Thanks ericm!
That will help out a lot! I probably can't get on the computer tomorrow for the pre-sale while at work, so this will help out with the whole missed out on the killer seats thing.
Thanks again!
You got it. Good luck.
For Ryan Adams last year it was GA but for Wilco a month later it was assigned seating.
I'd much rather have seats than GA just bc these 2 nights will be sold out for sure.
Still, so very excited to see them at such a small venue...more like 20 minutes from my house! :)
Not a bad seat in the house though really.
I love this place! Such great news on a Monday!

Tickets secured: relatively painless this time.
I was able to get Friday before it bombed out on me for Thursday. Both nights were in my cart somehow then only Friday went through.
That was about as easy as it gets. I guess the next 40 or so minutes will tell us how it went overall.

I have another presale password from my WFPK membership that's different from the Production Simple promotion password. PM and I'll send it you
i feel a little guilty, i already have four for both nights. just trying to help a couple of friends get in, too. i'll be using the WFPK member password, i hope that allows me to have them mailed out instead of left at will call.
How long until someone posts about buying Friday tickets twice?
I got 2 for Thursday and my boyfriend got two for Friday!!
THRILLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like they went as quickly as they did Tuesday. Hope everyone got what they needed!

Looks like there are still WFPK tickets available. Use "fracture"
Gonna try tomorrow, but it is hard when surrounded by little ones...if anyone has +1 for each night, please let me know!
Thanks for posting the radio presale password. I thought I was out of luck but was able to get 2 using that route

no, still tix available thru wfpk....fracture
Thursday tix are still showing up. Anyone want to trade 2 Thurs for 2 Friday( I need Friday).
what is the link to that one?? It's nowhere on the wfpk site
It is the same link as the other presale, just a new password.
Super frustrating. I have been a roll call member for a year. All 3 times I have tried to take advantage of presales, I have struck out literally the second the clock struck sale time. Waste of money.
I have two Thursday tix in my que if anyone wants them. Let me know by 1030.

I looked just out of curiosity, 20 minutes after the regular on sale..

Yep. I got Thursday tickets secured right away and then went to secure Friday tickets and they were already showing none available at 10:05?! I waited and kept refreshing the webpage and finally about 10:20 I was able to get 2 tickets for the Friday show!!! :cheesy:

that's awesome, i would have given up and been crying in my coffee.
i can't believe tickets are still available for thursday. i understand why friday would be more popular for the casual fan, but when given the opportunity to see back to back shows like this, you gotta jump on it.
now for the big question:
will there be roll call early entry? i called the box office, lady i spoke to said will call would be open all day, but she had no idea if early entry would be offered. guess we have 15 weeks to find out.
Truly there is not a bad seat in the house!
I have been on the far sides before and been in the uncovered part close to the back.
It's a small enough venue that I will be happy regardless. Not sure yet if I am going to take either day off work and try to get there early or not...

i just happened to be off work this week. made it easy to score tickets.
and my next week off.....the week of the shows! very fortunate timing. i hope there's early entry, but at least i'm free to stand in line all day if necessary. i agree just being there will be good enough, but i at least want to be under the roof, just in case.
Looks like all tickets a hard sell out for both nights now. I hope everyone still looking finds them from someone friendly instead of having to pay some gross amount from StubHub.
Iroquois is awesome and this will be an amazing two nights!
I got Thursday tickets, but I was not able to snag two for Friday before they sold out. I should have bought them in reverse order. They sold out in minutes.
Managed to snag two each for Thurs and Fri for my brother and me. First time seeing MMJ despite loving them for years and living in KY, the timing had just never worked out before! Even cooler that it's gonna be at Iroquois.
Just saw that both nights are now sold out
I'm curious if they would consider adding a third night now? Maybe I'm getting greedy? lol
CHIMMJFAN
I'm not surprised to see both nights sold out, just surprised it happened so quickly! I mean Friday's were gone in less than 20 minutes?!
I can't freaking wait as this venue looks awesome!!!
Sucks there's already so many Friday's up on StubHub for over double face, but not even a listing for Thursday.
Whoooo hooooo! Got em! Last show Manc, UK!
If you don't have tickets yet, dont freak out and buy them on stub hub for an outrageous cost. The prices will go down as the show gets closer and there will always be a couple people on here who end up having to cancel and want to sell for face.
lol at the Iroquois Amphitheater homepage. They have the normal slideshow format for a venue website and it switches between two event pages: My Morning Jacket (12th), and My Morning Jacket (13th) both having the exact same picture. Not making fun of them I just think it's cute.
By the way, does anyone think there is a realistic possibility that they add another night?
A Saturday show would be sweet!

