gracias!
There are also a couple of other artists who made pages:
Kathleen Lolly did the front and back cover of the book, and that fuzzzzzzzy z in the tree and I think she also did the drawing of the owl on yellow lined paper, but I can't be sure of that. I don't believe that fact has ever been established.
Nicolai Denchev did the lovely pictures of kids (my favourite is the monster with the torn in his toe)
Guy Burwel did the Z building
Mike Fulkerson did the one with the Z in the sky and the stars around it (weird. I always thought that was the same person who did the learning covers...)
Katie Beach did the beach one with the z stream running through it. (My favourite guy on there is the buff Z with his crack showing. heh.)
The Mermaids one is by Brandon Jones.
For the Learning and Sandworm cds, the artwork was done by Katie Beach (who did the Z beachscape mentioned above.) I think we had a thread about this before where DD talked about where you could find some work by some of these people. I'll see if'n I can find it.

:)
i don't know about the other artists who worked on album art, but i know for sho that Guy Burwel designed a concert poster for, i think, a Philly show a while back. if you search for MMJ posters on Ebay, you'll see something he did. so you can own a little piece of the artist if you were so inclined.
guy did 3 for portland.
you can find it all here:

best poster ever
i got a copy of the may 12th 2004 crystal ballroom show. we happened to be in portland and caught that show. that venue is crazy.
hopefully it will be framed and hung along with all the other mmj and other concert posters i have.
Our old friend Danny Cash did the layout too.
If you're in Louisvile in the future, stop by his store Kopilot on Bardstown Rd for more stuff by Lolley and others who worked on the album art...
TOM!!! that IS the best poster ever... although Print Mafia did one with flying cros in black and yellow that is also pretty righteous.
Wow, a wealth of information here! I love the artwork on Z and wondered about it myself! Many Thanks!
My dream is to one day have MMJ hire me to do some art.
Not there, yet, though.
