does anyone know if mmj is having an opener for athens and asheville? I know a band that would love to play with them, if there is no support..... ;)
Sorry J - according to their MySpace listings:
w/Follow The Train
Anyone know anything about them?
Follow the Train!!! Now I'm even more motivated to get my tix tomorrow! Thanks for the news. Follow the Train is an awesome band from Louisville as well.

I support this idea.
Thanks for that link! I already had them as a friend. Yeah, I like them, too. Those are going to be some sweet evenings.

Me too!..I mean, in case anyone is keeping a count. :-)
I also support this idea.
thanks guys!! you're great....seriously...brian, are you going to the orange peel? one more session or so for us and we start mixing!!!! :)....i hate to be too excited, but......
I have tickets to both Athens shows, I am out of money. :'( I may still try and go, it depends on how the sperm bank works out for me.
Let me know when you guys finish that badboy up.
"Follow the Train" is playing Feb. 24 at Headliner's with "Wax Fang"...good chance to check them out before the Spring shows in Asheville and Athens!!!
Yep, I'll be going to that, The Features will be there too!

i LOVE the features!!! did you catch them back in October when they played at Uncle Pleasant's? there were about 30 people there. it was pretty cool to see them so close and they were still rocking it out and loud as ever! can't wait for this show! 3 GREAT BANDS for $8!
Also...an interesting "Follow the Train" link to MMJ.
Anyone who was at Bonnaroo 2006 probably remembers the bearded guitartist (Mike Sabo) that came out and played with them on a couple of songs. Well...he is now the guitarist in "Follow the Train"!!!
Another member of Follow The Train is very tight with MMJ - "The Man" from the Okonokos video, aka Brandon Jones. :) Alas, they don't have alpacas in the band...

i noticed the similar names, but didn't realize it was the same person!
i had some friends that went to Manual with Brandon Jones and they said he was doing the acting thing...didn't know he also played! this should be a fun little tour for both bands since they are good friends!

god. damn. it.
ok when are these shows?
man.
maaaaaaaaaaan.
seeeeeriously, i could hardly sleep. this is such a terrific line up. you know how sometimes you go to shows with your friends who may not care about music as much as you do, so they hold you back from the opening bands?
do not let this happen. you've gotta go see these two bands together.
for me. do it for me because i can't.
son.of.a.bitch.
but just to throw this into the world, this would be a GREAT lineup for a tour of canada. just sayin'.

are you going to the Feb. 24 show at Headliner's??
Let me know what yall's favorite FTT songs are. I've pulled a few off music blogs, and I really like LFR and Wake Up. What album/songs should I grab first?
i can't go to the february 24th show at headliners, mr. mcc, because i live in canada. :( are you going to go? i've seen dennis play guitar b4. it's pretty rad.
as for albums, i have "a breath of sigh", and i really love it. we listened to it on a road trip last summer, and it makes me think of driving, which i love.

oh shucks...i was convinced you lived in L'ville since you were a FTT fan! bad assumption on my part!
i'm pumped about that show!
Wax Fang (3rd time i've seen them), the Features (3rd time i've seen them), and my first time seeing Follow the Train!!!
Man, that show at Headliners is going to be Totally AWESOME!!!! I hope I can make it.

brian, are you going to the other 3 shows?
Ha, I'm going to the two 40 Watt shows. I think I should probably take Asheville off in order to preserve my wife's sanity.

nah...come to Asheville. i'm coming down from L'ville with a collective KY crew (Ashland, Lexington, etc.) of about 12 peeps...so we are getting rowdy in Asheville with help from the Jacket. it will be a night to remember!!!
stop twisting my rubber arm please.
Quotestop twisting my rubber arm please.
twist, twist, twist
Come ON Brian. I made the effort to shake your hand at the Knoxville show. The least you can do is drive a few measly hours to Asheville to shake mine. My hand, that is.

Thanks EC. Hopefully I can find that album in the next couple weeks before the show.
I would do anything to have the next 13 days just disappear. Going to the 40 Watt show the Friday before with Wax Fang, The Features, and The Whigs. Helluva triple threat.

AGREED...and if you both come, then i can shake both of your, uh, hands!
i promise you a good time with my Kentucky crew!
