QuoteI Love Rock and Roll!
Oh my god.  My neck is killing me.  The setlist as handed to me (because I knew I'd forget, and I knew people would want to know):
Wordless Chorus
It Beatz 4U
Gideon
One Big Holiday
The Dark (oh no, I am NOT joking)
Golden
Sooner
What a Wonderful Man
Off The Record
Laylow
Dondante
Run Thru
---
Northern Sky
Oxen (that's for Tom, we all know it's called How Could I Know)
Mahgeetah
Anytime

Here are the list of songs I started crying to:  Gideon (surprising tears), Golden (no explanation necessary), Sooner (again, no explanation necessary), Dondante (always do), Run Thru (more like tears of joy), Mahgeetah (because)

You couldn't imagine a greater thing than tonight.

Plus, the Crunk Unit sign is being carried around, just so y'alls know.  I was told that I could put it up while I was playing, but I totally forgot.  But it's there.  Every night.

That's awesome,  this way if they ever have trouble selling out a venue they can just post the "Free Crack" side outside the doors.

I didn't think they could top last time in TO at the Opera House, but they went ahead and did it.  I really don't think there is a band putting on a better live show right now than MMJ.  They are really at the top of their form.
There was a moment at the end of Run Thru last night when the band was spread across the stage all facing patrick, being lit only from behind, so they were all in sillohette... man, there is no proper words to describe how amazing it was.  it just made me giddy.  They are just ovewhelming.
Oxen was fantastic, Magheeta transendant... They just got it done on every song.  The Dark, I mean come on.  And Sooner?
great show.  every minute.

Oh and the opener, some chick named Megan Hamilton was pretty good to. ;)

THANK YOU MEGAN!  If it wasn't for her i would have been standind out in the cold and not hanging around backstage and out to dinner with the band. THANK YOU MEGAN! i had such a great night. Megan was excellent, i didn't see royal but i heard he was good, The boys put their all in to it and made it magical,  like they always do.

THANK YOU MEGAN!!!

The FREE CRACK sign could be the gateway to kicking the rock. See, people come in for FREE CRACK, but they get The Jacket instead, and we all know, The Jacket is better than crack, so instantly, people kick the rock for The Jacket.  :o

This is getting good...

What an incredible show!!  Run Thru was the absolute highlight for me......also "Sooner" with Jim playing that little harpsichord instrument...and "The Dark" - unbelievable!!!

We got there early and were enjoying Ms. Hamilton's set when I looked over and saw this unmistakable silhouette watching her performance...my friends said "No it can't be" but it was - Jim himself and then Patrick joining him...went over with some compliments about Z and shook their hands...certainly a memorable event for me...even though they did'nt heed my request for "Steam Engine"...

Also noticed a rig set up taping and the guy told my friend he should have it up on eTree in a few days...

What a night, can't wait to hopefully hear it again.
Will be thinking about this one for a long time...  ;D ;D

Great show. Really excellent! Nice Venue.

My last one was the 2004 Bonnaroo in the cold, rain, and snow...oops... a little Dead trip popped up ;D

The Toronto show gave me the chance to see them up close in a small venue. Wonderful.

Good crowd. I went with some big MMJ fans who were kind enough to offer me a ticket and a ride (you can't beat old tyme friends)...

I hope the show gets posted to etree as mentioned in the previous post... ;D

Small?

Really, small?  It's not small.  It fits a small city.  The Horseshoe is small.  C'est What is small.  The Guvernment is one of the biggest venues in town that isn't a stadium.

It IS intimate.  That's fer sure. )

I thought Royal Wood was a little to lounge actish for my taste.  I don't really dig the whole crooner thing.  but I'm sure other people liked him...

and Megan was great

No problem.  It's also on DIME and running a little faster there.

I'll put it up on archive.org in a few days - it's always good to BT the initial rush and save them the bandwidth.
