Check out the first band on the 4th row down. I know what I want to fill in there....

Tom Jones? (it's Not Unusual)
That would be quite a step up to have JJ that low on the line up, no?
Well C3 bought it so that makes sense now
The first band could be The Beatles
Rumors are flying that it's The Strokes and Wilco at the top. Alabama Shakes fits in up there pretty good too.
I would love me some unfiltered comedy though....
They added a "B" and Jim James still works! (Along with a million bands called "The _____"
What's with the huge third line band name? What band has a name that long with 6 words?
Also, does anyone know what the black name means further down the list?

I'm guessing its "Joe Smith and the something somethings"
No Idea what the black blocks are.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, which is definitely what it is.
If Wilco and Jim are there, I can see myself going to this
Trampled by Turtles is definitely one of them
This is the line up that I've figured so far...
The Strokes
Wilco
The National
Alabama Shakes
Ed Sharpe
Jim James
Local Natives
Toro y Moi
Trampled By Turtles

Nice. I couldn't come up with anything but Wilco, AL Shakes, The Strokes and Hopefully (fingers crossed) Jim.
I might do this. I'll be in Iowa City by then. How far is St. Lou?
EDIT - looks like 4.5 hours, so 3.5 - 4 hrs. the way I drive.
If the Strokes are there, that would be a nice unique get for this festival season. Great time of year for road-trippin', September is!
However, I could also see the top band being the Killers.

Don't you dare say that!

Are you moving to Iowa JY? That would be awesome if you came to the Lou!

Yup. And I see kids under 12 free, so it would be an easier sell. You got room for 5?
Not really but I could probably make it work! Remind me how old your girls are again? I've got 6 (boy), 8 and 10.
I was kidding. That's too much to ask. My girls are 4 (almost 5), 9, and 11.

I don't know, it would be kind of fun if I could convince the wifey. Either way it would be great having you and the kids at the festival. Let's just hope J I M J A M E S gets filled in shortly and we'll go from there!
Well, I'm getting ahead of myself, but those $75 early bird tix look mighty tasty. $150 for a family of 5 to attend a festival is a bargain, though we won't be rail camping. I'll start working of wifeYYac, too.

Should this be correct, I'd be pretty darn happy!
Me too 3rd. I love music trips to St. Louis, and that would be a damn good line up for 75$

With that lineup, even the regular $95 would be a steal! I guess we'll just have to wait for three more hours for the official announcement.
JJ! And the bidness!!!
The Killers
Wilco
The National
Alabama Shakes
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
Jim James
Local Natives
Fitz And The Tantrums
Toro Y Moi
Twin Shadow
Trampled By Turtles
WALK THE MOON
Ra Ra Riot
Court Yard Hounds
Icona Pop
Youngblood Hawke
Robert DeLong
Jukebox The Ghost
Wild Belle
The Mowgli's
Brick + Mortar
Desert Noises
Space Capone
Wild Cub
J. Roddy Walston & The Business
Andrea Davidson
Modoc
The Lonely Biscuits
Kentucky Knife Fight
Tef Poe
Except J Roddy, I'm not really familiar with anything below Trampled By Turtles. Anybody want to sell me on something in that area?
Space Capone is pretty good according to my husband who doesn't like much music. So take that for what it's worth. (I'm not helping much)
Space Capone is fun. They arent gonna be your new favorite band though
Pretty bummed about the Killers but still looks like a pretty strong top half.
It saddens me that festivals have to pretend that The Killers is a bigger deal than Wilco to sell more tickets. Or that people think The Killers are a big deal in general. I liked Mr. Brightside when I was in 6th grade...

Wow, that last statement made me realize how young you really are, EC. That was the only Killers album I've loved. After that one, I've been amazed that they still have a career.

I dont care for The Killers or the Strokes, so that doesnt affect me either way. I'll definitely be keeping this in mind

Hmmm... I haven't been to St. Louis area since high school. Wheels turning. Thats a fantastic line-up. Plus no festivals in my sights yet that I can work into my schedule.

You had me at "Hmmmm"!
and don't count me out, yet...
I plan on this, forsure. its just so far away...
Tickets bought. I live in St. Louis, and MMJ (and Jim James), Wilco, and the National are my top 3 favorite acts at the moment. Easiest concert decision I've ever made.

Nice! I think I'm going to move this topic to MMJ>SHOWS since it's confirmed Jim is In.
So I have two extra tickets for loufest... Anyone interested? I bought them at early bird price, so $75 per ticket instead of the $95 they are being sold for now, so you could save some money. They are both two day passes.
I told my new job I could start saturday, forgetting about this. Dammit

MOWJO8185, let us know if those sell. I might be interested but its short notice, a 4-hour drive, and I already told the wife I'd let this one go...
I did sell them this AM, thanks for the interest.
Had a great time at Loufest on Saturday. Jim played the standard set. First time seeing J Roddy and I really want to see them in a proper club show. For me, The National was the best set of the day. They might be my favorite live act right now. Perfect combo of huge sound and also playing the songs I really like from them right now (basically how I felt about MMJ during the Z tour.)
Got to meet Jim in the autograph tent and he took a picture with my 9 and 3 yr old daughters. He seemed so genuinely nice and actually acted like he enjoyed meeting the fans and wanted to be doing nothing else. By comparison, we also met J Roddy and the Biz, and while they were completely fine and not jerks by any means, they just didn't quite have the peaceful glow that Jim had during the process. Makes me appreciate him all the more!!!
Need setlist!
I'm pretty sure it was....
