Who else do you think is playing? Who else would be your dream supporting acts?
Mine are the same: Alabama Shakes
I also think we'll see Ray Lamontagne and maybe Trampled by Turtles. I'd like to see The Tallest Man on Earth or Langhorne Slim. It'd be great to see Conor Oberst just show up again. Perhaps that role will be taken this year by Taylor Goldsmith.
in no particular order.....
houndmouth
houndmouth
houndmouth
the pride of new albany, indiana. they would be such a perfect fit.
and another local (louisville) guy, ben sollee.
grace potter, too.
Better question: who plays there the week before that may stick around? Never gonna top Weir so maybe we just do that again.
J Roddy Walston and the Business
Dr dog and War on Drugs again please!!
I'm hearing Biz Markee all 4 nights.

yeah, that was just terrible! I was pretty fired up to see him. What a letdown!
I agree with walterfredo - the Biz was not good at OBH2. A real letdown.
Alabama Shakes
Fruit Bats or Lucius maybe
Moon Taxi or Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds maybe
PHJB for SURE
Trampled By Turtles, J Roddy Walston and the Business, and Sturgill Simpson

I heard from a friend of the band that Biz was supposed to appear on stage with MMJ to perform "Bennie and the Jets" at OBH2. Said he wouldn't do it for less than $5000, so Jim just did it without him.
Needless to say, I can pretty much guarantee you that you won't see Biz performing with MMJ again. Ever.
My wish list:

Saw Houndmouth in Asheville couple weeks ago, and was really impressed with them. I would love to see them there!
My List would be:
Houndmouth
Nathanial Rateliff and the Nightsweats
J. Roddy
Alabama Shakes, although might be too big now?

The shakes could pull a big enough crowd by themselves for a concert in Mexico, I can't see them being able to share the time with MMJ...they deserve their own destination concert fest!
timescaper.... I would love Tame Impala too, but they are as big as Alabama Shakes and have no history with MMJ so that's super unlikely in my opinion. Tame Impala would be my pick. However, despite the Shakes being so big now, I think knowing their friendship with MMJ that they would be into doing it and wouldn't surprise me if they were there. It could probably be for a lesser fee than they usually get. Or Cloud 9 could charge more and justify the added cost if a big band like Shakes were on the bill.
I predict PHJB, Strand of Oaks, Fruit Bats, and Ray Lamontagne or Alabama Shakes plus a complete surprise..... something completely off the radar like Sylvan Esso was. I would like to se Garza or Thievery Corp for late night. Foals or Lord Huron would be nice!
THE BOTTLE ROCKETS!
i second, the bottle rockets
Thank you musical savvy and kind Sir
I would love to see Tame Impala, but I think the Shakes are more likely since they are MMJ fans. I would think maybe J Roddy, Strands of Oak, or a Deer Tick or some lesser knowns like Futurebirds, houndmouth, Son Little or New Madrid. Maybe even a Jeff Tweedy solo as i doubt they could afford Wilco. Pres hall is probably a given and then someone totally off the wall. I really enjoyed Sylvan Esso last year, so I'm down for whatever they bring ! My guess at late night dj is ?uestlove
DRIVE BY TRUCKERS!
I would love any or all of:
Flight of the Conchords
Deer Tick
Blitzen Trapper
White Denim
Any kind of Wilco or part of
Alabama Shakes
Portugal. the Man
Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers
Greensky Bluegrass
Brandi Carlile
White Denim
The Jacket
Drive By Truckers
Primal Scream 'Screamadilica'
The La's 'the La's'
Carlos Nakai 'canyon Trilogy'
Deer Tick
Bottle Rockets
Paul Weller 'Wild Wood'
Camper Van.... Reformed
This dream festival would get me off the xannex and stop me from concieling me ice pick

woah, I would seriously lose it if ?questlove came to OBH..that would be almost too good
If The National played there with MMJ.. I'd sacrifice my first born. (Hope he's not reading this..)