They're headed to Shaky Knees for either Sat or Sun. Adding a Sat Iroquois show would mean playing 4 nights in a row which they never did last year. They seem to be touring "smarter" to not get burnt out.
Craigslist has 4 tix for Thurs. 5/12 available, FYI

Looks like Jacket will be the Saturday night headliner at SK...
GREAT info about the 4 night thing. That makes a lot of sense. Now we can all plan our travel with the peace of mind that we won't be missing anything should they have decided to play Wednesday as well.
I wonder what kind of setlists this mini tour will bring. Last tour, Jim was noted as saying he was sick of covers, but in light of recent events it's possible we get some Bowie or some Eagles.
No thanks on the covers. Just give me all Jacket songs please... Preferably many pre Z!

You have to figure, if ever there were a situation where they could get away with a setlist full of incredibly deep cuts it would be their home town on a two-nighter on a small tour after they have already promoted their album on a seperate full tour. That said, the thing to always keep in mind is that they spent years and years playing those songs already and it may be more fun for them to play fresh material.
Did I miss anything selecting the print at home option? Are any of them cool prints or run of the mill tix stock?
Cool. Take your barcode off just in case someone can take it!!
3 months to go.
still hoping for some confirmation on early entry to these shows. hate to spend hours in line, but I will if necessary. we were 5th row dead center for grace potter last year, I'd gladly trample some folks for those same seats.

Don't sweat it. They'll be early entry. If they had it for the reserved seated shows at the Beacon, they'll have it for these.
Usually that info is posted 48-72 hours before the show so enjoy the next few months worry free.
Sounds good, I shall worry no more.
I am not taking off work and am not in the club so I know I will be waiting in a long line. Luckily only looking for 2 seats. But seriously it's a pretty small place and unless it's pouring rain, being in the back in the uncovered part isn't bad...
I still hope to make it under the pavilion though.
need 2 miracles for Friday's show!
Curious if anyone has any recommendations for a cabin rental near Louisville Ky for the shows. We'll be driving down from Chicago so distance isn't too big of a concern (although it would be nice to be closer to Louisville).
Thanks in advance!

weather forecast for thursday isn't looking too promising. let's hope they're wrong, or at least that any storms pass before showtime.
yikes, 90% chance of rain Thursday night!
Friday looks great though...
Purple Rain is gonna kick ass in the thunder storm ;)
Does anyone know the venue's weather policy? Since only half of the place is covered, would they cancel a show for a thunderstorm?
Edit: kind of found an answer.
http://www.iroquoisamphitheater.com/2015/04/25/rain-or-shine/
Yeah I was there once in the uncovered part when it started pouring rain. At the top of the uncovered seats there's a covered balcony people can run and stand under. Or we just went down below and stood in the aisles.
thank goodness for early entry. hopefully any bad weather will blow thru before showtime, but it's nice to know we'll be able to snag some seats under the roof.
good article in the courier-journal this morning:
http://www.courier-journal.com/story/entertainment/arts/music/2016/05/10/my-morning-jacket-iroquois-park-louisville/84134966/ (http://www.courier-journal.com/story/entertainment/arts/music/2016/05/10/my-morning-jacket-iroquois-park-louisville/84134966/)
James said that a new MMJ album is taking shape, but not the one that fans were expecting. When "The Waterfall" was released last May it was announced that there were more than enough songs for a second, vastly different album to be released this year.
Some of that music is still in play, but a recent surge of inspiration got in the way. Some of the leftover "Waterfall" music will still be used, but the album will take off in yet another direction.
"I feel like a month ago I didn't have any idea when I'd want to make another My Morning Jacket record, and then all of these songs popped out and I got super excited," said James, who anticipates a 2017 release.
weather is looking better for Thursday night

I like this part:
MMJ's shows on Thursday and Friday night will be self-contained events. No songs will be repeated and the band's entire catalog is up for grabs, along with a selection of covers possibly dedicated to the dearly departed. At least one new song will appear, and possibly two.
Weather is looking pretty good ! 50% chance of showers tomorrow evening and a 0% chance of rain Friday !

Absolutely gave me chills!
please please please let me get a covered pavilion seat.
This will be my 8th & 9th MMJ shows but the first time getting to use the Roll Call early entry. From whats been posted it looks like Roll Callers will get to start going in at 6:15 then normal gates open at 6:30. Will they let everybody in the Roll Call line in before they allow the other line to start going in? I plan on getting there and in line around 4:30 but I was expecting more than 15 minutes for the Roll Callers to get in first. Thanks for any input and see you guys tomorrow!
I should have a +1 for Roll Call Early Entry available for both Thurs and Fri night. If you need it send me a PM. I should be there Thursday between 430pm-5pm, same with Friday.
24 hours!!! Can't wait!!!

