Quoteonly in spirit...
:) Sorry, I should've been specific. I meant Monsieur Nash. :):):)
I think I'm always there in spirit. At least in my own twisted mind...
Well I know that I think about you at shows. Especially if there's any way you can catch a bit of what I'm experiencing. :)

I wouldn't doubt it at all, Miss Megan...
Sorry to butt in here but isn't it true that the people who can't be there are felt in spirit?? And it's almost like you can send them the vibes you're feeling...hopefully they receive them.
p.s Enjoy the show EC!! :D

That's so sweet :) I for one really appreciate that :D
anyone know the deets for this show ?
I saw an ad in NOW mag for it and it says the "event" is from 3Pm -11pm.
There is some art sale/auction/gallery involved too or something?
Wouldn't want to get there too late and miss it.
Anyone wanna share rides to/fro Toronto that night?
Will be there...I'm assuming Wilco/MMJ will be in the evening given that Wilco is the headliner...

Hmmm. I thought it was a normal show. I will find out details and post.
Hello fellow Toronto girl! :)
Okay weird. It says 3pm-11pm. What the hell? I mean, hey, if either band wants a four hour set, I will not complain (but rather be ecstatic), but something seems odd.
Damn these websites for not being people.
Anybody know?
Well as far as i can tell its a mini festival kind of thing. There are some other bands playing that i assume are local bands as i have never heard of any of them. And there is art picked or done by the bass player from the Goo Goo Dolls who are from Buffalo... MMJ and Wilco will probably headline, or at least i would assume.
Here are the other bands according to some unofficial website:
Last Conservative
The Juliet Dagger
Mark Freeland
Alison Pipitone
Cute is What I Aim For
The Rabies
I'm going to get there as early as possible to be up front for the both MMJ and Wilco.
I am going...and so is my friend...

Yes Tony, I am indeed going. I'm not sure what time I'll be able to get there, yet, but I'll certainly be there before 7.

So am I. Don't worry. Besides, we've already kind of met. :)
(You don't
have to say hi if you don't want to, either. Seriously. Whatever you'd like.)
i'd be a fool not to say hi!
how would we met? you know what I look like right?

Yep - I'll keep my eyes open.
TOMMOROW! What is the damn seating like? I will be there by 6 i hope,,,,
Wouldn't expect any seats other than the grass..I'll be standing, and hopefully capturing some sounds...
so its gonna be packed?...damn i want good view!
As I enter into the concert area I quickly spot an ideal place to view the show...Right in the middle, directly in front of the stage! Of course I walked over and waited...The sun beat down as the hazy, humid day wore on. My hands were a little sweaty, as I waited in anticipation for the greatness that was about to be bestowed upon me.
Many people know how important My Morning Jacket is to me. Even though I was already a fan, my life long devotion to this band was sealed when I got a VERY personal and long e-mail from Jim James himself in a time of need.
My Morning Jacket took the stage at around 7:30pm and came out with a force of an approching hurricane...Slowed it down a bit for some tunes but always kept the force coming back...Jim James voice is in top notch form as well as the rest of the band...Like um or not--the energy that was delivered and the flawless, solid performance, was nothing short of breathtaking.
At this point, words had no meaning to describe what was being infused with our souls--it goes just beyond just being at a "rock concert"...And if you don't get it, you never will...My only complaint was this shortness of the set. It was over WAY to soon. Just as it hit a fever pitch, it had to end. Sad. I NEED to see a headline show with this band! The intensity created by them was unbeatable.
Still standing and well rocked, I now wait for Wilco. I have only recently got into Wilco and know a few songs. I was just hoping for a good show, and for some songs I knew, to be played. I was in for a lot more. We were treated to a 3 hour set of pure, amazing music.
I didn't know what to expect live from Wilco. I was along for the ride, and what a rush it was. This rollercoaster of bliss, took you to rocked out highs and beautiful acoustic based lows--all while keeping you straight on a path of greatness. Corny yes, but I was beyond impressed with the jamming and overall sounds and tightness of this band. At this time, Jim James jumped up on stage to toss beach balls into the crowd, and then he quickley vanished. Funny stuff.
I just think the world of Jeff and the rest of the guys...But Jeff Tweedy is mindblowing. I was afraid Wilco didn't know how to rock, but all my fears were blown away by the end of the night. Great comments by both bands as the played, but you had to be there to find it classic.
I watched the stars appear in the night sky while taking in the sounds.
My Morning Jacket and Wilco took me on such a journey, and I never even left my spot...it's a fucking masterpeiece when humans do what they do best.
Awesome!
I agree....I was there, right in front of the soundboard...he sounded great and the band was tight...and they just started to pull the whole crowd in with that intensity and...."Goodnight folks!"
This was my sixth time seeing them and the shortest by far...disappointing...the new songs sounded great...and the old ones too....
Great review! Cool for you that you were absolutely immersed in the experience. Sounds like the Jacket are at the top of their game!! ;D

Holy crap, those ones are awesome, too.
I liked that Buffalo show. It was like this outside community fair feel with really, really funny local bands (the ones I heard anyways) and stuff. It was a really nice night. :)
