i knew someone would have posted this already.  i bought it  even though it goes against my usual rule of not having posters for shows i haven't attended -   that rule was broken last year after JYac so thoughtfully sent me the Portland poster.
If anyone was there, and wants it, let me know.  I just couldn't pass up "getting my groupon" with MMJ  ;D

So, I came in last night and looked at the main site these posters originated from.  They are all limited edition (MMJ limited to 100, sold out), signed, and numbered.  At that point, I got excited because I feel like I got a really good deal!  So, I get back on the groupon site, and see that it is not mentioned that any of the prints are signed/dated.  At that point, there were already a bunch of questions, and one of them was, are these signed/dated.  The artist responded that they were not, only the ones on the main site, which were regular price. ($40 for the MMJ).  I asked a question regarding why was that not mentioned in the description, and that they are not even the same product if one is signed/dated and the other is not.  It's not really a percentage off if they are not the same thing.  Needless to say, that question did not get posted (the vendor reviews all questions before posting the answer).  I do not know if he did not see it, or chose to ignore it.  It is still a very cool poster and certainly worth $15.  It will look great under a black light, in the glare proof glass.  It just seems like I fell for the Groupon trick again!!  Read the fine print, or in this case, just assume what you are getting a deal for is not the same thing you would purchase at full price.

Interesting info - thanks.   I was really surprised to see this Groupon as I knew the run was only 100 and couldn't imagine there were many left 18 months later.

I agree it's a good poster.

That makes me feel a little better.  As of last night, they had sold 120 of these through Groupon.  I wasn't annoyed, just a little disappointed I guess.  I would have gladly paid $40 for a signed/numbered copy, instead of a $15 print.  Although if I'd clicked on the actual site, those questions would have been answered for me.  I am now on a a quest for the 2006 Charleston show poster, as it was my first show.

another toughie w/ a 100 run.  I'll keep my eye open for you and good luck!   Of course, everytime you go to the "archive" section of the MMJ site it's staring at you....

Yea, that was a "lesson learned" that night.  Going in to the show, I saw a handbill poster that I was going to grab on the way out.  Of course, on the way out it was gone.  I did grab an Okonokos ad.  Since then, I've amended my ways and always grab the venure posterl asap coming through the door.  I've gotten Robert Earl Keen to sign a couple, Toad the Wet Sprocket/Big Head Todd, Drive By Truckers, etc.  Probably would not have caught MMJ that night post-show, but you never know.   I know this was a print, but I probably didn't even visit the merch table.  Again, lesson learned.  I tell you, and I know it is something everyone is aware of, but looking through gigposters, there are some AMAZING prints out there!  I love that Halloween print.  I remember Widespread Panic had a very cool Halloween print, with the Rice Krispie guys on it.

So, I got my poster over the weekend.  Very cool!  Can't wait to get it framed and under a blacklight.  Of the forum members that ordered it, what do you think?
