding and percentages and use of "cuts" to categorize the songs. Nice.
Why is Steam Engine on twice...am I missing something?
Awesome post and very meticulously organized. I like it. Surprised Mahgeetah, Golden and Off the Record weren't in the "Prime Cuts" section. They seem to always play those songs.
But yeah, whats up with the double Steam Engine (like an acoustic version or something?)
The nerd in me loves this.
I'd bet there is just an extra space in one of the Steam Engine cells, so they got sorted separately in excel.
I'll fix it and repost, must have entered twice, so total the two for accuracy.
Very cool, from another nerd -- who noticed "Fist Light" ::)

You just can't help yourself ::)
Nice work man. It's odd that Highly Suspicious is later than OBH but I guess because you used the median? Is there going to be a spreadsheet battle? Where is BH?
nicely executed looks like the exact set list i just saw!
This makes me wanna see BH's spreadsheet (which I still have never seen).
I for one wouldn't mind a show of only "Deep Cuts"...

I don't think he'd mind. This is through March 7, 2011.

I like your take on recent setlists, MrB. Perhaps you can have fun with the whole entirety of data BH has for us. I wonder what the truly "prime" and "deep" cuts are, across the dozen years of MMJ-ness.
Hi this is TSarge's boss... what is this mind-numbing spreadsheet open on his computer screen, and why did his head just spontaneously explode?
damn i can't see that because i have a mac and dont have excel

I wonder how BH would feel about having his spreadsheet hosted on google docs, where his updates would be instantly available to the rest of us, who are hungry for such.

I will explore export possibilities so you too can view the spreadsheet. :)
Go to Google Docs (https://docs.google.com) (you'll have to create an account if you don't have gmail already), and upload the file, having it do its conversion. You can then publish it as a web page and provide the link to us. I tried with my copy, and it looks good!
(check your PMs, BH and ewind)
Thanks for all the feedback, would love to have any more data! feed me data!
I was just tracking the summer tour, may try to make some predictions. So, are MMJ predictable?

So, are MMJ predictable?

I like that answer!
Damn Butch Cassidy has been played so few times, Ifeel lucky to have seen it.
Cool spreadsheet, thanks for doing that...I hope we can check one by Cobra after Alpharetta!
very nice.
Thank you for this, I'm hoping "Nashville to Kentucky" pops up and specifically at the Indianapolis show!
CHIMMJFAN
Dondante needs to move up on the list!
Got it figured out.

Sweet! Now the task is to get all this into a relational database so we can do a website along the lines of Wilcobase (http://wilcobase.com/index.php)...which seems to have stagnated.
what do the "list" and "shows" things mean at the top above the year/tour? I figure shows means total shows played, but that means one big holiday has be played at less than half of their shows, which I have a hard time believing. Only 30 something times last year out of 50 something shows.
I don't have it in front of me right now but "shows" are the number of shows played and "lists" are number of setlists available, so obviously many are missing. Also, keep in mind this spreadsheet includes all Jim solo gigs, Monster of Folk, and other miscellaneous stuff so it throws some things off a bit. Someday I'm going to do a seperate one with just MMJ shows and no jim solo gigs but right now I use this to document everything.
Lovely set list stats MrB! Gotta say, the first time I saw BH's spreadsheet my mind was blown, oh my God. :D Glad to see it on Google docs. Keep up the spreadsheet work everyone, really appreciate it!