How am I supposed to focus at work today?
ugh. weather forecast is about as bad as it could be. clearing a bit during the day, then bad weather blowing thru from roughly 4:00-9:00.
looks like there's no avoiding getting soaked. if you're standing in line to get in you'll get drenched. if you wait until the lines are gone you'll end up in the uncovered seats.
i'm at the point that i just hope it's not severe enough to cancel or delay things. maybe twin limb can take the night off.

Weather News – My Morning Jacket Show, May 12-13
*IMPORTANT WEATHER INFO FOR TONIGHT'S MMJ SHOW*
Like all events at Iroquois Amphitheater, tonight's concert is RAIN OR SHINE.
In the event of severe weather, we may pause or delay the show while it passes over. In the event of extremely severe weather, we have emergency procedures to keep every one safe.
Patrons in single letter rows (A, B, C, etc) are generally under the roof, while patrons in double letter rows (AA, BB, AA, etc) are generally not covered. Patrons under the roof can still get rained on if the wind blows in from the side, and while walking to the restrooms, concession stand, or bar.
You may bring a poncho or rain jacket, but umbrellas are not allowed.
Thank you for your understanding and for your cooperation. Hope everyone has fun tonight welcoming the band back home!

Agree on the crowd. That was an electric atmosphere. I thought the roof was going to lift off the amphitheater!!!

That time during A New Life when the band paused and couldn't continue the song because the crowd got so loud was amazing and the boys were smiling ear to ear.

Nothing from Evil Urges played last night. Maybe tonight we'll get the album in full, or at least Aluminum Park and Remnants!!
This was discussed amongst our group. I can't imagine playing all of Evil Urges and not ISM. But who the hell knows! My thoughts lean towards Touch me 1 n deaux and oh man I'm down for a Peanut Butter Pudding Surprise! Smokin? Aluminum? Woohoo I'm stoked!
geez, what a great, joyous experience last night was. now to get my head on straight and do it again tonight.

Anybody Uber after the show? How long did you have to wait?

Half an hour or so and surge pricing was through the roof.

Thanks for the response. Weighing the merits of extended tailgating vs ease of getting home.

that encore...wow.
Is that Anytime that is crossed off?
just talked to a guy in my office who was seated near me, under pavilion, back section on the right side. Sound was a little cloudy back there at times, and he said when he went to see his friend who was out in the uncovered section a few rows back it was way clearer sounding.
so I'm debating what to do tonight. as much as I love being closer to see more, I am always interested in hearing it as clear as possible.
anyone in the back last night? or anyone have any thoughts on this?

Yup.
My only sound complaint from last night was that Carl's guitar was more difficult to pick out in the mix than I would prefer. I was seated on Jim's side of center section, fifth row. Will go more for dead center tonight.
If you sit in front of Jim in the fifth row, you will hear more of Jim because his amp is pointing directly at you. Guitars are slightly panned to stage perspective and often in stereo on solos. I hope this helps.
Interesting they played nearly all of Z and no EU or Circuital. Interested to see the setlist for tonight.

Got to go to sleep now but wanted to post this pretty cool picture I took while Carl was jamming.

Great pic, John. Carl was fantastic all night!
I saw your grandson jamming along on air guitar, what a great 1st concert for him.
Hope to see you tonight, we're probably gonna go for Jim's side.

Cool, was it a new style hoodie or the one with the tree. I was just going to buy a poster but couldn't buy that green mmjn metro parks t-shirt fast enough.
Or buy one from the merchandise stand. I got my grandson one last night.

They did play "Wordless Chorus" from Evil Urges, and they did play "Wonderful" from Circuital.
"Wordless Chorus" is off of Z, though.

Yeah I know, was just hoping for a tad more Carl given I was fairly close to the dead center. Still not even really a complaint. Great show!
i didnt go to the merch, can someone post a pic of the green metro parks shirt?
NM, its in the store.
Not getting response from my ticket hookup. In search of 1 tonight? In from STL. Last night melted my face. SOS give me a holler if you can. Thanks in advance!
As we waited in line to get in there was a guy walking up and down the line trying to sell tickets.
$149 is the cheapest on stubhub
Another incredible show tonight!!

Tonight blew last night away.
On paper I'd probably pick last nights set list just bc Dondante and PWW plus Purple Rain... But the energy tonight was OUTRAGEOUS!!!
Both nights were incredible in different ways...but the 1-2-3 of Steam Engine->Run Thru->Dancefloors to close the regular set is damn hard to beat
Some of my favorite moments though were the quieter songs. Bermuda Highway last night and I Will Be There When You Die tonight.
Really looking forward to hearing these shows again someday. All in all one of the best musical experiences ever. Iroquois was the perfect venue to see them in and I don't know if we ever will get to do that again.
I'm very grateful to have been there.

