due to unforeseen circumstances the first 5 dates of the tour have been cancelled:
January
03 Sat Nashville, TN - Exit/In
08 Thu Indianapolis, IN - Birdy's
09 Fri Cincinnati, OH - Bogart's
10 Sat St. Louis, MO - Mississippi Nights
15 Thu Lexington, KY - The Dame
they will be made up at a later date not yet determined
the tour will now begin in Birmingham, AL on January 16
This sucks
ouch. that sucks! oh well... just add a louisville show in there too and i'll be happy. ;D

I just saw Jim and Pat Sunday, and Jim seemed excited about the show with Bobby Bare Jr. I wonder what happened.
Well, shoot. And I was going to miss sooooo much work next month....(sigh) :P
They (ticketbastard) do refund the ticket price don't they? Are all of the charges lost? My Birdy's tickets were short lived.
I dont know if I can travel right now. Unfortunately, the plot has just thickened into molasses.

hey all,
i just signed up; good to be here. i sent an e-mail to the bands
manager requesting any information that might explain why the shows
were cancelled. I was really excited about them coming to st. louis
for the first time at it was a huge letdown to say the least. below
is a copy of the reply i received:
Hey Marcus,
Thanks for reachin' out to us! I'm actually from St. Louis, went to
MIZZOU, and share your dismay in the cancellation. The reason the
show was cancelled is that My Morning Jacket's guitarist, Johnny
Quaid has been having KILLER migraine headaches for over a year and
doesn't think he's going to be on the road to recovery by the time we
need to be up-and-running for the first five shows of the tour. If
you go to the website and check out the `Past Shows' page, you'll see
that My Morning Jacket have played over 300 shows in the past year-
and-a-half. That said, we need some time to see if Johnny can get
healthy to resume touring, or if we need to find another guitarist.
As Johnny is literally `family' to the band, we need to give him as
much time with doctors to suss out a diagnosis before making a huge
change.
Let's keep Johnny in our prayers for a speedy recovery. May he find the relief, rest, and comfort he needs in the days ahead. 300 shows in the past year and half is a LOT of shows, by any standard...

Chill out man. I don't see that happening, but what if someone filled in for a few dates of the tour, perhaps that's what they mean?

Yeah, he's the ladies man, and every band needs one! Now this is pretty bad news and we all wish him the very best. The guy rules and indeed, his guitar parts often give that spark to the songs wich without they just wouldn't be the same. Get well soon!
My first post, I came on to see why the Nashville gig went kerflooey.
Well, of course I'm really disappointed, but I can wait for the migraines to subside. That's the important thing. So get well soon. I'll be there, when they re-schedule.
