Superfly Productions and A.C. Entertainment have confirmed that the sixth annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival will take place in Manchester, TN from June 14-17, 2007. Beginning December 13, a limited number of discounted early-bird tickets will be available before the lineup is announced.
thanks for the nice two day notice superfly, oh well $115 isn't too bad.
here's to MMJ making it 5 years in a row
Is there *any chance* MMJ won't play?
I'm worried that they will decide that last year can't be topped, and move on to other things. Just a thought.
when a band decides that the previous year can't be topped at a certain venue, isn't it time to do something else?
They'd better be there, and I wouldn't be surprised if they rocked some new material, you know, so they felt like they could top this year (which was fuckin' EPIC)
Big dumb question... does Bonnaroo get sold out?
I can't commit to something that far away...

80,000 "cap" last year.
I guess what I'm thinking is, they can't go back to a 50 minute set can they? It's either late night three hour marathon or nothing if it was me.

cool, new question... did they meet 80,000?
Scenario
The 'roo offers the Jacket a mainstage set at a prime time -- but for under 90 minutes.
The Jacket says no, please book us in a tent. We want to play for 4 hours this year.
Yes, the 'roo sells out. But not usually until late May or early June.
gracias Anu!
this one could go either way....the boys might not decide to play this year and move on to something else or they will get a late night tent again....the roo usually tries to mix things up each year...to a certain degree....late night tents being one of them....i just dont feel like paying 115 bones for the roo.....id rather pay that just to see the boys play for 5 hours...haha

Yeah, but this years lineup is going to be stellar. I was worrying about MMJ as well. I personally dont think any show I ever see again will top that show. It was magical.
I think I'm gonna wait for the VIP tix, but 115 bucks isn't bad.
From what I understand, MMJ and the people that run Bonnaroo are quite close. There have been other bands that have played every or almost every year so I think Bonnaroo is always going to be one of MMJ's highlights of the summer.
After all, MMJ is Bonnaroo, in a sense. Or maybe Bonnaroo is MMJ? I haven't been yet but I've been trying to go since 2003. My first one better have MMJ there or I'll go crazy.
to me, MMJ makes Bonnaroo what it is. I saw MMJ for the first time at Bonnaroo. Last year after spending two days walking around crowds of unfamiliar people and bands i've never seen, i saw five familiar faces.
It was like a small town person going to New York City, then coming home to your family. Well, for me at least.
If Jacket isn't at Bonnaroo this year, sure i'll be dissapointed, but hell yes i'm still going. It will just feel like a different fest without knowing that i will experience the Jacket sometime during the weekend.

Pretty sure they did as there were plenty of scalpers servicing hungry ticket seekers in the Wal-Mart parking lot the night before. Also, that is a great place to hang out as the word about the gates opening seems to come fairly quickly to the awaiting masses.
If you have never been, are young and adventurous, then GO! I was 47 and 48 years old at my first two and enjoyed the hell out of it. It really is "something else", but you will never really know until you go. Words do not describe. :D
Agreed. Go. No matter what. I discovered MMJ for myself during the Return to Thunderdome of 2004. That was the first time I heard a single note of My Morning Jacket. They have been my favorite band ever since. I've also been to Bonnaroo every year since, and will never miss another one. The performances....man. For the last three years, my top performances of each year have come from Bonnaroo.
My Morning Jacket is just the super-sweet icing on a kick-ass cake.
From the Nashville Scene music blog: I got tickled when I read this. We have a reputation......
"Did you know you can get your Bonnaroo tickets BEFORE the schedule of artists is even announced? Uh, who doesn't need to know who's playing first? My Morning Jacket fans?"
I'm sure they'll be there, but I'll wait just in case.
Last year Bonnaroo sold out about 3 or 4 days before the show.
so, when do they start announcing who is playing
Quoteso, when do they start announcing who is playing
not until late January/early February

I believe February 1st... I know that date has been used in the past, but I'm not sure if thats a regular thing....