-GO TEAM CARL... Saxy!
Fun shows, Good Band, Great Encores
Please & Thank You
Just got into St. Louis after two raucous nights. Thank you Louisville you never disappoint!
Well I'm very jealous of these two shows. Stupid anniversary weekend!
Last night was everything. I can't right now put thought into words but I do know that that was an experience that could never be replicated.
The monster with the tongue was amazing. I couldn't take my eyes off him at the end.
Last night was the best MMJ I've ever been to. I've seen some that I thought were hard to top but last night was just unbelievable. It went by so fast too.
thank you for the videos, Mr. White :)
i'm clearly in the minority, but front-to-back I preferred Thursday to Friday. probably because 5 of the first 7 songs last night are on my "could do without" list. and I left my jacket in the car, so I was freakin' cold at first.
but from "golden" on, it was pure bliss. 2 more prince songs! fantastic venue, fantastic crowd, best rock n' roll band on the planet.

Pulled the pop up in the driveway about 4:30 yesterday and have had time to decompress two amazing shows!!!
Hard for me to pick a favorite night because both nights had some major highs for me so I'm not going to.
One thing for certain, I just love the energy from the crowd for hometown shows. These were my 3rd and 4th hometown shows and I would have to say they rank 1 and 2!!!
I did see a mic stand Friday night right in frond of the soundboard so I'm hoping at least night two will show up on Archive. Didn't notice any Mocs Thursday but I didn't really look that hard for any either!
Saw mic stand Thursday, a few rows in front of sound console.
Both nights were just blistering!! It Still Moves was covered pretty heavily but that Anytime was what I'd been waiting for. Not to mention an energetic, shortened Cobra. Great crowd, great setlists, and the band was really taking some of the longer jams into strange territory; Dondante and PWW the first night were so powerful!
I thought both sets were some of the Pinnacle Jacket. Throwback into those first block of songs on Thursday night were just simply rocking full blown jacked up jacket sing along. I looked at my buddy and said I have never been around a crowd this into a show. I always make an effort to go to the Louisville shows because it seriously is some of the best music and crowd experiences I have ever had at concerts. Oh man the first night when the band stopped. The crowd screamed for almost a minute straight before they kicked back in....so badass. Night 2 highlights for me were run thru, I thought state of the art was awesome. Loved the power go out part with the lights. And of course Cobra and the covers. It was just the perfect jacket two night stand. I have never been to Iroquois and it's definitely on the radar now for upcoming events!
I am (not so) patiently waiting for more videos or the aforementioned tapings to surface...want to relive both nights! I am not lucky enough to be headed to RR so those sets are probably all there will be this year for me MMJ-wise.
These were it for me this year too, other than seeing the band at the Ray LaMontagne show at The Palace in August.
Couldn't have asked for two better nights!!!
So good

My Morning Jacket as they leave the stage after a fantastic Night 1 at the Iroquois Amphitheater in Louisville, Kentucky on Thursday, May 12, 2016.
Mr White, you must have been sitting directly behind us! We were there Thursday but not Friday. Had to be back in Richmond for work.
Any word on the tapers? I didn't catch who they were but can definitely add another confirmation that they were there same spot both night at least 4 mics.
shamelessly going to brag about this, but i spotted Kevin Ratterman in the stands on my way out after night 2 and we exchanged big smiles and a massive high five. i wasn't sure what would happen when i started to put my arm up but the gamble paid off. he seemed like an extremely nice guy.

Looks like some damn fine Grandparenting! Well done indeed, Mr. White.
Just one question......who had more fun? Lol. Looks to me like you're both having a blast but getting to share that with him has got to give you a bit of an edge,IMO.

It was a pleasure meeting you on night 1, Mr. White! Hope your grandson wasn't scarred for life with all that "action" going on in the row in front of us...

Hey there, my little brother and I were behind you in fifth row the second night, the two seats on the aisle. We had a blast too! My brother is 16 and was wowed by the power of the Jacket, having never seen them before.
Friday show is up on archive.org, no sign of Thursday yet.
please, please let there be a Thursday recording. I know mr. porter was there with his rig, hope there weren't any problems.
edit:
I wonder if the inclusion of "throwback" is a problem. maybe they don't want it out there for public consumption yet?

Any chance MMJ will have a sound board recording of the shows available? I noticed roll call members have one free live show download redemption code, how does that work?

Wondering that as well re: "Throwback." Would gladly take a recording of the rest of the set without it if that is the case

MikeR1390, yeah, that sure was some "action" on display right there in the 2nd row right in front of us. I tried to keep shifting him from one spot to the other and getting him focused on what was going on up on stage, but it was a tiresome task. Night 2 was much less "eventful" but just as rockin' for us. He had a real good time.
We were on the aisle, second row, on Thurs night. I mentioned that we were in front of Mr. White, but I wanted to clarify that the 2 ladies to our left were NOT affiliated w/us.
thursday show has appeared!
thank you tapers!
