At Radio City on Friday I talked quite a bit between songs with the guy who was sitting in front of me. Never caught his name but he was a really nice guy. In any case, at one point New Years Eve came up and although it was hard to make out what he said the gist of it was this: a friend of his is a music journalist (pretty sure thats what he said, I couldnt quite hear him but I know he does something with music lol) and said the rumor is that M. Ward and Zooey Deschanel will be opening the New Years Eve show. It sounds very feasible seeing as how they have worked together in the past and Deschanel was at Radio City on Friday. He said it should be announced sometime in the next week.
As with any rumor you have to take it with a grain of salt, but I thought it was info worth passing on.
I would approve very highly of that possibility :) :) :)
i heard a rumor that the jonas brothers were opening and that the band was going to play loose booty. only one of those is something i actually want.
....I heard a rumor that there were going to be two opening acts, just M. Ward then Yo La Tengo then MMJ.....if I got to see Yo La Tengo open up for MMJ on New Years I might just explode.....

I dunno, that'd have to be close to a 6 hour show, wouldnt it? Not saying I wouldnt be up for it though!
....I saw REM the other night at MSG and they had two opening bands (The National and Modest Mouse) and the show started at seven and ended a little before 11....its possible to do if you aren't dealing with egotistical rock stars that need everyone to wait an hour before they go on *cough*Kanye West at Bonnaroo*cough*.....

here's hoping that the seating arrangement is not all seats and that they do a GA pit (for us!).
I've noticed it makes a big difference in crowd energy at MSG shows. the hardcore fans are up front where they want to be... and the VIPs get their own little section to themselves, too.

YLT will be doing the Hannukah shows until they die or they tear Maxwell's down .....
