Does anyone know the solo for this song?  I've been working on it but it's taking a while.

My Morning Jacket - One Big Holiday
"It Still Moves"
transcribed by:
Aaron Fidler (finandler@musician.org)

TUNING: STANDARD
EFFECTS: REVERB (EXTREMELY HEAVY!)
         DISTORTION (BLUESY/CLASSIC ROCK)

This tune is pretty easy. The only difficult part is getting the intro down, but it's quick to learn.
I Think the song is awesome, definetley one of the best songs I've heard in a long time. By the way
this is my first tab so bear with me. Theres probably a few mistakes, I just tabbed it out today.

It starts out with the hi-hat cymbal for 4 measures

Then into the guitar intro (1 of 2 guitars) 8 measures (really fast)

[size=10]

e---------8-----8-----8-----8--------|-------10------10------10------10---|
B-----6h8---6h8---6h8---6h8----------|--8h10----8h10----8h10----8h10------|
G------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
D------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
A------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
E------------------------------------|------------------------------------|

e-------12-------12-------12-------12|-------12-------12-------12-------12|
B-10h12----10h12----10h12----10h12---|-10h12----10h12----10h12----10h12---|
G------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
D------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
A------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
E------------------------------------|------------------------------------|

Then there's 16 Measures of the intro plus bass
G------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
D------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
A------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
E---1-1------------------------------|---3-3------------------------------|
    (F)                                  (G)

G------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
D------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
A------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
E---5-5------------------------------|---5-5------------------------------|
(A)                                 (A)

then there's 16 Measures of the bluesy guitar solo w/ the F-G-A rhythm

e------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
B-------10---10----------------------|--------12---12---------------------|
G----9b---------9r-------------------|----12b---------12r-----------------|
D------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
A------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
E------------------------------------|------------------------------------|

e------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
B--------12---12---------------------|--------12---12---------------------|
G----14b---------14r-----------------|----14b---------14r-----------------|
D------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
A------------------------------------|------------------------------------|
E------------------------------------|------------------------------------|

Then to the verse...
G               F  E
wakin up feelin good and limber
                     D
when the telephone it ring
G               F              E
was a bad man from California
                     D
tellin of a stone he'd bring

G

F      G      A
and of better days
F            G          A
from this town, we'd escape
F             G               A
if we holler loud and make our way
F             G            A
we'd all live one big holiday
G                 F             E
so we listened and up the river
                    D
and recorded all the sounds
G                       F              E
was some shakin and some record playin
                          D         G            F          E             D
all the leather kids were loooooooooooooooooooooooud

Then a guitar solo over F-G-A for a couple measures, just remember bend and release
like crazy—think blues rock.

Then the intro for a few more measures then the intro moves up the neck
and gets a little funky with a bit of soloing added w/ it. I'm not totally sure of the right way

Finally the intro on 2 guitars plus bass & hi-hat for 12 measures then it slows
down to finish for 14 seconds to a

Dude, thats a great tab, i will try to tab out the solo later.
the only thing is your em, and dm chord shapes are wrong. the chords you put there are majors. the chords in the song are Em(x79987), Dm (x57765)

Cool, thanks Riny!

Guitarist Jim Jones often plays his Gibson Flying V on "One Big Holiday."    ;D

Well, that solves the controversy of the first chord of the chours, C or F.  It turns out it's a F with a C in the root.  That makes sense.

Thanks for posting, Riny.
