Title: detroit show
Post by: SpeshulEd on Sep 06, 2005, 09:24 AM
anyone know whats up with the detroit show?  tickets aren't being sold on TM - and the musictoday presale or whatever on the mmj site doesn't have tickets anymore.  does this mean i have to go to the box office?

yeah, i'm gonna send a couple of emails this evening and hopefully that'll turn up something - if not i'll make the calls.

i haven't missed an mmj in detroit - and i don't want to miss this one.  specially now that i just got new mics to run.

Yeah, I'm really psyched to see them again this year. I will also be running a rig there  :) Hopefully we'll get some info on the show soon.

Just bought 2 tix this afternoon  :)

Ed, do you know where you're taping from, location-wise? I don't really know how well taping usually goes at St. Andrews (since I've never taped there). There isn't a whole lot of room, so I think I might see if I can put my rig back by the boards. I dunno though....what's your take?

just saw on ticketmaster that they're for sale - thanks for the heads up.  i'll have to get some after work.

at st. andrews i usually run above the board in the balcony or just infront of the board.  last time i taped mmj there, i ran fob/dfc and the tape sounds pretty good.

you'd probably get a better sound if you could move to about 10' in front of the board, but then you really have to worry about people, and it can get really crowded.

Yeah, that's what I assumed. Maybe we could meet up beforehand and plan it all out. I'd love to hear your MMJ tape from last time they were at St. Andrews. I also saw that you taped that Oasis show at the Meadowbrook this summer. Nice work!

Matt

not a groupie, just a fan.  last night was my 4th time seeing mmj, hopefully tuesday will be my 5th.

if i go, i'll be taping the show as well.

still standing at st. andrews, no seats, but if you get up to the balcony, you might be able to sit somewhat uncomfortably on the floor.

song #12 was It's About Twilight Now. and  his bone thugs banter was pretty damn hilarious.

i was on the bar, directly in front of Jim taking pictures - i'll pass them along to the official site - there were some real spectacular ones that turned out.

sweet, i was hoping to get some pictures, but standing back by the soundboard kind of put a damper on that.

Thank you so much, Ed.  What an amazing show.  Tom, I can't wait to see your pictures.  I believe I was standing right behind you, in fact.  I regretted not taking a camera - had no idea I'd get so close.

Damn Ed, you got that up quickly! Hopefully it all turned out ok. I listened to my tape after I got back, and it sounds pretty good (I was set up right next to you). It should be up on the archive later in the week.

yeah, i work nights...and didn't have much to do last night, so i tracked out the show as soon as i got back to lansing pretty much.

mine should be up on the archive within an hour or two, i just saw that it was approved by the curator and now its being moved to its final destination.

i'm assuming this will be the link, once its done...

i think this one came out a lot better than my chicago show.  something about the vic theater, i guess.
