We had a forest scene and a revival of some old favorites for the Okonokos tour...so what can we expect from the new album tour?
My suggestions:
- The shows will, for the most part, be outdoors. There will be a dirt stage and a huge bonfire going on in the middle. There will be only minimal lighting on stage.
- We will see a return of War Begun. And the first ever performance of "If It Smashes Down".
- We will see some all-new instruments on stage.
- Jim will have his hair back.
- There will be a little skit before each show, similar to the NYE one.
Any ideas? (I'm in an unusually creative mode right now)
ca-na-da. a lesser-known northern country made up of weird people who call the beaver a god. a strong sort of people, they have an unusual need for beautiful live music and go into withdrawal when it's been too long.
save the canadians! let them suffer no longer!
maybe free tickets to all shows for people named meg?
Better yet, show in my backyard. I'll grill. My backyard is seriously large enough to hold about 2000 crazy Jacket fans with a garage that has a low roof for some serious crowd diving
Realistically, I think they will tour smaller Theaters and Ballrooms for the first tour (or part of it) and then move up to bigger Theaters and a couple ballroom shows.
By that standard, Illinois State University's Braden Auditorium would be a good fit. Just don't have it right before Xmas break like the folks at U of I did last year. Any dates in central IL are welcomed, though!

Hear Hear! (Or is it Here Here?!)
not that I'm against speculation, but are there any rumored dates for the next tour? It seems like they should start a fall tour after these late summer festival/red rocks dates.
now, as for wishes, return to the 9:30.

This could be accomplished by coming to Flor-i-da as it seems that most of your countrymen are allready here. I love speedos and ass crack!

Train stations. They will travel by train, and play train stations across the country!

Albany.
They like the Catskills, and Jim said we have the nicest Kinko's in the country, so come back!

Yes. They must come to Albany.... I missed them when they played Northern Lights.
I propose they do the exact same Canadian tour that The White Stripes just completed. Complete with 'secret' shows and all.

Hopefully not the one note performance in St. Johns.

I think he may have been reaching for things to praise about Albany when he complimented our Kinko's. Funny because I spent a good chunk of that day at Kinkos, yet missed them whenever they passed through. As much as I'd like to see them come to Albany, Northampton has nicer venues. Maybe it could be both/and though.

That is really true. Albany doesn't have a nice place (other than the Madison Ave Armory, which never gets used) to hold mid-sized shows...they aren't playing the Knick, and other than the Palace, there really aren't any places downtown to play.
Edgefield!!!!!!!! Wilco and The Decemberists are playing here this summer. It is a historical building with mad bars galore on the property. A hotel to-boot. I asked Dylan at Badman to pass the suggestion on to the band. It is totally up their alley!
