On my way

Thanks for all the updates and pics from yesterday's show. Going on sat. Night. The Cap. Looks like such a cool place. Can't wait to check it out..
Enjoy tonight show all. :)
just got done listening to the copy of last night show. Came out good. (AKG391 > Edirol R09-HR) on a 7ft stand behind board. Will be taping tonight with same as well as AT853hc > Zoom H4. Will post both shows Saturday to etree. Question, does anyone have a 2GB SD card I can borrow for tonight to tape on the second rig. I lost mine during flooding in sandy. I'll be behind the board not hard to miss. Can't be larger than 2GB. Thanks in advance. Great show last night can't wait to see tonight's surprises!

Can't speak about how last night's crowd was, but in general, MMJ has the nicest/most courteous fans of any band I've seen.
Just a few questions for sat. night..
Can you walk to any resturants? Like Coal..
We're they allowing any cameras that were a bit more than just a pocket type of camera?
Thanks for the help.
Enjoy tonight's show. :)

I just want to let you folks who went last night, and are going tonight, that only the people in Denver and LA have a clue as to how awesome your night will be. I am in my 50's, and the three nights at the Wiltern were the best concerts I have ever been to. Don't anticipate anything, it will just leave you with disappointment, and besides, they will probably play it tomorrow. (side note..I had to reboot my computer, and this site did not recognize me by name or email, so I set a new account up. You can probably guess my prior name)

Have fun, gang. I hope tonight's your cup of meat, my friends. I'm praying for a spectacular display of weirdness on part of both the band, and each one of you. I salute your shorts, and granny panties gang...
And if Penny Lane reads this...I hope you got that beige on stage last night...there were some real chances for those grandma tans, my fellow lady fan.
Someone get some butt shots too.

Interesting choice to open with mellower non-traditional openers and THEN bring the energy.
Dondante w/ some horns
Seriously, how could they not blow your mind with a 3 night no repeat? :cheesy: Of 100+ songs how many are duds? Most are spine tingling. A truly no lose situation.

It was pretty cool when they projected flames on the walls during this song... I like how they are using the visual aids available at the venue to flow with their songs, granted it takes your eyes from the band but it's a good distraction.

I did indeed catch that, and I gotta say I've seen these guys about a dozen times and that is something I will never forget. They went all Hotel California (that's what i call the face-to-face dueling guitars thing) and it was amazing. Can't wait for tomorrow night and NYE!
Carried Away. Just blown away. Definite highlight for me.
Can't wait for what tomorrow will bring.
I see why they had Touch Me Pt 2 as a closer last night. Great, great jam.
Wasn't the last night so I was damn impressed with the Cap.
So you guys got Rocket Man AND It Makes No Difference (their two best covers, IMO) as well as The Bear AND At Dawn and then Dondante AND I Think I'm Going To Hell ALL IN THE SAME SHOW?!?!?!? Throw some Dancefloors and Lowdown in there, too, and that is one sweet setlist!
Wow, night 2 looks like a doosey!
Every rose has its thorn during rocket man outro! Jim was on one tonight! Lowdown was incredible. 23 minute dondante, pww, touch me pt 2 all in one show, while still being very awesomely acoustic. Couldn't ask for more. Tomorrow will explode
Indeed night 2 really killed it. Wholely hell that was an insane set.
What a great crowd too. Everyone was so into it great energy.
See you all tomorrow.

In back tonight, relaxing and enjoying. Highlights for me tonight: Lowdown - I think the intro was kinda extended tonight, regardless it was a bit different than I'd ever heard it done and I thought it killed. Also, Carried Away - what an amazing song, heard it for the first time at The Wiltern, so have listened to it a bit since, but it just really grabbed me tonight. I think that it was not only an incredible version of the song, but tonight it just hit me how great the song is regardless of version. It kind of reminds me of an 'old' rock song, very kinda retro or just in a classic mode. It carried me away. Of course PWW was great, doing a variation of the version they seem to be playing since RR and I still love it.
Of course everything was great, I'm Amazed was it's usual 'even better live' self. Can't wait for tomorrow.
Thanks for the updates, wow!!!! That's an amazing set list.
Will be there tonight & can't wait to see what they pull out!!!!!!!

The heroin prolly came from the Phish show...I've been to a lot of shows from both bands, and I've never seen someone on dope at an MMJ show...of course, it's possible anywhere...but it's not part of the scene the way it is at a Phish show. You don't go to an MMJ show to do/find drugs. You go for the music.

Jesus...I could've listened to the piano/steel pedal at the end of Rocket Man for hours. That sound just seems to lay somewhere deep in the dormant reverie of my soul, and anytime they are played aloud...like in a Jerry Garcia or Paul Simon tune...it takes me to a Wonderful place. And I never liked Every Rose Has It's Thorn, until Jim sang it. Go figgur.

Based on the commentary at the beginning of the video, the guy behind the camera was pretty psyched to hear this as well
On the album and in all the live versions I've seen performed, Carl goes to the pedal steel about half-way through. This night he stayed on guitar throughout. A killer version!
GO4IT, I loved that commentary! It made me feel the night all over again. Damn, that was the best version of that song I've ever heard.
I was front row stage right to finish off these amazing 3 nights! I ended up throwing my 'Keep Calm and Rebuild Breezy Point' trucker hat to Jim. It drifted right and went behind the stage. I hope he picked it up on the way out! Keep an eye out for him wearing at any upcoming press or events supporting the Sandy relief efforts. Cheers!
Check out this video of One Big Holiday!!!

Easily the highlight of the 3 nights for me was this 3 song stretch:
Carried Away
It Makes No Difference

Bummed I am forced to watch the video of this over listening to my concert download since my RC code is not working. I first heard them play this at Merriweather 2010 and love where the song has come in its live performance. What a great guitar jam.
Once again, to Dillsnu and many others....thank you for these videos. I tend to take one or two at shows for me to save in my personal collection but didn't at these shows because I thought they'd be way more strict about it. So I'm glad I can still get videos of full songs from this fine board. You guys rock.

I'm always psyched to hear this song!
Great point about Carl normally going to pedal. I'm glad he chose not to on this night because he fucking rocked some killer solos during this version!

Totally agree with this!
this monster Dondante is really putting a wrench into my plans of fitting this onto two cdr's

Ha! I feel ya. To each their own. At Dawn is one of my top five tracks and Librarian one of my least faves (cliche lyrics).
haha. I was leaning toward cutting Librarian but then just decided to make it a 3 disc set
Don't think i could live with myself if i cut At Dawn

Hey ya'll, I've been lurking this forum for quite some time and finally decided to register and jump in on the fun. This was actually my first MMJ show and it was by far the best. First off, let me just say that they have the most amazing and nicest fans supporting them. I really felt like I was part of something that night. The main reason I'm posting right now is to ask for some help. I submitted a picture that I took that night to be featured in Relix Magazine. So, if you're interested definitely check it out and give it a vote if you like it! Thanks, guys. Also, I got lots of other pictures from that night if anyone is interested in seeing! :cool:https://www.wishpond.com/sbpc/40227?entry_id=3908&entry_type=PhotoEntry&sbid=488&type=Merchant (https://www.wishpond.com/sbpc/40227?entry_id=3908&entry_type=PhotoEntry&sbid=488&type=Merchant)

Welcome ashk1! I wasn't at 12/28, but was at 12/29, and that was the best (only because that was the only one of the three that i attended)
Thanks for the welcome, guys!
