MMJ has confirmed their first 2017 date!
... clearing my entire June 2017 calendar accordingly.
siiiiiiiiiiick, i've heard great things about that festival.
So this is one of those two weekend fests...which leads me to believe we can expect some other Midwest shows befoee/between these two dates right?

They're only playing the first weekend, but yes I hope this means more shows surrounding it.
Electric Forest is about an hour north of me. I went in 2012 and 2013, but my continued disinterest in electronic music really made me think I'd never go back. Jacket will bring me back, but I'm really hoping I can just do a single-day pass. Pretty unreal that they're playing there. It's a really cool festival as far as the grounds go, but Bassnectar and Odesza being listed above MMJ really shows you what kind of festival this is. Still gonna be a blast.

Looking at the lineup, MMJ is clearly the outlier, which i think is awesome. It really shows how wide ranging they are. Does this festival usually book any other "rock" bands as headliners??
Not to my knowledge. Usually the only guitar based stuff is STS9, Disco Biscuits and Umphries kinda bands. The grounds are amazing and you could have an excellent time just chilling and exploring and meeting people. If there are no other dates near Wisconsin and i can get off ill probably make the drive.
The rest of the lineup is not really my cup of tea, although I dont mind the electronic scene all that much.. just don't think I can handle a weekend of it.
I'm going to guess MMJ does multiple festivals this summer, i'd love to see them back on the farm.
Terrific news! This bodes well for the spring/summer. Of course it could be a one off situation like Lockn' this year, but I'm seriously hoping like oistheone to clear my June schedule accordingly.
