There it is folks...
Not for nothing but that is my dream festival lineup. My three favorite bands are the first three listed. The rest is just bonus... and fantastic bonus!
Has anybody been to Peach before, thinking VIP is the way to go.
Amazing!
Panic, MMJ and Magpie Salute!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
plus so much more.
Anyone know if they end up releasing single day passes? I'm in my cousins wedding on Aug 11th. Thinking about disowning him.
Awsesome.
But I do wish MMJ had two sets and Mr Bob Weir was playing too.
and Marcus King Band, too!!!! That is quite a lineup!
I am just hoping more Magpie Salute dates get announced. And MMJ Nashville rumors are true, or better yet they play in Louisville. This lineup is the best I've seen this Summer, I just don't know how likely it is that I will get there.

They had single day passes last year, I assume they will have them this year as well. I'm planning on going for Jacket, as long as I'm not dead from the Bakers Dozen

Yes they do, but not till later.
Well here's hoping that MMJ plays on Saturday, 8/12. Thanks for the info..

the initial rumor I heard was Friday, but Saturday makes more sense (similar to Lockn)

Saturday doesn't seem likely to me if Panic is headlining two nights. I would think they'd play back to back nights, with both being on the weekend. Either Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun but definitely not Thurs/Fri. That would leave either Friday or Sunday for MMJ to headline.
Maybe not but that's the way I'd be leaning. Unless of course they aren't headlining one of the nights but based on the announcement, it sure looks like they will be.
Got my camping passes, went standard reserved and am AMPED. Love this lineup.
Wouldn't shock me if it went WSP on Friday, MMJ on Saturday, WSP on Sunday. That's how it went with Phish at Lockn last year, anyway.

well, Phish is infamous for "never miss a Sunday show" but aside from that it makes sense to split the primary headliner (if they are performing 2x) to ensure you keep attendance up on the final day.

agreed
MMJ should come out dressed up as characters from The Office : Jim as a long-haired Michael Scott of ceremonies, Tom as Dwight with glasses and beets on his amps, Patrick as Phyllis, Carl as Pam and Bo as Jim.
Its Scrantontime for the Jackets.

You may be right but I would think a headlining band on Summer tour wouldn't want to waste a weekend night. Unless they're getting compensated enough to make it worth their while to not have a show on the off night.
I would think most bands want to get in and out of town ASAP, and WSP playing back to back nights just makes more sense to me.

or, if Lockn is a template, they stick around for sweet collaborations and/or support super VIP side gigs

Yeah that's true but I don't really see Lockn as a template for this fest. You may be right and hopefully you are for everyone going but I just think Lockn was more the exception than the rule. JMHO.

hahahah probably right, although he doesn't like being Jim, from the What's In my Bag? youtube posting, where he introduces himself as Tom Blankenship ahahah I just thought he'd be perfect as Michael Scott, cause he's all zany and weird and I can't really see Carl flying around saying shit about "radiating the gold" etc with a cape and a hat on (remember the Golden Ticket episode anyone???)
They should at least come out to the Office intro hahah
Has anyone gone to Peach in the past and can comment on the experience? Thinking this may be my best shot at some Jacket content this summer.

Unless you love WSP, I'd recommend patience. This probably won't sell out. And you don't want to commit days off and funds if better and more convenient options present themselves. The summer is many months away. JJ's last solo tour was announced just two months before it started.
I am completely indifferent to WSP butttttt I did have a suprisingly awesome time at Lockn last year, so maybe hippie festivals are the way to go for me. A weekend of Dead and Allman covers with an MMJ headlining set tossed in doesn't sound so bad!

I've been to Peach Fest the past five years and can answer any questions. People complain about the venue and the logistics of the festival because the campground is on the Ski Slopes. Theres no car camping so everyone has to lug all their belongings up the mountain after shuttle rides from the parking lots. Preperation is key for this festival due to the terrain.