My wife would probably help you. No offense to your first born, of course!
Ray Lamontagne
Jason Isbell (with Amy and 400 Unit)
Strand of Oaks
White Denim
Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds
PHJB
There, my friends, is the perfect bill.
edited - to add Strand - very high likelihood given '15 tour - Fruitbats also a solid contender
Ray Lamontagne
White Denim
Jonathan Wilson
The Helio Sequence
Strand of Oaks
War On Drugs (I would love to see them again!)
And of course PHJB (so fun late night!)
Other late night acts:
!!!
The Budos Band
Caribou
Odesza
Jungle
Any of those would be great. Cant wait to see the actual line up! Please come out soon!
To everyone that keeps predicting Ray LaMontagne: I really do believe that an important purpose of other bands is to give the boys a night off in between all the shows. I'd be really really surprised if they book a schedule that keeps 4/5ths of them busy on their off day. Just my $0.02 and we shall see!

Ray should play solo acoustic set on the lagoon during off day - and then have his studio band attend for an electric set (with MMJ sit ins). Givan, Ratterman & Co will be there anyway, soooo

If that were the case, it'd be opening the door for Jim to do a solo set as well. He'll have new material to play assuming his next solo record is at least finished by then, if not out already.
As crazy of a weekend that would be, I really think the band wants to focus on it being MMJ all the way.
We can always hope though...
OBH has only existed for two editions, so at this point I think it would be unreliable to say that "this can't happen" or "that won't happen" based on anything they have done before. With the Ray project and Jim's solo album coming up, it certainly gives them more to work with, time will tell what the finished product looks like.
One possibility could be a band involving some of the musicians from the soon to be released Day of the Dead 5CD Grateful Dead tribute set put together By the Dessner brothers from The National. Jim sings on one of the tracks.

I think my dream support acts would be the North Mississippi all stars, and Blue Oyster Cult.
I saw the All-stars play a festival here in the UK a couple of years ago and they were absolutely fantastic! great music and showmanship.
BOC are legends of course, still playing and touring with original members Eric bloom and Donald (Buck Dharma) Roeser. Personally I find that in many ways MMJ remind me of BOC, but maybe that's something best left for a separate post.
First Aid Kit would be awesome!

Here's a thought on an opener - anything going on with Centromatic these days? Or South San Gabirel?
Strand of Oaks for sure
I really wish band of horses or war on drugs would come back. This will be my first trip and I'm stoked.

Incontinence aside, how amazing would that be?? Plus, I've never gotten to see Centro-magic, and Will Johnson is a MOF alum, so there is a connection there.
I thought Centro-Matic called it quits?

Huh, bummer. But OBH would be a great reason to reform!!
I just hope it's not Fruit Bats and Barr Brothers.
Cloud 9 sprung a leaky :)
That they did, but they're asking us not to divulge. I'm guessing they'll be making an announcement very soon because of this.

Lineup looks awesome! But let's not forget the previous OBH "leak" which unfortunately proved to be just a mock-up rather than the legit lineup.
who was on the leak?
I would love to know as well. I can't find anything about it. Feel free to pm me if you don't want to post it.

I don't trust it. OBH2 had a mock up with Alabama Shakes on it....and Eryka Badu as guest DJ, neither of which happened...
Hang tight. I will admit, however, the suspense is killing me! :cheesy:

IT'S OFFICIAL, FOLKS!!! I am pumped for this lineup......! Imagine the guitar playing we are going to experience with MMJ, Gary Clark Jr., and Kurt Vile all in the same resort.....!
Stoked on Gary Clark Jr. Have heard mostly good things about Deer Tick & Kurt Vile (how is his sound compared to The War On Drugs?). Gotta check out The Head and The Heart & Lucius now. Can't wait!
Hope to see Gary Clark Jr sit in on some Jacket tunes.
