Title: Palace of Auburn Hills show (Detroit)
Post by: Carter41 on May 19, 2006, 04:26 PM
Three days before the show and I picked up a pair of Section 115, Row E tickets! I can't wait. Here's to hoping that i can get in with my stealth taping rig  ;)

dude,

read PJ's taping policy, they're pretty cool about it all.

Yeah I saw that, but they actually specify that they don't even want little mics ("No external mics"), so getting mics in might be a problem. I definitely can't bring an entire rig with a 15 foot stand. Odds are, I'll just clip some little mics onto my hat and call it a day. I know PJ's sets are all released via their site, so I probably won't tape them, but the MMJ set will defintiely be taped.

Awesome show. MMJ was fantasitc and PJ was good too. The MMJ tape came out pretty good, so expect to see it on the Archive within the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that I was taping over the St. Andrew's set while recording this set! Good thing the St. Andrew's set is already converted and spread because the master is gone  :'(

Here's the setlist, by the way:

1. At Dawn
2. Anytime
3. Off the Record
4. Gideon
5. Wordless Chorus
6. What A Wonderful Man
7. One Big Holiday
8. Mahgettah

Jim also mentioned some time travel adventures back to the Renaissance Period after Holiday...pretty funny shit.

As good as they were in Cleveland they were better in Detroit. A full blown version of Off the Record and Gideon were especially nice. I really, really, really like these guys. Got back home about 4 AM and the vibe from this show is getting me through the day. See you again soon!

Cool!  Thanks for the reports.  This would have been my show were it not for a few Ticketmaster snafus.

Snafus - sp?  That looks really weird.

Hey guys, sorry it took so long to get this show up! I just upped it to the Archive (not sure if its downloadable yet, but if not, it will be very soon). Here's the link:
