I'm pretty bummed about this. and not really inclined to trudge through an urban festival at Randalls instead

meh - very light bill that doesn't justify what will likely be a 1.5hr set of Jacket
Mountain Jam needs to break out of the same ol same ol funk they are in.

Agreed. I went last year, enjoyed myself entirely. There is a certain element of fan that is very nostalgia based and really doesn't want to see them branch out. And that is their bread and butter so I think it's not likely to change. Whenever a band played that was less than 10 years old, I would hear murmurs of, "this sucks, bring on Mule!" And those were my friends!

you have the best handle on the forum. or any forum for that matter
Thanks, e_wind.
i was hoping for some mmj at mtn jam this year too. o well!
that said, i thought the lineup looked pretty stacked. i would love to see robert plant on the mountain, and benjamin booker is fantastic (for those that haven't heard him yet). also late night budos band could be pretty stellar.
maybe we'll get mmj at gathering of the vibes? fingers crossed!
