HAHAHAHA!

I know a coupla teens who like Gram Parsons, but that's mostly because I forced them to listen.  "See?  Country music is FUN."

(Everything that has any kind of country guitar or songs about the land or whatever is country music to them.)

He is 19. And I should know, because he's the same age as me.

I thought Jim did Hot Burrito #1, or was that on some radio show he did around that time...Speaking of which, did that radio performance ever make it's way out into trading circles? I bet he fucking nailed that song.

I think you're thinking of a KCRW radio show for the Burrito tune

It's an Area 1 DVD, though...  So I think you have to have one of the newer DVD players that can play all of the DVDs...  (am I right?  I just learned the other day that they have PAL DVDs, so I don't actually know for certain that I know anything.)

(that is the best sentence I've ever written)

music dvd's are usually region-free so it shouldn't be a problem. I'll check it to be sure when it arrives.

Oh yeah, I just picked mine up on my way home from work, but my wife is having "Ladies Night" at the house so I don't think it would be real cool if I just plop down on the couch and throw it in my dvd player while they are trying to talk about whatever they talk about at "Ladies Night".  Although I'm thinking about it.

It's so great.

Highlights:
-Jim's suit, and his song (Still Feeling Blue)
-Steve Earle.  Just in general.
-Lucinda Williams
-All of them at the end singing Oooh Las Vegas and Wild Horses

It's really wicked.  Plus, I mean, it's Gram Parsons, so it's going to be brilliant.  The filmic images in the background are also very cool.  Did anybody actually get to see this show live?  (I know people did, but I mean anybody here?)

I love this video.  The commentary by Polly is really interesting.  I was shocked that they tried to get Kings Of Leon, and I like the part where she says Jim was as happy as a pig in shit with the nuede suit on.  Speaking of Jim's ass did you notice Polly smack that shit on her way up to the mic during Wild Horses.  Back to the music, Who is John Doe?  I thought he was great, I really like his performance with Kathleen Edwards.  I've been listening to alot of Gram Parsons lately, I've been playing "Blue Eyes" on acoustic all day.  What an amazing singer songwriter and a beautiful tribute!!!!!

I'm so glad a boy said that first.  (i noticed, too.)

Yeah, I thought John Doe was awesome, too, and I'd never heard of him.

Did you notice how Steve Earle looked up and smiled when Jim belted out?  That was pretty nice.

I haven't listened to the commentary, yet.  But I will.