Have you camped all five years? I'm looking into the hotel+shuttle option because camping not directly next to my car sounds like a nightmare. I am wholly reliant on my vehicle when at a festival, but if the shuttles depart before the fun really starts at night, I might have to suck it up...
best advice? skip peach and get a full show the next night at Mass Moca

Mass Moca is a great venue. Went and saw The National there a year or two back. Cool place!!
If they have the headline spot I'd assume they get 2 1/2 hours

Yes, my wife and I camped all five years. We both have large camping backpacks that strap around us. We also have a foldable wagon to haul two large bins of essentials and an easy up canapy. Acessability and terrain of the festival is tough (It's a mountain) You have to get there as soon as it opens on Thursday to avoid any nightmares because there's limited on site parking. Once you make it to camp it's totally worth it. The water park and layout is awesome! I wouldn't think about getting a hotel because of how they stagger the set times. You'll be forced to make some tough decisions and miss bands than you may want to see. The quality of music will be great all day and music goes till 2am (3:30am year due to rain delays each night) and walking from stage to stage gets old quick.

Yes, they'll get 2hrs 15- 2 1/2 hr set. After MMJ, staggered late night acts on three stages. I believe Lettuce w/ Chaka Khan will be on the main Peach stage after MMJ's set
Lockn taught me not to dismiss festival shows just because they're festivals! They're bonafide headliners now, folks, and I'm expecting a barnburner at Peach!

Any recommendations on places to stay? Looks like North Adams filled up fast. Are Ubers or cabs around if you stay 5+ miles away??
Maybe EricM can answer this or anyone else familiar with the touring routes....
Columbus is Thu Aug 10 and Mass Moca is Sat Aug 12.
Can we assume that they drive east from Ohio to PA stop Fri Aug 11 in Scranton and then head to Massachusetts
OR
Is there ANY chance they skip Friday night as a "travel date" and end up in Scranton Sun Aug 13? (I can only do Sunday)
Thanks

D'oh! I'm not even going to be there Saturday! Bolting to MassMOCA bright and early.
does anyone know if Peach does a livestream?
This is going to be one hell of a fest. Best of all it is perfectly set up where my strung out behind won't have any issues leaving early on Sunday.
There are some conflicts but man Thurs-Sat is pretty much non-stop good music all day and night.

i don't think so. I saw nothing that indicates they've done it before. Our best bet is probably Mixlr, Periscope, FB Live, etc
Sponsored by Dunder Mifflin?
If any day trippers are looking for a great place for lunch/ drinks before you head in, Backyard Alehouse in downtown Scranton cannot be beat!
I feel like this being a more jammy festival that someone will have a Mixlr stream. I'm likely going to CRB or I'd try to find one.
If they play Melissa, they are going to crush it.

I agree and hope they dig it so much they play it again Saturday night at Mass MoCa. It'll most likely be a one off but a guy can hope right?
Can't wait for tonight. Weather not lookin so good but hoping it's just rain and not storming enough to fuck with the set!
anyone know of a stream for the show tonight?

What a show!! though almost exactly 2 hours I would say the show of the summer tour, based on being at 1 other, and listening to some others. The boys were definitely playing to the " jam crowd" with nice transitions between songs, extended jams, etc..
I don't recall the entire setlist, but there were lots of repeats from this tour:
The magic began with a beautiful Steam Engine > Blowin' in the Wind > Melissa > All Things Must Pass
the 3 covers were all breakouts of this tour, and I believe Melissa and ATMP have never been played by Jacket. I thought Melissa especially was beautifully played, all 3 saw Carl on pedal steel.
other highlights: a great version of Phone Went West, and a seemingly new extended jam at the end of Touch Part 2 ( much longer than I remember the Forest Hills version)
I have some gripes with the festival in general. The first 30 rows are sold off to VIP, meaning its impossible to have a good seat to the a headlining act unless you bought VIP. Also, last night the rain was torrential which meant the non vip section was PACKED with everyone from the lawn as well, made for some crowding distractions, and overall bad vibes in parts of the seated sections.
Plenty of Tapers present, so tape should be surfacing shortly :)
