MMJ headline Friday. I live 90 minutes south of this fest, so I don't really need the camping. I'll be bringing my pal, Travis. He likes MMJ but is a live Jacket virgin.

Way to go John!
I'm happy you'll get to see the guys in your new home state, and almost hit your signature right on the head.
Enjoy the show, and see you in Chicago.

Thanks, Eric! I'm psyched to have Travis see his first live MMJ show, and I think this festival is a good starting point. With Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes) and Marcus Mumford around, maybe we'll get some New Basement Tapes (likely, I should think)!

Thanks, Eric! If you lived closer, I'd gladly let you be my +1, though I'm psyched to have Travis see his first live MMJ show, and I think this festival is a good starting point. Great news for you, John! Have a blast. And please catch Jim if he falls off the stage again since you'll no doubt be on the rail.
Thanks, Rob!
I'm wondering if anyone else will add their names to this here Roll Call... :undecided:
Not sure I'm rail-ready yet. I've got a couple more months to train, however.
Congrats, JY! I hope you get some Basement Tapes!!!!
BTW, I thought of you the other day when I was driving to Starved Rock to see waterfalls...how far are y'all from there?

I will be johnnYYac's plus 1. As he said, I am a live show virgin. I just listened to the entire studio album collection over the last week and we had quite the Facebook feed about my experience. Needless to say, I am now a bigger fan of the band and I am super excited to go to this show. Hopefully it is my first of many with my good friend John.
My wife and I will be there. I think this will be my 14th show, her 8th, both counts are inflated due to two OBH's. Bringing some other friends of various exposure. We're from the Quad Cities so it's a rare treat to have a good show so close to home. Hoping to get some of my friends hooked on the greatness they've been missing out on.

We are going! Think it will be our 17th show. We are taking our kids (ages 4 & 6) to their first Jacket show ex utero . Decided to go in a whim a couple of weeks ago since my birthday is Thursday, but we may still be recovering from Bonnaroo. Hope to catch up with some of you!

Tickets for this are ridiculously cheap right now on Stub Hub. $45 for a 2 night pass plus camping. This is a savings of about $160. I don't think it sold that well.
Yeah, their site explicitly said "No single day tickets will be sold." Then, last week, they announced SINGLE DAY TICKETS!!! Granted, they are expensive at $85 for Friday and $120 for Saturday, but include camping one night.
A poor turnout will not bode well for future events in Iowa, be it MMJ or any other band. Too bad. The Iowa City/Cear Rapids area is almost exactly 4 hours drive from Chicago, Minn./St. Paul, Madison, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Omaha, and Kansas City. This area would be a great stopover (see what I did there) for tours to any of the above cities. But, the people have to show up. Looks like, instead, I'll be the one driving four hours...
Have a blast everyone, can't wait to hear some reports!
