Hi, i'm very new. I think I at least have a few posts under my belt. Maybe.
Anyway, i'm not just speaking in general, here. Does anyone think the band will try to pull off another T5-like event in the future? Yes, i missed this, and it's a bit self-centered to make a whole thread due to my misfortune but i don't think a day goes by that i don't think about missing that run..
So.. possibilities.. Well they can't wait until 10 and do that.. that's silly. isn't it? But what I am thinking is maybe between albums some time they can make a tour of doing a different album in each city. In some cities maybe do two or three.. Is there any precedence for this? Was there, really, for T5?
i know, i should probably just get over it. i can't.
no, there won't be.
once in a band's lifetime sort of thing.
sorry.
it was even better than you can imagine to have been there for all 5.

Wilco did a 5-night residency in Chicago, but mixed songs from all albums each night. Never heard of anyone doing anything bigger than that or T5 though. Once in a lifetime.
a 3-night west coast run, 2 albums each night in chronological order, no encores, covers or rarities.
Would you rather be at night 1 or 2?

shit thats a toughie... I dont care to see Z nearly as much as TTF or AD, but Rollin Back and One in the Same.....
No, I don't think there will ever be anything like it again. I wasn't there either, just couldn't swing it. I'm not bitter about it, I'm glad it happened even if I couldn't be there. But I don't see them doing 6 in a row or anything like that. I DO think they'll do awesome things like 3 night runs and what not though, which is pretty damn cool. I think the best things we could hope for in the future are either 3 nights in a row including a NYE in one of those nights (Black Keys have done it multiple years in a row in Chicago) or a PJ20 type thing where there is a crazy weekend dedicated to them that they play 2 four hour shows with 3 encores each and invite a bunch of friends for collaboration.
holy run on sentence
can you imagine that? A weekend that has Badu, Vedder, Sollee, Neko, M. Ward, Connor Oberst, Monsters of Folk, Wax Fang, other people I can't think of and TWO bonnaroo 2008 shows. They're gonna have to have a really good next 8 years to have MMJ20.

sadly, this is all true.
there will be other legendary once in a lifetime moments with mmj. T5 was epic.
T5 was once in a lifetime It was as good to live it as it continues to be in my memories.
I don't know how many times I thought this band couldn't topthemselves again. I've been wrong every time!!!!!!
I for one will never doubt them again.
No.
yes there will be. there will be multiple things that blow that 5 night snorefest away.
I refuse to believe there won't be anything cooler than T5 because that implies that the band has reached the summit.

maybe not the band, but i believe T5 and Red Rocks were probably the FANS' summit..
We'll have to dig this thread up again about the middle of next year.....and list all the ways they topped T-5.
How DO you top T-5?
1. A tour of the south where they only play in abandoned barns.

instead of playing all the songs over the course of 5 nights you play them all in one.

1. A tour of the south where they only play in abandoned barns.
2. A tour only for current Roll Call members where they only play at roller skating rinks.

Huh? Who could imagine Penny Lane travelling to different cities to follow a band?
Never happen. ;)

finally a reason to break out my roller skates and leg warmers!
I had my last birthday at a roller rink.
edit: I went more for the "derby" look, than the leg warmer look
