Title: Cancelled shows
Post by: Wonderman on Dec 27, 2005, 09:26 AM
I'm pretty bummed about the cancelled European dates, though obviously I hope Jim recovers soon.

Should I hang on to my ticket for when they're rearranged? Or shoudl I try for a refund? Any ideas anyone?

haven't heard anything about tickets staying valid so I would go for the refund.

Go to the site of the venue where the show was supposed to happen.
Most likely they'll have more information.

The tickets for the Belgian show stay valid.

hi,
I think your best bet is to refund, it's usually ok to keep tix when there's been a re-scheduled date.  In this case it seems the shows have been fully cancelled until further notice, so I would suggest refund.

Jim, I'm so sorry to hear you're having to deal with that bitch Pneumonia, I hope you feel better real soon  and send my sincerest get well wishes!

The Belgian show has now been officially cancelled!
I suppose it's because they will also play the Werchter festival and the organiser doens't want a club gig too close to the festival. Bastards!

As I understand it, the whole European tour is cancelled due to Jim's illness.

Nope, that's not what he meant.
The status of their show has been changed from "to be rescheduled" to "cancelled".
The tickets are no longer valid and are refunded.
Different stuation indeed.

If they don't reschedule any club dates I'll be really dissapointed to use an understatement.
The rumours of a festival date seem to hint in that direction.
I'm sorry but we need a full-on rock n roll extravaganza, not a 50 min festival show.

As always, we'll see...

It's a bummer. I was looking forward to tonight in Glasgow and didn't realise that it was cancelled- I'm glad I checked!

Best wishes to Jim- I hope you recover very quickly.

Great news about JJ but can us folk over here in Europe please hear some news about whether MMJ are going to reschedule the shows that were cancelled last year. Any news would be much appreciated. Thank you.

It would be very nice if we could get some more information... .  That's the second time in a row that i ordered tickets to see the jacket and that the gig gets cancelled... .  Meanwhile we see all this festival dates...

But no rescheduling of the dates in Europe... .

It's good to hear that  Jim is fully recovered and performing again. :)

The only slight concern is that USA gigs are suddenly falling like confetti, whilst fans in Europe continue to check their credit card statements for refunds on various cancelled tours, gigs (excluding booking fees), hotels(never 100%), trains, boats and planes. :'(

I can relate.  It wasn't just Europeans who missed out on MMJ shows this winter.  I had tickets to see them with The Black Crowes and The North Mississippi Allstars on NYE in NYC.  I like The Black Crowes but would have never traveled from Indiana to NYC just to see them.  I opted to make that trek in order to see them along with MMJ because I felt it was something fun to do for NYE.  When Jim got sick and they replaced (and I use that term loosely) them with Trey Anastasio, they would not refund my money since MMJ were an opener.  I was stuck with four tickets, two of which were unclaimed.  I was out a good chunk of money for the tix, the rental car, the vacation time, and the hotel in NYC.  To top it off they were scheduled to play Late Night with David Letterman.  On my drive to NYC I received a call from them telling me the good news that I had been selected for complimentary tickets for that show.  So I missed what could have been a phenomenal couple of MMJ shows in the greatest city in America, but it could not be helped.  I am just glad that Jim is getting better and I am anxiously looking forward to the new tour dates.  Keep the hope alive!

Understood.  Don't get me wrong.  I wasn't trying to one-up the Europeans.  Hopefully you'll get your shows rescheduled soon.
