Absolutely no chatter about this one. Such an amazing venue! Taking all the whole fam to this one.

amazing venue minus very early curfew and very aggressive sound level restrictions

Glad it's not just me beating that drum. Crazy Horse was so muted 10 years ago it was like a cover band at a church festival. I'm going with 8 others, half MMJ virgins.

I dunno, I found the sound to be just fine, and plenty loud, at Phish last year.  And over the course of the two shows I was right up front and in the very back row of the venue, never had an issue with the sound or volume.

The curfew thing is great for us, since we're bringing the kids and will be driving home 3 hours after the show, on a school night.

I am thinking about going to this cause I'll be down the coast about 2 hours.
But I don't know much about the venue

Have you seen pics? The venue is absolutely incredible and historical as well. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, amazing views from the top. It's nestled in some foothills in a very affluent neighborhood, thus the 10 pm curfew and sound restrictions. But I honestly didn't notice any lack of sound when I was there for phish last October. Place is incredible!

11 PM curfew. MMJ shut it down at exactly 11 in 2011. Very much like a California Red Rocks. The Crazy Horse show was the most significantly toned down show I ever saw there, and Ive seen about 20 or more top draws there over the years.

The venue is awesome and kind of picturesque.  The beer was a lot cheaper than Nashville.  I parked a couple of blocks away to save money and walked up the hill.

I figured with the curfew, they might start out really rocking as they had a time frame.  That they did!  Steam Engine!

I met up with an MMJ facebook friend, and she shared the rail with me.  The sound was excellent and at times they rocked so hard I really couldn't believe it!  I mean, I know it's what they're known for, but even knowing that, I was blown away by this show!

I had a short drive up the coast as I was staying with Family near Faria Beach...What a blast.  I'd go again in a heartbeat.

Faria Beach. Heart of the Rincon. My favorite part of this area.

Agree that sound was fine at SB, but I was on the rail, so perhaps different for others. They started early enough that the curfew didn't seem an issue. Other than the fact that none of us ever want the band to stop playing. Sound and setlist at the SDSU show a week later were phenomenal!
