I thought/think that I read that this was released yesterday (Februrary 7), does anyone have it yet? I don't buy many DVDs but I think that I might just have to pick this one up just for the extras. Aren't there some deleted scenes that show Jim, Tommy, and Patrick consoling the drummer?
I think that I saw something here, possibly, around the time of the film's release in the theatres. I still haven't heard Where To Begin except for when they played it live at the Knoxville show on Oct 7! I guess I need the soundtrack, too.
Maybe this has been discussed elsewhere already but I couldn't find it anywhere. When I heard that MMJ would be doing Freebird during the film I kind of cringed...but it actually turned out to be fairly hilarious and well-done. It was a riot to see Patrick on keyboards! And it also includes one of my all-time favorite songs: Moon River, which I have asked Jim to learn but so far he hasn't come through for his old man! Come on, son, I know you're not going to do Expecting to Fly, so can you help a father out!? Long live MMJ and the tapers and the traders!
Low Dog
yeah dude!
I just bought this DVD and watched it. Not worth it! Jim and the rest of the band are nowhere to be found on the extras. There was a scene cut from the funereal scene where Jim had a line and it didn't make the deleted scenes on the DVD. How does that deleted scene get left off the DVD? That's half the reason I bought it! Disappointing to say the least.
Cheers MD - I was holding out for the DVD thinking that scene would be included, what gives?!
I don't know man. There were two "extended scenes" and two theatrical trailers for the movie, but Jim's line is nowhere to be found. I don't get it.
Cheers!
You sometimes get a 'special' or 'ultimate' DVD version but I can't see that happening with Elizabethtown.
I thought 'Rusty's Learning to Listen' was outstanding! Fire in the hole! Woooo!
have it, love it, thought the guys (Jim, Pat, and Tommy) were made to look more like extras than the stars they truly are though... ;)
I don't think that movie even had a commentary on it unless I missed it.
that's pretty bad for a cameron crowe movie. shitty
So whats the dea?l MMJ is in the movie or soundtrack?
