So, I downloaded the torrent of Jim James and M. Ward at St. Davids at this years SXSW festival...does anyone know if the song Wonderful(the way I feel) is a cover or? is a new original song by Jim??? I must know! and I must also find lyrics for it! can anyone help me with either of these things? This is my first post so any help would be much appreciated.
-Zachariah
Isn't it beautiful? It is an original, once thought to be on the new album, but I guess it didn't make the cut. It has been played live a few times, I saw it at the Bridge School Benefit last October.
Thats all I know, besides that
"I feel so wonderful, wonderful, wonderful the way I feel."
Im going where there aint no police
one of their best...
i'm goin where there ain't no need... to escape from what is --only spirits at ease...
Definitely original. I saw/heard it at The Rudyard Kipling show last year. It actually hung in my head for a few weeks after that, and I wondered if it was a cover or not, just because of how familiar it sounds.
What's funny is that occasionally when I sing (always singing around the house-my daughter loves it) I stumble upon "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton. When I get to the part where he goes, "I feel wonderful, because I see the love light in your eyes..." I always go, "I feel wonderful, wonderful, wonderful the way I feel!"
We all get a kick out of it, then go get ice cream! :D
Alright folks, this is what i've gotten so far on my own.
Chorus
I feel so wonderful, wonderful, wonderful the way I feel x2
1st verse(the most problematic for picking out lyrics, someone help!)
Doesn't matter to me, I could take it or leave it.
(The next 2 lines i cant really get, then these 2 lines.... like a ?? forest, on a ?? on the beach)
When ? older, You get lost in the heat.
Chorus x2
2nd verse(much easier)
It matters to me, Took a long time to get here.
If it would have been easy, I would not have cared.
With the sun on my shoulders, and the wind at my back
I will never grow older, at least not in my mind.
Chorus x4
Bridge
I'm goin where there aint no fear, I'm going where the spirit is near.
I'm goin where the livin is easy, and the people are kind, a new state of mind.
I'm goin where there aint no disease, I'm going where there aint no police
I'm goin where there aint no need to escape from what is, only spirits at ease.
also, for anyone who's interested in the guitar work...it goes as follows. Capo on 1st fret(all chords relative to capo)
Chorus:C Bm C D G
C Bm Am D G
1st Verse: C G C G
C Bm Am
C G C G
C Bm Am
Repeat Chorus Chords
2nd Verse same as 1st
Repeat Chorus Chords x2
Bridge: C G C G
C Bm Am D
C G C G
C Bm Am D(hold)
Instrumental is built around all these chords.
Phew! that was a lot of work, I really want to play this song at an open mic night on wednesday...If someone could please help with the 1st verse lyrics I would kiss your feet, thats right your feet. :D
one of the lines in the first verse is "like a cop on the beat" where you have beach...
I need to listen to it now
those two lines are very rough to get without headphones but then it goes like so...
like a tropical forest, like a cop on the beat
When all is in order, You get lost in the heat.
there was an earlier post about this as well...
lyrics and all...
the bridge school benefit version is solid as well...
