Damn I knew I should have got tix. to this! Where did this come from. Seems like late news for this festival. ???
This makes me so much more excited for Lollapalooza! Eels followed by Ryan Adams followed by MMJ. It's gonna be a great.
What's the Eels like?
never mind the eels, Lollipopwhat????? :-/
daaaaaaaaamn.
i wish i had the money for this. i think i'm going to have to have the money for this. okay yeah, i think i will.
one day passes are only $60...that is what i'm thinking i will do
Lollapalooza used to be a touring festival, right?
When did that stop?
when they tried to have audioslave headline and nobody bought tickets...
Really? Cheers Tom, I had no idea.
I remember when it first started (the story goes that Perry Farrel was inspired by the Reading festival) & it was a cool crossover of rock & rap artists like Living Colour, Ice-T, Ice Cube, NIN, RATM etc.
So it's just a regular festival that takes place at one location only now? Strong/diverse line-up...
yeah, they kinda need to get jane's addiction back for it. because that would simplu kick ass.
but yeah, like three or four years ago they tried to bring it back as a touring thing with audioslave leading it up, and i think tickets didn't sell too well because they didn't really publicize it well enough so they had to cancel some states. and then they just decided to have a centralized location. nowhere near as cool as bonnaroo, but it still sounds frickin sweet.

OH MY GOD, this will be my third time to see MMJ this year. First time, it cost me $10. Second time, it was free. This time, I wasn't even planning on seeing them since they weren't on the bill when I got my tix, so it's a nice bonus!
How cool is that, buying a ticket then having one of your fav bands added?!!
Nice one! :)
What's even better is ever since the bill was announced - and especially after I bought my tickets - I had been thinking, "Goddamnit, why can't My Morning Jacket be on the bill?"
And now they are. ;D
wait. when is MMJ at lolla and when is Bird?
Ryan adams is on the 4th and I think I am going to miss that.
the jacket's on the fourth, and bird's on the fifth.

actually tom, that last tour with audioslave had Jane's Addiction headlining. It was their big return and I was so excited because I never got a chance to see them before they broke up. But nobody came. It was weird. And actually Audioslave blew them out of the water because Perry was in a foul mood and they were having sound problems.

I wanna go, I wanna go, I wanna go. Damn, how I wish I was living in USA at the moment. BAH! :(
Man! I'm so excited that the Jacket are playing now, but they put them in a time slot up against the Raconteurs! F! I might have to see the Raconteurs since I've seen the Jacket twice this week and three times this year. Oh, what a terrible decision to have to make. On a lighter note, Andrew Bird and Wilco were absolutely marvelous last night at Summerfest. Tweedy's banter was top notch! And the Jacket show on Monday was amazing! the show on Tues was average but they still rocked pretty hard and I got the Steam Engine with the Birdman. See y'all at Lolla!
I just remembered that this was going to be on blue room. We wouldn't be lucky enough to get 3 blue room sets in a row would we?
Ohhhh blueroom. That hadn't even come to mind.
We would be extremely lucky. Who knows who they're going to show with that massive lineup...

Hey there BuiltToLast, have you seen the Bird before? I was less impressed than at shows that were more intimate.
Well, I was at the second row and center and totally got encroached upon by a lot of drunken kids waiting for Wilco, which kinda killed my supersoberloveofbird buzz.
Curious, though, if you had seen him before. I left cuz I did not like the drunken Wilco vibe. Only cuz I was not drunk, for sure.
I work for a tea company called Sweet Leaf Tea, doing graphics and stuff. I designed the ad that's going in the lollapalooza magazine and thought you guys would appreciate it.

New to this board..... Saw the 3h set at Bonnaroo and am going to Lollapalooza. Thrilled with the unexpected news of getting to see MMJ again. Curious if anyone has heard any whispers of an MMJ aftershow at Lollapalooza? They don't appear to have another show scheduled until Aug. 17th....

I swear when I saw the opening for the Jacket's slot early on listed as "special guest" in my heart all I kept saying was PLEASE let it be the Jacket. I had already purchased pre-sale tix - when the line-up was not even out yet. When Ryan Adams, Wilco, Calexico, Flaming Lips were all announced I was stoked...but this takes it over the top!!!
Can't wait to see your ad, Dorothy!!

Just read my own post and wanted to make sure that you knew I was just quoting Black Sabbath and not trying to be weird.
