Man I love this song! If I could play the guitar I sure as hell would like to learn this track!
Sorry dudes, I needed to post in the Tabs section to have my name as last post on all six parts of the forum...
(how drunk/much of a prick am I?)

Hi guys!

I think this is the right section for this...

I'm desperately looking for "Where to begin" tabs and lyrics. Can you help me please?
That's an incredible song... I've searched the Net, but... nothing.

By the way... can you tell me if this song is gonna be inserted into an album?

Thank you!

I was wondering if any of our tab masters are working on this? I've tried playing it out, but I'm rather clueless. For whatever reason I was trying to put a capo near the 2nd or 3rd fret and play the chords out... no luck.

i had never really listened to this song until last night, and i have no idea why because this song is amazing. i dont know how its played exactly, but from what i figured out real quick this will get you the basic sound:

CAPO 1:

Verse (pretty much the whole song) is:

C----Csus4----C-------Csus4--C (x2) then

F------F*---------F---------F---------- (x1)

Csus4=x332010
F*====1220010
(leave the high string open on the regular F as well)

then for the one part of the song thats different (i dont know what to called it):

"how can i..."
Am*---Am---Am*----Am-----G-----------------(x2)

Am*=x02211

"its the art of feeling naked..........."           "clothes"

F*--------------------------------F------------------C

hope this makes sense. hope it helps.

correction:

Csus4=x33010

and

F*=133010 (bass string with thumb)

sorry i didnt realize these typos til now.

Can anyone get a nice tab typed out for this? It really bugs me that I can't get the chords to sound even remotely right.

My hope is that it will get tabbed out once the dvd comes out and everyone will have a chance to watch him play it... I tried to figure it out but was fruitless in my efforts...

sorry i've dropped the ball on this one guys.  i've never really given it a good try even though we've had a lot of requests.  I have the DVD where they play this and you can see his hands pretty well, so once I find the time to sit down with it I'll get a tab posted.

I believe C# tuning. Not sure exactly how Jim tunes his guitar, but I'll be listening and watching that dvd to get it figured out.

Acoustic Chorale. Check 'The Music' board for more on that.

ok. i've been working on this but have hit a wall.  let's see if we can tag team this one and get it figured out. i've had a lot of requests for it, and it's a toughy.  Here's what I've got, the tuning and some chords:

tuning:
C#G#C#F#A#D#

C#1 – 055430
C#2 – 054000
C#sus - 055000
G#1 – 550430
x09990
G - 220033
A – x02220

Up and up and up I climb
When I came up I was so far behind
G#1
My head takes a lickin'
But my heart keeps on tickin
Just the same

Always startin' over but somehow
I always know where to begin

Round and round and round I ride
And just when I looked I hadn't even began
To feel the effect
A cool, dark fever
On the brain

That feelin' takin' over
Like a holy rollercoaster
To the grave

G
How can I await the day
A
The last the night I'm here to see
G..............................................A
How do I await the mother load
G..........................................................C#1
It's the art of feelin naked in your clothes

Again, again, again I tried
That's how I knew I would never be denied
That face in the mirror
Who could it be, it was my own

That cool, dark figure
That's when I knew I was alone

On and on and on I drive
when will I know I've finally arrived
So far I've gone, so far to go
It never ends

Always startin over but somehow I always know where to begin
Always startin over but somehow I always know where to begin
Always startin over but somehow I always know where to begin

That's what it looks like his fingers are doing but does it sound right?  i'll have to try it.  I agree that the "up and up" verse seems to be very high on the neck, but is the other verses the same?  you can't see his hands on the first verse and the guitar is down in the mix.  maybe I can track down a solo version of this song.  we'll get this one figured out yet!

Why don't you go back and edit it so I know excatly which ones to change.  Good work on this tab.  I think I may make a few changes and reformat it a bit and then it'll finally be ready to throw on the website.  Hopefully we can get it on there this week. Thanks!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
jim and his crazy tunings!!!

I was confused as to how to tune and found this:

For Drop C# tuning, Tune the Low E string of open E tuning DOWN (loosen the string) to a C# (A whole step and a half. The steps go from E to Eb/D# to D to Db/C#, which is 3 half steps or a whole step and a half). Then you tune all other strings DOWN one half of a step. Therefore, you will have your strings tuned like this:
Open E-----tuned down to----Drop C#
E --> C#
A --> G#
D --> C#
G --> F#
B --> A#
e --> D#
