I'm going to the Telluride show with some friends, anyone else??

yeah, i'm camping friday and saturday. i'm looking forward to spending all day in telluride, seems like my kind of town. i'm almost looking forward to this show more than the red rocks show, although that's going to kick all kinds of ass too.
We are for sure camping Saturday and most likely Friday too. Yeah, I hear there is cool stuff to do right from Town Park, hiking etc. We got the vehicle pass so we have to leave our car in the camp ground. I wish we had room for bikes to check out the town. Skateboards maybe?

sounds like a plan. like i said, we'll be hanging out all day in telluride so if you want to meet up for a pint or something on saturday that's cool. anyone else who wants to meet up either at telluride or red rocks shoot me a pm.
I'd meet up with y'all saturday afternoon for some beers - I'm heading to Grand Mesa on Friday to do a little fishin and camp there then head to Telluride. I'll see you at Red Rocks too aMD - I'll pm you later in the week about catching up there.

telluride town park is the greatest venue on earth. better than red rocks. that's all i will say.

I'm going and couldn't be more fired up. Noob on this site but a long time MMJ fan, just moved to Denver from Detroit.
I'm going with a few girls that I'm concerned aren't open minded enough for MMJ or Dylan to say the least. So good chances I'll have 2 extra tickets and I wouldn't mind running into some MMJ fans to rock with. Anyway....looking forward to exploring the town, maybe hike around a bit. Is there any "must-do", "must-see" things to do in the area?

Hey to all in the know, it looks like there is a river that passes right by town park. Can you swim in it? What else is there to do during the day? (Besides the obvious ;))
How close is it to town? Can we walk?

Hey mtngurl - the San Miguel River goes thru Telluride, but it's up there close to the source so it's pretty small and very freezy. Telluride's about the only place I haven't been to in CO, and I don't know much detail. My buddy that lives in Denver is big into kayaking, so if I can talk him into coming out there with me, we might be doing some playing in the river downstream. Can't wait for these shows - I'm starting my trip tomorrow and I'm already giddy!

there's supposed to be pretty killer waterfalls on the east end of town. i've never been there but from what i gather we'll be able to walk into town.
As expected I have extra tickets - Face Value of 50 bucks would be great but would take what I can get.....

the River is too cold to "swim" in, but if it's super hot (which for T'ride is like 83 degress but intense sun) it's really nice to go for a dip.
Things to do:
- go for a Gondola ride up to Mountain Village. Nice views.
- drink lots of water. the elevation there is no joke. go easy on the booze to.
- eat breakfast at the organic mexican place next to the "Coffee Cowboy". something.. "La Cacina" seriously good food there.
- go for a hike up to Bear Falls. Any hike, anywhere, actually, will be cool.
- Fly Me to the Moon Saloon is a cool little rowdy bar.
- see MMJ play in Town Park. next summer hopefully they will headline there.
btw, you can walk everywhere. It's all within walking distance. don't touch your car at all. turn your cell phones off.
