Title: STL>KC>RR or We've Got the Runs: Flyover Country Edition
Post by: Crispy on Mar 05, 2015, 09:10 PM
Any other of you wonderful people planning to make the glorious run from St. Louis to Red Rocks, with a nice stop in Kansas City in between? Pre- and post-show gatherings will be in order, and possibly caravans. But I have to wait five whole months?! Good thing there's that Athens>Knoxville run early on...

:cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

What's the driving time between these cities?

What's the driving time between these cities?

Just 3.5 hours from STL to KC, and only 8 short hours from KC to Denver. Easy!

I'm in for the STL>KC leg!    Blame no RR on Mexico....but you can't be mad at Mexico.

Definitely doing STL and RR, but wondering about seating for KC.  Thinking about making that one our 7 year old daughter's first MMJ show.  Seems like the perfect setting with the castle-like structure and all.

I'm wondering, though, is that GA or reserved?  Looks like it could be GA due to only one price point on the tix, compared to the Styx show where there are 4 levels of prices and 4 seating sections.

I'll never be mad at you, Mexico, even if you keep BH from Red Rocks. I could blame Ol' Mex for keeping me from Chicago, but I won't.

Good eye, Stevie -- I had assumed that KC would be reserved and maybe have a pit. But with that one price point, I like your thinking that it might be all GA, which would be fantastic! That would enable me to focus on getting good seats at St Louis in the presale.

Yes!   I'm doing STL tix first as well.   But if I was everybody else, I'd do STL last.   ;)

When is Roll Call tix for red rocks?

That will be at 11 our time. But those will be GA (at least they better be!), and won't sell out fast.

Yeah, stl is the one to shoot for first.  But ill be doing red rocks almost simultaneously just to make sure.

Each presale starts at 10 local time for the venue, so Red Rocks will start an hour later than St Louis and KC.

Another factor for me is the will call situation -- if RR is will call in the presale, I'll wait to get my ticket so that it can be mailed to me. Don't want to waste valuable tailgating time with having to hike down the hill to get that ticket.

Doh!  And i even typed out a list of onsale dates/times.  Yeah stl is taking a backseat to chicago in that case.  But from my memory stl doesnt seem to sell as fast as other cities and i think the peobody will have plenty of great seats.

That's my plan as well; that will call situation is a huge bummer.

Eric! See you there? It's gonna be a JFW reunion!

Yet another thing, the 8-hour drive from KC is going to cut into tailgating time too. But we gain an hour crossing into Mountain time! I'm all about logistics, man.

If I remember right, some of the fees are a little higher on the roll call sale too, so if show is all GA, I would recommend buying at ticketmaster.

Nah Chris, sorry to say I'm gonna have to pass. If it was multiple nights at RR I'd go but gonna try for Chicago instead. Then hopefully a multi nighter on the West Coast in the Fall/end of the year.

Starlight in KC is one of the most amazing venues. There's no pit, but there is a Producer's Circle that puts you right in front of the band. I'm trying to decide on either StL to KC or KC to RR...still uncertain. All I know is that I cannot wait to see dem Louisville boys once again!

Went extremely well for me.   Got 4 pit tix for STL and 12th row center in KC.   The other pleasant surprise is the tickets were actually cheaper than the ticketmaster tix.   Win win.

Scored a pair of 3rd Row Center for Starlight, going to hit up Ticketmaster to score GA Pits for St. Louis  :)
