Are the guys done for the rest of the year? ....Or is there hope for another summer or winter tour later in the year?
I think most of us are hopeful for a festival set or two, but that's purely speculation on our parts.
I think there will be shows but not necessarily a tour. I think they are curating Forecastle again, so I think there's a show there. But with Jim's record coming out next month, I guess he'll do a spring and fall tour. I am sure the rest of the group has some projects they would like to work before getting together for another record.
I'll continue to post any dates where MMJ or members of the band perform, as the news gets to me or as its posted here. I keep this on a public Google calendar that can be found here:

Aren't they recording a new album soon or something like that?
I could see Jim James doing his solo thing in the spring and summer (festivals like Roo, Newport, etc.). I'd love some more MMJ dates but I'm fine with a little break to build up my need to see them again.
I'm excited to see Carl in Chicago this month, then hopefully catch a few of Jim's solo shows in the spring time.
A Forecastle return would be great, but I'm really thinking 2014 early is when they will have the album finished and be ready to hit the road again.

They gave us an amazing 2011/2012. I'd imagine a show or two at the most.
Time to get to work on a new album in the fall or so, i'm thinking
Hopefully they'll be time now to work on releasing the T5 shows.

think what? that they might play shows in 2013? i am just basing that on the fact they haven't skipped an entire calendar year without playing at least 2 shows since the 90s. I think 2011 they just played 2 festies.

Bet Jim will do a spring tour to promote his new album and them back into the studio with MMJ. Let's hope for some Fall dates to try out some new material.
I'm hoping we get some MMJ shows in 2013, but not counting on it. It doesn't sound like there's anything on the horizon. Especially being with Mr. Whippy after the Sandy Benefit, and overhearing the "don't know when I'll see you again" comment among the band members.
I should be able to live of those 3 PC shows for at least 6 months. Those recordings are pretty sweet too.

Oh I definitely know that, and probably one of the many reasons why we get along so well. I just hoped to spare you the flashback,but like me it's probably scarred into the memory bank.
I'd be surprised if they did a lot of shows this year... a small fall tour would be nice....
I think Eric being done as Tour/Production Manager is a pretty good sign that this is the end of a touring cycle.
Plus they hit most of the big markets in 2011 and again in 2012.
Based on The Evil Urges tour, the group took quite some time off. After NYE 2008 they played a few shows in Australia, and then took a break from Spring/Summer of 2010. Between touring behind Circuital, Spontaneous Curation Series, and this NYE run, I would not be surprised if the boys take a relatively long break :cry:. Don't fret, Jim will probably tour behind his new album and will probably incorporate Jacket songs into his set.
Only 31 days and 3 hours. Not that I could be more excited or anything.
Wait... So people really believe they will play at Forecastle?! I would love nothing more than for their return there!! It should be an annual tradition.
A Nashville show would be awesome considering Soundland 2012 got canceled. They could play the Ryman! We'll likely get Jim solo shows and a full-band show for Forecastle.
Fell in love with Louisville while there for Forecastle, would go back in a heartbeat.
