Title: Tom Blankenship in the movie Mud
Post by: roberthunter on Apr 28, 2013, 08:06 PM
Ok, not really, but there is a character named Tom Blankenship

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1935179/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1935179/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1)

Kind of a random name for it to be a coincidence.

Yeah I wanted to see that movie, because Ben Nichols is one of my favorite current musicians so I figured his brother could be talented too.

I watched Mud last night and am not surprised to find a thread about this.

Tom Blankenship is also the real name of the person that the character Huckleberry Finn is based on. The Tom Sawyer books took place on the Mississippi River, same as the movie Mud.

Interesting to know.  Thanks.  But if the director's brother is in Lucero, there could be a dual reason why the character was named Tom Blankenship.
