Title: Jim spring tour poster
Post by: tippitoes22 on Apr 17, 2013, 06:48 PM
Looks like its a stock poster with all the spring tour dates on it.
Standing in front of the brown theater. Got here early after the port chester poster madness.
Guess I'll have to be happy with JUST a good seat
To a good show.
Cheers

Feel like I should clarify. STOKED for the show.
Specific date Poster would've just been gravy!

Hate to spread disinformation. The posters WERE numbered up to 500. The lady at the merch table said she was only given 100 for tonight's show. I will now stop messaging myself in order to NOT cause any MORE confusion.

I was hoping there would be something for these dates, fingers crossed that there might be ones specific for certain shows.

Thanks John.

I was hoping for something more along the lines of the New Multitudes one.  The poster itself is pretty cool, but all the writing of the tour name, and dates spoils this one a bit for me.

I think its a bad idea having the text reach the borders, both for Jim's name and the album title, which should have been broken up into two lines.  Just sayin'...

I like it, but the font or writing looks off centered?  Oh well...I took a great pic of Jim at The basement, and my friend who is a union printer is going to print me a poster of it.  So I'll have my one of a kind - hopefully........

Keeping in mind I haven't yet seen this in person, I must say this is underwhelming. It looks amateurish. I still hope to buy one at the show but can't help but feel disappointed.

not a fan of that print at all.  Keeping my hopes high for the Fillmore freebie.

wow - I don't get it. He could have hand picked from any number of artists, and this is what we get? For the FIRST time ever, I may not [wait for it]....

Buy a poster at the show....WOW.

Fell about the same, but I know I'll cave, and pick one up.

It's along the lines of the St.Augustine, MPP ones from spring 2010 to me. I've got  one from every show I've been to also, and intentionally breaking that streak just won't feel right. Might set off some bad joojoo.

Ah, right, those cloned posters from Spring 2010.  I have one from Birmingham, Nashville, and Atlanta.  Ugly to start with and yet I caved.

Probably the signed album lithograph (http://jimjames.com/store/product/signed-lithograph), as per Jim's web store...

I agree Johnny. At least they changed the color on those. even though they were cloned, and pretty generic, they remind me of the old fashioned "billboard" announcement type of poster from back in the day.

and to those of us trying to get the complete mmj collection, imagine having to buy all of them.  ouch!  and then finding a few nights had multiple versions (different colors!!) double ugh!!

This poster was a huge disappointment. I wasn't even slightly tempted to purchase one.

I would've loved to see something with an Art Deco vibe for this tour.

Wait, what? No way!   I knew those five or six shows had the same poster only in different colors, but I had no idea some nights had multiple versions.  definitely a double oucher. Glad I got lucky, and the ones I went to only had one color for each night. They'll probably stay in the portfolio, and be the last ones to get framed, if at all.

While those posters are really generic, and far from my faves, they do hold the memory of a couple of great shows for me.  St. Augustine with my daughter and maybe 2,000 other peeps in a tiny Amp, and MPP on Kentucky Derby Day, with the PHJB, and then OBH opening both shows!

Yea, the St. Aug show was pretty spectacular...the weather that night was perfect for MMJ, cool & windy with storms threatening. And it was my first MMJ show excluding Bonnaroo 08
